A little tip from a local: Flytoget (airport express train) is about twice the price of the regular commuter train, and only 2-3 minutes quicker.
Thanks for that helpful info! We'll pin your comment to the top so people can se it.
The commuter train is cheaper, but for comfort and convenience Flytoget is great. The Vy commuter trains can be somewhat crowded.
Pro tip: most of the Flytoget cars have a little terminal where you can scan your boarding pass (Airline app should have it) and print luggage tags. If you've already done the rest of the check-in online or in the app, this saves you a little bit of time at the airport. No need to queue for the checkin kiosks, just go straight to bag drop 😄
Flytoget is a scam as far as I'm concerned. For anyone not living in Oslo itself it's just never worth it
Great points! I also got some great ideas for watercolor painting! Great choice for us recliner travelers. ❄️👩🏼🎨👍
Thanks so much! 😊
Wow, what a video! Norway is now on my bucket list. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Norway is very special
100%
I am a Bangladeshi🇧🇩 citizen Apoorba Rahman, one of the biggest wishes in life is to hope and live in Norway. I want to live a life of happiness, peace and harmony. I want to sow that seed there. I don't know when it will happen but I really want it. Norway is the country of dreams
It's such a beautiful country!
Norway is a peaceful place with many well educated people and low crime. Norway is beautiful and very clean. People care about the environment there. You would like it.
Don't have kids there the government will take them especially if your Indian.
Welcome :) are plenty of Bangladeshi immigrants/visitors in Norway, so you have lots of support/help if u come :)
Don’t you dare
I love Bergen Norway ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
me too
As a rule, you can not reserve space on regular car ferries, these are just part of the road (you dont reserve a place on the road, you drive and wait in turn of necessary).
Thanks for the info
The great tunnel architecher is at Taiwan....highly recommend~~
Good to know!
Awesome video! Trying to plan a trip to Norway. You mention a free PDF. Wondering where I can access it?
There's a link to PDF in the video description... have fun
Hihi! It’s our first time in Norway and planning to visit in Nov. Is it easy to navigate via local tours and public transport? Would like to visit Oslo, tromso, lofoten islands and Bergen. Not comfortable driving during winter season. Any tips? May I ask what’s the average taxi price like in Norway? 😊 thanks for sharing all these helpful tips!
besides what I have in the vidoe... and I think I cover this... Uber's are genrallly much cheaper than taxi. You can get an estimate on the Yber app for a location so you might try that. Have fun.
Stunning
Thank you! 😊
thanks for the tips of clothes
Of course!!
I've just returned from a fantastic 5000mile trip to the very top of Norway (starting near London U,K) I disagree with your comments about electric cars as did this in my own Tesla and had absolutely no problems at all! There was even a Tesla charger just 30km from Nord Kap! Even though i was born in NZ , Norway is my favourite country for road tripping .
Thanks for sharing! Glad it went better for you
I have to begin by saying that I've never driven in Norway, but looking at my charger map, you could do ok just with the Eviny app and the Electroverse app from Octopus Energy (which will work with a large number of different networks across Europe).
Oh, and the Tesla network is open to non-Tesla owners in Norway.
After quit smoking ,when you know the real city's smell, you ll crave for Norway twice❤
that's a unique comment
Norway is top
it is
Nice travel video about Norway.
Many thanks!
Can you do a guide to Sommarøy? My girlfriend and I and a couple of our friends plan on expatriating from America to Sommarøy and would love to hear your opinions. Greetings from New Jersey.
I'd love to but wont be headed back to Norway for a while
@ ah dang it. Here’s hoping at some point though.
Thank you so much for the tips! could you please share the link to your free pdf? thanks ;)
Thanks. My apologies... the PDF never materialized.... I shouyd not have mentioned it.
As a Norwegian I do have a comment on your tunnel olympics comment: Switzerland and Japan might compete for the gold. I would say Norway might be amongst top 10, but probably not medal worthy. Seen a couple of your videos: Great job. :)
Thanks.... I need to get to Switzerland then
great video
Glad you enjoyed it
what are the rules for drones??? Also, is 6k enough for a 10 day trip or would you suggest more ?
Well... I should say I researched it thoroughly... but didn't. I had 0 issues but... it's such a spresely populated country that unless you are being obnoxious likely no one will care. 6k... assume you mean money... yes assming USD or Euros that should be more than enough unless you are super fancy. have a great time
6000 Norwegian Kroner will buy you a beer... 😅😅
@@rugbygirlsdadg i mean usd
there is a drone sone in Oslo .. u skipped 12000 fine there:):) dont use it in Oslo rest is ok and always 5-10 km form any airport ofc, and in any another city's, if you just wanna play around for fun police don't like it. if use for the picture u need they allow it. Drone use sud not be unnecessarily in city's.
