Paul used the wrong kind of screws. Look at the head of the ones he used. A screw that is suitable for a pocket hole will have a flat underside of the head. Paul's screws are going to act like a wedge and potentially split the wood.

Awesome video about the doors. So many tips for people like me who have never done this stuff before and need all the advice they can get (like the overlap, the gapping, the door stops, etc.). Also, great to be able to find the hardware and equipment you recommend. The ladder safety system looks amazing. The worst part about going up on the ladder is getting down, and that looks like it would make a huge difference, having something to hold the ladder steady as you took the first step back onto it.

Hi Paul! Thank you for all of your shed videos! I am just finishing up building my 12x8 shed, mostly based off of your RUclips vids. I just need to build the doors now. I did a bit of small sheds, additions, and shingling with my dad around 15 yrs ago, but needed some refreshers and you have been a great resource and confidence builder for me. I really appreciate you! That safety for the ladder is awesome! Wish I had that when I did my shingling as a guy can always use that sense of safety and also not scar up his drip edge & shingles when in a hurry to get it done before rain comes. Keep up the great work, my man. You are an inspiration to us DIY’ers who ask ourselves “can I do this on my own?”. God bless.

The safety rails are an awesome idea! I find it hard to find the rungs on the way back down and the added extension would make it much easier and safer to climb down.
    A few safety tips though:
    1. If you have the ability to tie the ladder off to something, like the columns on the porch, tie the ladder up before ascending for the first time.
    2. Be sure to make use of the feet on the ladder for placing it on soft surfaces. Most quality straight/extending ladders have feet that flip up to become 'spikes' to help it dig into the ground where applicable. This will prevent the bottom from sliding out on slick, soft surfaces.
I've learned quite a lot from you and am glad I subscribed! Thank you and hope to be learning more from you as time goes on.

I have the old style brackets. They work well when you take the time to put them on. I didn’t take the extra 5 minutes to put them on once. The ladder slipped sideways due to uneven ground. I had a very painful bruise on one foot but no broken bones. I always take the time now to be safe. I really like the extensions you demonstrated. 👍🏻👍🏻

Great video as usual. A couple of things I noticed, That 2x4 sure was wet, you could see the water running out of the wood when you were demonstrated how to make a pocket hole. I also notice you don't use eves troughs on your home. That rail system you add to your ladder is fantastic. Nice of you to help out the inventor.

The safety rail kit is a great idea, I would feel much safer when going on the roof. I loved the tricks shown for installing the doors!
