    Thank you. This is the most thorough instruction I have seen. What should who has had bilateral mastectomy do if lymph nodes have been removed on both sides and lymphedema on both sides? Where do you pump to?

    • @oncopelvicpt
      @oncopelvicpt  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the feedback, I’m so glad it’s helpful! In general, if lymph nodes are removed from both sides, then the fluid would get pumped down to the groins and skip going across the chest

    great video- very clear. Just a question- in my CLT training we were taught not to stimluate axilla area if lymph nodes were removed . You mentioned that its good to do to help support the remaining lymph nodes. is this based on newer research?

    • @oncopelvicpt
      @oncopelvicpt  6 месяцев назад +1

      Great question! Yes, there is newer research showing the most common drainage site is to the ispilateral (same side) axillary lymph nodes. There are limitations to the studies, but positive findings and I have incorporated them into my practice! Here’s one study:

    • @oncopelvicpt

      I’m so happy to hear helping! To manage fibrosis and lymphedema, it’s recommended to wear compression. Check with your lymphedema therapist for individualized recommendation though!

    • @oncopelvicpt

      Hi! With manual lymphatic drainage of the arm, you start at the shoulder and work your way down (the hand movement is always up toward the shoulder)

    Hi Alex! I have mild lymphatic swollen left arm and have been wearing compression sleeve (arm only) during day time for two years. In the past few months my left hand fingers and palm feel numb. My question: I have been practicing your left arm massage techniques two times a day for more than a month now, can I stop wearing the compression sleeve daily if I keep on practicing the massage?

    • @oncopelvicpt
      @oncopelvicpt  Год назад

      Hi! Please check with your lymphedema therapist for guidance on wearing compression and if you have the right type of compression. Typically, recommendations are to wear compression daily for lymphedema management.