There was one area in Norway that never was "christianised" but stayed "hedonic". The chieftains around Hamar was too powerful for the king so they agreed on leaving eachother alone. That`s why this area still today is known as Hedmarken
Thanks for the info!
18:12 «In term of dressing Norwegians are stylish and well dressed…» Nooo! - why did you say that!? Now I have to buy a lot of clotches so that the tourists are not disappointed when they see me.
Oppps... well it's all relative.... compared to where I come from, you giys are pretty stylish.... but don't put too much pressure on yourself. Thanks for watching.
5:06 It’s also mostly A320
I looked it up... SAS mostly A320 and Norweigian 100% 737s... I'm a plane nerd too
most important thing to know in winter?
There's not much light... but plenty of northern lights
Did you see local rental companies within the towns and villages? Or are they only at the airports?
I only saw them at the airport... I'd imagine that Oslo, Bergen etc larger cities might have downtown locations but I'm not sure
Are norwegians scandinavians friendly and welcoming to foreigners?
In my experience they were super friendly and helpful
"People only ferry" = boat. An important tip not mentioned, when Norwegians say "ferry" that means "car ferry". Never ask a Norwegian about "ferry" when you mean "passenger boat".
Thanks
The most beautiful country in my opinion is Norway 🇳🇴
Agree!
5:37 is not in Norway. In Norway the median line is yellow.
I'll double check
Which month you been there?
September and October
Which company did you use for car rental?
Hertz... I was pretty happy w them
@@SwankGuide thank you
Are drones allowed
I'm not sure.... my personal experience is no one hassled me, but probaly worth checking the regulations.
I have seen from other videos that you need a permit to fly it in most places. People have had trouble. But it might be different in different parts of the country, so its best to look it up if you are planning to fly one.
Hi is November a good month to visit Norway in terms of weather? Mainly planning on seeing the northern lights hopefully. Thanks
I would g o to Tromsø or perhaps Alta (Finnmark) in December, live in a hotel in the city and visit resorts in the region. Christmas vibes and good conditions for Northern Light.
Hi there... guess it depends on how cold you like it.... and rain... I was there from mid September to mid October, I think a great time togo b/c you still get sunny days and by late September N lights are quite possible. Remember key to seeing N lights is no/minimal cloud cover, dark skys (i.e. June wont work), and solar activity... all those things have to line up. Good luck. I have a video in my Iceland series about chacing the N lights
In southern Norway, November is likely the most miserable month. Cold, dark and wet, but without the Christmas vibe or the upcoming spring to look forward to.
As for northern lights, sources differ. Some say November through January if you're going up north, others say late september/october and march/early april is statistically the highest activity periods.
Norwegians are stylish and well-dressed, hmmm, not sure if that is precise. Compared to average americans perhaps. but not compared the French and Italians. Norwegians are generally informal.
all relative I guess.
12:00
18:12
not sure I understand
@@SwankGuide how just some timestamps for reference my liege! thank you for your guide!
@@SwankGuide I wonder: what is the name of your favorite sculpture Museum you referred to in the video? Please let me know! I would be very grateful!
Will I be able to see the northern lights if I go in August?
I'm not an expect ... but I'd say probably not... if you see my video Manshausen resort... I was there mid September and I was suprised how excited the staff was to see the N lights that night.. and they said that was the 1st they'd seen them that season.
@@SwankGuide appreciate it
@@adamispahany3698 No problem!
@@SwankGuide I agree with you. I would not count on watching the Northern Lights during the summer season. December- February are the best months.
No. Your best option is November thru February for that. You can only see them in the pitch black darkness.
No, you're not saying Bodø correctly.
sorry
Slovenia vs Norway I choose Norway.
Thanks for the feedback
Electric cars
un huh
The fry vocal was annoying.
But it is also a creative and well produced video. And you cannot be nice and say something mean about his voice? Go outside bro
@lotta4246.... that is so sweet... it's kinda wild how rude some people can be in the comments section... so I super appreciate you standing on the side of civil discourse. Thank you!
Many people find vocal fry annoying and fake. It sounds privileged. Many rich people do not like or use vocal fry. Many do. However, it always sounds pretentious and show off.
