thanks! A lot of tips! I thought I had picked up most points of interest from your previous videos, but I learn many new things from this video LOL!! Saved them into my google map!! Thanks!!!!
We are very pleased that you found something new to bookmark on your Google Maps, hopefully, more to come! LOL! Have to admit, even for us, visiting these places and driving these roads several times, it was challenging to make the "recommended" route and keep a road trip within 7 days. If RUclips will give us a chance to this video, we will get more energy and motivation to make more alternative routes, so everyone planning a trip to Norway will have more info and places to choose from.
Hello from Japan. We are planning to travel to Norway in August 2024. We rented a car for 7 days in Bergen, but there were so many places to see that we were at a loss as to where to go. Your travels are very helpful. However, we are not a camper so we need to find a place to stay. Where did you stay and for how many days? Please let me know.
Hello from Norway! Glad you planned to visit Norway in August, great time, and hopefully will bring a lot of sunny days and great impressions. Bergen is a great place to start and the car give you a lot of flexibility and you can literally stay anywhere on your route. We stayed many nights in our caravan in very different locations. It is rather hard to advise where to stay... do you mean in which town or exact hotel? Hotels in Norway offer reach breakfasts included in the price, but more expensive. Camping are great choice for families, gives you great views and, nature experience, but a bit less comfort. Probably not a very helpful answer, but let me know what are you looking for and will help you as much as we can. Thanks!
Beautiful video 😀 reminding of my quite recent trip to Norway last month. @8:30 "...therefore requires less effort..." my knees and ankles say otherwise lol. Yes, less effort on the cardio, but going down is hard on articulations, especially when you are over 50. I am in love with Norway.
Sounds like you were having a great time in Norway! 😀Going to Rampestreken is a very individual preference, but sounds like going up 500m is better for any part of the body than going down 200m from the gondola. We went there in April when the gondola was not yet open and still remember this day it is one of the most memorable experiences we had as most of the trail was still covered with ice and snow. And yes, Hi...hi... from the knees sounds very familiar. 😀
@@CrazyTroll I had an incredible time in Norway, especially in Lofoten during first week. I went to Rampestreken but it was quite foggy up there, not able to see Åndalsnes, and rocks/stairs were quite wet. I was not feeling comfortable going down on potential slippery rocks, so, I chose to go down on the gondola sparing my articulations at the same time 😄
Thank you for your video For a first timer in Norway, and starting in oslo, what do you recommend first? going north to the places described in this video or the south road trip to stavanger?
These are very different road trips and will give you different impressions. For our own, we would choose to go North, visiting more fjords and mountains with glaciers. Going to Stavanger will offer you some other very popular places like Lysefjord and Preikestolen. Since there is a lot of rain in Norway now, we would recommend checking the weather forecast and choosing better weather.
Hi and thank you for watching our video! :) Sounds great, do you plan to go to Norway in 2023 or 24? Do you plan a long jourbey? Wish you a pleasant trip!
Hello! Sorry for the late response. Well, it depends on how heavy is the rain and if the snow just melted. Normally the gravel is pretty good, but in heavy rain, it might be soft. Anyhow, the best part of Galme Strynefjellsvegen is the views, which won't be seen in the rain. As an option, you could try to drive the serpentine from Stryn as it has asphalt and a lot of joy, gravel goes between Summe skiing center and Grotli.
Thank you for your tips. They helped me a lot for my trip in May. I hope to have beautiful weather, but nevertheless, I'm going to Norway to relax, so if the weather doesn't cooperate, it's fine too. I will be staying for approximately 12 days. My starting point is Kristiansand. So from your last location, I added the famous Atlantic Road, but what do you suggest after the Atlantic Road? I was thinking about taking a straight route to Trondheim and from there to Oslo, then to Larvik or Kristiansand, and back home. What would you advise? And, of course, to explore everything famous along this route.
I Apologise for the late response and very curious if you are in Norway already! Seems like you are northbound after the Atlantic road, so Kristiansund is a great city. There were a couple of warm days but settled for very mild weather. Hope you will enjoy Norway and good weather will follow you!
Hi Stephen! Very good question, thanks! Yes, we did the whole route with Eriba except Gamle Strynveggen just because we had a different plan for that day. It is also doable, there are meeting places, and the incline is not horrible, but the road can be in poor condition after rains, so it might be reasonable to unhook a caravan for this short trip. Motorhomes are commonly on this road.
Hi, your video made me eager to do a road trip in Norway. I would like to know if it is legal to park overnight and sleep in any free public parking, if I stay inside the camper-van without setting up a tent nor activity outside the van?
Great idea and brilliant destination for road trip! Unless you see any restricting signs and/or disturb other people, specially living nearby it wont be a problem. There are rules for camping that is very easy for follow and find great places for camping or overnight stops. This was one of our first video we did, but not much changed over time: ruclips.net/video/1NOeKss8TWc/видео.html
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Here you have same route written as article. You will find the map with all places in the end. crazytroll.no/optimal-7-days-norway-road-trip-itinerary/
Hello Lena! 👋 Yes, everything is true for those who are traveling to Norway for the first time and who have a great desire to see the beauty of nature, but it’s completely unclear where to start this video will fit perfectly! 👌😍 We hope that before the 2023 season this video will be found by those who find it really necessary!☺️🎥 This will give us extra motivation to make videos in this style!😁 Thank you for your comment and Happy Holidays!🥳🎄✨
Amazing tips! What of those roads or places I can go on winter time? End of February to be exactly. I'm planning this road trip, but it seems that several roads are closed during winter time.
Thank you for watching. This itinerary is our suggestion for summer/autumn journey. During winter Sognefjellet (RV55), road to Geiranger (from Geirander to RV15) and Trollstigen will be closed until April-May. Trying this route will make you massive troubles. Suggest you watching video about Road condition ruclips.net/video/NtcT095CLzE/видео.html , there you will see how to check if the road is open or closed.
Hello and greetings from Texas, USA! This was an amazing video showing some very beautiful parts of Norway. We love to visit Norway probably in the next year or so. When driving a car, are there a lot of gas stations/convenience stores/ rest rooms along the way? Thank you!
Thank you very much! Hope you will plan your trip asap! Some locations might be quite remote and suggest having fuel for at least 100-150km, but you will meet signs telling that to the closest gas station will be in XX kms after passing this one. So... if you are attentive on road signs, you are safe! Very often Gas stations are also Convenience Stores, have Rest rooms and serve good food. Driving main roads and popular tourist locations is very convenient. Mountain passages wont have multiple Gas Station, etc. but still there are comfortable cafe, hotels, etc, so will need some planning.
@@CrazyTroll Thank you so much for the info and your response! We are really hoping to visit around September of 2024 so we will definitely begin planning as soon as possible! We look forward to seeing more of your beautiful country through your amazing videos!

Nice to see you travelled in an electric car. Very Norwegian!
Yes, wish to use it to tow the caravan, but range will be so small that will spend half of time charging. :)
can't wait to go to Norway, Sweden is absolutely boring...
We wish you great weather and a lot of wonderful impressions from a trip to Norway, there are many things that can impress the country and nature.
Hm...i feel like Norway and sweden are a bit similar...
Exept some of the nature ,its a bit "wilder".
@@TG-hp8og No not at all, road trips in Sweden are just boring - long straight roads... and you need to drive long distances to see something.
