Water is life! Ice is for living! ( You know, those 5pm cocktails...sore muscles from homesteading....) most excellent video on improvements to the nest!
Great video! We have an Acuva UV-LEd water filter system in our RV with a smart faucet for our drinking water that hooks up underneath the sink. We have another filter for the rest of the RVs water. Larry got tired of lugging water bottles 🤣😂. It has been one of our best investments for the motorhome. Really like what you have been doing around your “homestead”. Lots of work but very rewarding. Enjoy your ice maker 😊💞🇺🇸
Just started watching tonight! loving it! and you are not in Canada-which is such a foreign land and weather... looking forward to watching and learning more about our area challanges.
Not to slam your "plumbing Mojo," (which for all those PEC fittings was really good,) but did I see a drip on that Teflon-taped fitting coming out of the UV filter housing right at the end of the video. . .? 🙄
Hello A Dreamin' Life! Great video and enjoyed watching how you inserted the UV part. I am going to be installing a UV purifier also. One question: Did you take into account the possibility of UV degradation of the PEX tubing connected to the UV purifier? Some information indicates a minimum of 6 inches of metal pipe before PEX/PVC to prevent UV degradation of water line.
Ummm…the video (at 2:40) shows these brass fittings in sealed plastic bags with the SharkBite logo clearly displayed on each one. Steve is quite the perfectionist when he does a project, so I can assure you that he wouldn’t “go cheap” on the fittings.
@@AStreaminLife Thanks but I'm surprised the little pump delivers enough pressure. Have you tested the PSI? I might need to add one at our place. Do you have a video from that install? (Link for the UV filter?)
A/C and Ice. The last barriers for me in deciding for full off-grid commitment! Way to go!
nice job ⭐️😀
Impressive!
You two are fun. :) :)

Nice install! It would be nice for RUclips to send you videos to me,but I digress. Stay safe.

This simple/off grid living is getting COMPLICATED. 😃 I kid, I kid. Or do I?
The UV filter isn't all that complicated. ;)
@@AStreaminLifeisn't electricity needed to run this? Isn't the point to be able to have water filtered when power is gone

Those are actually brass barbed fittings. Sharkbite fittings are different and more expensive than brass barbed with crimp bands.

The bag suggests differently.
Hello Steve & Courtney. Can you provide the link for the UV filter? Thanks,
Is the purifier for more than drinking water? I'm thinking that I heard Courtney mention the heater?
She was saying that everything inside the house will get the purified water, including sinks, our shower, the water heater, etc.

Have you had your water tested for bacteria after this installation of the uv led system. If so what are the results,
Works on organics but doesn't help at all for SOC or VOC or Rads.
