Hei Pal! 👋 I have just recently discovered your channel. Wonderful content and well done! My wife traveled in Norway many years ago. We hope to visit some day as I have never been there. Tusen takk😃
@@vincegordon6830 Hei Vince, thanks for checking out my content, and glad you like it :) Tusen takk! I hope you'll make it over here some day
@@misskhanitthakumrong3901 Hello :)
Hi Pal, really enjoyed your journey. I'm 73 now and back in summer 1972, I traveled solo in Norway, having taken an overnight ferry from Newcastle, England to Bergen. Met some Norwegian lads on the ferry and we drank beer 'til the wee hours of the night. They wouldn't let me buy a beer, treated me all evening long. We were all in our early 20s. Once I arrived in Bergen, I was walking around the harbor and found a commercial boat that had a few staterooms for passengers and booked a trip into the Sognefjord. Wow, what an amazing experience that was! Such scenic beauty. The boat was loaded with goods for farmers in communities along the fjord that were only accessible by water, and I recall a couple of draft horses and a large farm tractor that were unloaded at a couple of stops by a crane on the back of the boat. We went all the way to Flam, then rode the Flam Train line up to the main Bergen train line. Amazing scenery! Got to the main train station in Oslo, then caught a train up north to Andalsnes, then caught a bus and ended up in a hostel in some community whose name I've long forgotten. I just wanted to get lost in Norway and see the countryside and experience the people there. It was a memory for a lifetime that I cherish to this day. You have one of the most beautiful and friendliest countries on planet Earth. Cheers from Lafayette, Louisiana, US.
Hei Frank! Thanks for sharing your Norwegian travel memories! Very cool. You certainly had some unique and memorable moments over here.
Thanks for watching my video:)
Pål
This… this is what is important. And it shouldn’t be just once in a lifetime. I am working hard to reconcile my realization that it is not required that I just bust my ass working until I’m too old to enjoy life.
The two guys talking makes me happy
I've been a trucker all over Europe. I am Romanian, i remember years ago i got to do deliveries from Dk to Norway mostly Oslo area but i had a few going up north. Norway is by far the most beautiful country I've ever seen. I was working but driving my truck there was like being on a vacation. I need to finish building my house and after that I'll save money for a campervan and the first jurney will be from Romania to northern Norway.
Hei Domitry! Glad to hear you have such fond memories of Norway. Good luck on building your house, and I hope you'll get to travel here with a campevan at some point
beautiful...Reminds me of driving cross Canada ...in a truck..
@@Grace23R Thanks! Would have loved to drive across Canada some day
Sooo beautiful! The amount of work going into setting the camera, driving off into the distance, only to go back to pick up the camera. Again, and again... Superb drone shots too! This summer we're going hiking by car in these very areas! 👍
Thank you! It sure took some time to produce this episode. I'm glad you're going to experience these roads, they are quite fun and scenic
My husband and I will be coming for the month of July this summer and will be staying in Sandefjord. I am so excited
Cool! I hope you have a nice visit to Norway
Norway is so beautiful.
Norwegians are so lucky... to get to live in a place like this but to also be fluent in English, which opens up so much of the rest of the world to them too. I'm an American and I've always viewed Scandinavia as some sort of like paradise destination. Like, if you live there then you have "made it". I've never been outside of North America. Who knows, maybe if I did travel to Scandinavia then reality wouldn't live up to the unrealistic expectations of the fantasy I have built in my head, but I would love to one day visit and find out.
Hi Leif, nice to hear you have such a good impression of Scandinavia. Every country got their issues, but life for sure can be pretty sweet here with a high standard of living, good social benefits etc. And of course a lot of beautiful scenery. I hope you'll make it over here some day!
@@norwaywithpal I hope so too. Some things that always keep me from traveling are that I don't have anyone to go with, and I'm really anti social so it's very hard for me to talk to and meet new people. But seeing you do a solo road trip like this looks like just the kind of thing I would enjoy and be able to handle. I hope I can finally talk myself into it while I'm still young.
@@GenghisClaus Anti social? You will fit perfectly in here with the rest of us in Norway.

