It is! If you go, try to have as much time as possible, the country is bigger than you think and there are so many amazing places. Most people only stay in the south and middle of Norway, but Finnmark and the North are stunning too 🤗
@@SecretTravelGuide Already started planning my trip, 3 months split between Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland. Hopefuly I'll get to see a fair bit, and the North appeals to me the most.
That’s amazing! I basically did the same but without Iceland. As a Tipp: traveling through Norway takes much time because they don’t have fast streets in the North. However, Finland for example has, so you can travel very fast via Finnish streets up north. Sweden also :) I wish you a great time and awesome memories ☺️
@@SecretTravelGuide Initially to the South, if time permits then to North. As you already showed in the video that there might be snow in August!😶🌫 thanks for pointing out. It will help us go there better prepared
Thanks 🙂 We just went to the museum (which is also an office) and booked it form there, here is the google maps link: Breheimsenteret maps.app.goo.gl/AkUym7SwbrhKBmpv8?g_st=ic
Thank you Iwalani! July is the best month for Norway, you will have a great time. I honestly don’t remember, but there are plenty companies and all Norwegians are very friendly ☺️
Great video, but has some errors. For exapmple, it's JostERDalSbreen, not Jostalbreen. Quite a few letters missing :) And just to clarify, you will NOT see the northern lights (aurora borealis) in the summer months, that's from late september to early april, and almost only in cold clear weather.
We travelled one month through Norway, it’s up to you, but the distances are pretty far and there are no highways in the North, so driving takes some time 😉 Norway is probably one of the safest countries in the world!
Amazing! When I retire I will follow your route but I would like to get your idea of what would be a great route to see norway in 6 days in November from Oslo. Thanks. It would be a big help. Out of this ten what would be possible to go in 6 days. Thanks so much
The beauty of Norway is that you don’t need to travel to the „top places“ because there a plenty of unique places wherever you are! The whole country is so beautiful, you literally cannot end up in a bad place. I can only recommend to stick to the south to avoid long travel distances just to run to specific places instead of enjoying your limited time. The south is beautiful, checkout the Telemark region for example or the Hardangervidda Nationalpark and of course all the small islands on the south coast with their pretty houses 😊 I wish you a fantastic time!
Les: Have you already made your plans for November? If not, here are my thoughts: I've traveled extensively in Norway. If you have 6 days and are visiting Oslo, you are going to be limited, more or less, to the southern part of the country (e.g., Loften and Nordkapp would be too far). November may also not be a great month for some of the hiking and outdoor activities mentioned in the video...unless you don't mind potentially miserable weather and have the right clothing. So, with that said, I would probably plan on 2 days in Oslo and then take the train to Bergen with a side trip to Flam/Aurlandsfjord, and a day or two in Bergen (or in the area). If you have to also leave from Oslo, then you'll need a day to get back. Keep in mind travel in Norway is generally slow, so although it may only be 100 miles, it could easily take 3+ hours to get from Point A to Point B. Another option, instead of taking the train to Bergen, would be driving from Oslo to Aalesund, which is near the Atlantic Ocean Road featured in the video (I'm actually thinking of doing this in January with my daughter). In my mind, northern Norway -- let's say above the Arctic Circle, so that would include Bodo, Lofoten, Tromso, Nordkapp -- is easily a 2 week trip in itself.
Preikestolen directly translates to " The Preacher's Chair "... the up high in a church where the preacher/pastor/minister/priest/whatever stands on in ceremonies.
@@swedishpsychopath8795 and that's what I said wasn't it??? Except I didn't remember the English word. The Norwegian Word for pulpit is Prekestol. Sod off!!!
The traveling times are return times, meaning f.ex. it takes 4 hours to walk to the Pulpit rock/Prekestolen and back down, not just one way. Same with Kjeragbolten. It's 3 hours up and 3 hours down.
And DON'T wear slippers or flip flops😂 wear proper shoes... So many accidents. Guess what the woman - who they rescued by helicopter - was wearing 🙄 ...

Please, don't let anybody give you any number of places which you have to visit in Norway. It will destroy you vacation. Norway you will find so many beautiful places that if you have a goal of seeing all of them, you will never get a chance to enjoy any of them. Remember that it is more than 2400 kms from the south to the north of Norway. Pick a handful of places which are located in the same region and take your time to enjoy them, as well as any sidetracks of the main that you are hitting.

I only speak Ukrainian. I am using google translator. Therefore, please excuse me if the translation is bad! I am from Western Ukraine. I am a nurse and I save lives. I live now in Germany. I need a lawyer to file, with other disabled citizens of Ukraine, a lawsuit against Norway. My husband defended the rights of disabled people and Ukrainians in Norway against Russian-speaking citizens of this NATO country. The Norwegians took my disabled husband to Moscow AFTER: anti-war pickets of my husband in the Russian Federation, his defense of the rights of Ukrainians in Norway, the issuance of documents to my husband by the Norwegian Red Cross for his close relatives (Polish servicemen repressed by the Russians), sentencing his defender to prison (in married to a citizen of Finland for 25 years) in Belarus, who reported the crime of the Norwegians against the Ukrainians and was recognized as a Political prisoner. My husband and his lawyer warned the Norwegians about the coming war, but they did not believe him. The husband was kidnapped and the war began. I live close to norway and know for a fact that this is incorrect. Prekestol has nothing to do with chairs. It means the pulpit in a church.
