Great video, one recommendation. When butting up fascia, bevel at 45 degrees to be hide the but line.

Good job and methods when working alone. You make it look easy. When you used the finishing nails to fasten the gable trim to the fascia you can install the upper one angled down and the lower one angled up to lock joint. Nails put straight in can be pried out with trim movement.

Thank you so much for this series! What are the width of fascia and other trim boards? I'm going to purchase same LP trim materials for my shed.
Hi Nikita! The trim boards are a mix of 1x4 and 1x6 (actually 3.5" and 5.5" wide, respectively). I used the wider ones on the corners of the shed and around the outside of the door openings, and the narrower ones were used in the doors themselves. For the fascia, I believe I purchased 16" wide pieces and cut them down to the exact width I needed... something like 13" or 14". Best of luck with your shed!
Hello. I see you listed the material used in the trim. Is it what you used for the lap siding as well? They look similar.
Yes, the siding is LP SmartSide. It's from the same company and product line that I used for the trim, so everything matches. Thanks for watching!
The flashing have to stay out at the head

eh, then I have more nail holes to fill.
When I put up fiberboard siding it was not blind nailed but face nailed.. so putting a little bit of putty in another nail hole never bothered me. I will say you do very good videos, really diligent and quality work. I assume you never even worked in the trades...
would have used some construction adhesive to join the corners and some screws. trim nails will totally shear off or separate over time. also down the road, instead of using caulk or Spackle to fill the nail holes DAP makes a great product www.homedepot.com/p/DAP-Platinum-Patch-16-oz-Advanced-Exterior-Spackling-Paste-18741/303781000 it has something along the lines of sand (silica maybe?) in it and it is better than spackling, doesn't shrink like caulk, and isn't as hard to apply as wood filler.
What brand of trim material did you use?
Great question! I used a product from LP called SmartSide - it's an engineered wood product. You should be able to find it (or something like it from a different brand) at a local building supply company (not necessarily Lowes or Home Depot).
Odd question... what kind of camera and software do you use for filming and editing?
Hi Chef - I shoot on a Canon 6Dii, with a Canon 25-105L as my primary lens. I mix in other lenses as needed. I edit with DaVinci Resolve. I'm happy to answer any other questions (odd or otherwise) that you may have. Thanks!