A road trip to remember! My girlfriend and i did this trip in October of this year. I will always cherish this experience.
So glad you had the chance to enjoy this road trip as well!
Just got back from Bergen after a weekend, Lovely clean city modern, friendly people.❤
Glad to hear that :)
So many cities in the UK and the EU are better kept. Americans don’t seem to have much pride in where they live.
Did the Bergen-Oslo trip but on the train. View was awesome. We also passed-by the Hardanger suspension bridge when we drove from Stavanger to Geiranger last month. It really is a work of architecture marvel.
Cool! The train is also very nice.
Wow what a great video! Keep going! I even reconised some spots from Kygos Happy Now music video!
Thanks a lot, tusen takk for watching!
Amazing video, thank you for sharing , it is very helpful, I also took train from Oslo to Bergen last year, I would say one of the most stunning train ride in the world
You are welcome! I love that train ride, and will soon publish a video about it :)
Breathtaking scenery. So clean. The food looks wonderfully fresh and delicious.
The highway is so clean. No trash. No graffiti. Norway is a travelers dream. Not sure I could love it in the frozen winter, though.
Thank you! As we say “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing” ;) Just dress up in warm clothes and you can enjoy winter here as well !
Thanks very much for the video. I am now in Holland heading to Denmark tomorrow and I will make this trip from Bergen to Oslo in 10 days. So it was great to see it beforehand.
Super! I wish you a great journey over the mountains 🏔️
How fun ! Hard to believe it has been 4 years since I toured there with you !

What a delightful travel video! Thank you, Pal. 😀
Wow, Norway has so many wonderful nature spots! 🌳🌾🎋🐿🌳🐇🐇🌳🍄
My favorite part of the day is the few evening hours before sunset. This is the most enjoyable time to be in nature, walking around, enjoying the trees and the cool evening air.
Hi Anthony! Thanks for watching the video:)
I agree, the hours before sunset are wonderful. One can feel how the day is slowly settling in, and the light is always the most enjoyable at those hours
Very very very very beautiful thanks again.

Love watching this trip, my family is from Oslo, and Bergan, thank you for giving me a glimpse of those special places.

I worked at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo for 3 years. In 1983 had to drive from Oslo to Bergen round trip in early March. Snow covered and hard to drive, especially with a rear wheel drive American car (stationwagon). Would not recommend doing this again. Probably very beautiful in the summer.
Sounds like quite an experience! I’m glad I did not get any snow up there
I enjoyed every second of the video!! Thank you!
Glad to hear that! Thanks for watching:)
Outstanding video Pål. The landscapes are stunning. Thank you for taking us back to the beautiful city of Bergen. It has a special place in our hearts.

Hei Hei glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Once again you set the bar so high I'm almost a little jealous 👏🏻🇳🇴 your storytelling skills is so damn good, and once again you show how you can tell a amazing story with carefully selected clips and good VoiceOver. I really like the way you manage to keep the sound quality with the voiceover and talking to camera so close. 🎥 And the way you go from one place to another with the map and great b-roll... well, from a videographer point of view, there is so much to like in this video. I had to see it twice, one just to enjoy and the other time just to take notes of the best part and look how you did it 🤣 Glad to see I could return some of the favour, and you made great use of the footage. really enjoyed this episode. And the Kistefos Museum is high on my bucket list. I would love to go down there in winter time to catch some great lights and showcase some of the beauty down there. Bravo mate, bravo 👏🏻
Thanks a lot Thomas! And thanks again for the amazing drone footage 😍 I was very impressed with the Kistefos museum. I think they close down in mid-October, but I guess the outdoor area will still be accessible. And yes, with some falling snow and great light on The Twist and the river one could get some magical shots. Let me know if you go there and I might meet up with you
@@norwaywithpal Yeah, I think there can be alot of cool things to work with when Norway transform into winter wonderland 👏🏻 I will let you know 🔥Keep up the great work

You welcome, thanks for watching the episode. Hug from Norway :)
I was in the early 1980 in hogenwick ? Working 6 weeks with disabled people. Someone had to drive to Oslo and took me along. That might have been the same way that you drove. But the mountains where all covered with moss it looked like. This landscape I have never seen anywhere and not even on TV since. Best trip of my life. Amazing that you swam in the water. I jumped in there and straight out it was sooo cold. We also encountered goats that went to the farm to get molken. The guy told me in Norge the Farms are fenced in and the animals roam free. Don’t know if this is still the case. Now I live on the other side of the world, but I like to experience Norge again.
Sounds like you had an amazing stay in Norway! Probably it was the same road that you drove 👍
Hey Pål. Southern Norway in autumn sun looks wonderful and your little yellow T3 was a perfect fit. I have hitch hiked almost the full length of Norway from south of Oslo to Kirkenes via North Cape and this reminded me of that journey. Amazing scenery. That waterfall…!!
Thanks again for a great video mate

Hi! I have done that journey in the mid 1970s before the bridges were built and used the ferry. Was travelling by car from Gothenburg, Sweden to Bergen. I can remember driving along and stopping at the "stavkyrkan" it's beautiful. We met a flock of sheep walking along the road close to that church. I remember the steep and winding road down not far from that huge waterfall... the height terrified me. We drove over the Hardangarvidda over night but is was around midsummer so wasn't really dark. That journey has stayed with me during all these years and is something I'll never forget . Thanks for the memories.
Hi Maureen, nice to hear that you have such fond memories of this journey! The road down from the waterfall was even steeper back then when you went there :o Thanks for your comment, and thanks for watching the episode
