Great to see the vid. I learned so much from your vids. Am a 66 yr old female who redid 2 bedrooms and my kitchen using your tips. I found spraying with hot water softened so fast, the oatmeal came off EZ.
I want to know more about that little gun.... I got a hopper a million years ago and did one room and made the biggest mess and it was so heavy!!!! I have a 20 year old home with popcorn throughout and it is THOUSANDS of dollars to get it done. I'm game to try it again myself with the right help and tools!!!! Thank You, Paul!
That little gun is great for very small areas, but anything more than about 3'x3' is going to get real pricey. You can check them out at most any Sherwin Williams store.
Thank you Paul. It’s nice to see you again, hope your health is doing great. I have popcorn ceilings I keep putting off removing them thinking surely they will come back in style!!
Good morning Paula, thank you so much. It's good to get back in the saddle. I hope this time I will stay... I'm just getting my head straight enough to concentrate. I love doing projects and videos so I promise I will do my best. I lost a few ponds but fealing good again! Have a great day!
You make it look so easy! That scraper contains a lot of the mess. Our popcorn ceiling looks terrible but I have been avoiding the job of removing it (I also need to make several repairs to the drywall on the ceilings). Your video might be enough to get me started.
You can do it! It’s not as bad as most people think. I used to be intimidated by drywall but it’s actually not difficult, just a little aggravating….lol thanks!
I had A Drywall guy come and redo spots on my popcorn ceiling instead of opening a Can of "0h Crap"!! Lol. He did an awesome job. I just repainted it and looked Brand New! Maybe if I was younger.
I just finished removing all the popcorn from my ceilings. I think its sorta a trade off. Yeah the bags work but they slow you down as you fill them fast. Also keeping them on the device isn't easy. I opted for coveringthe floor/walls, scraping the ceiling and letting it fall, then rolling up the plastic and hauling it out. It seemed to go easy enough.
Easy Pro Texture looks like an AWESOME tool! Great video! I like that popcorn removal tool as well, and your great insight on using folder binder clips!

Oh my gosh, I was getting so many gouges and it was so difficult. I didn't realize how wet it needed to be. I thought it was just supposed to lightly mist. This was so helpful! Thank you!!!!
Good morning Kassie! Another tip is to make sure your drywall blade is perfectly straight, you also want to scrape on a slight angle. If you hold your blade on a steep angle it will want to dig in the drywall. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment! Have a great day and thank you!😊
I had watched a bunch of your videos several years ago and then lost track of your channel. The folks recently had a new roof put on and I was looking at Tom Silva installing drip edge the other day. Not so fast folks. Have a sample analyzed before removing these ceilings. I had some analyzed, and it contained Asbestos. So it has to be removed by a specialist, and is a hazmat situation. Inhailing Asbestos dust can be hazardous to your health. I have also been informed most homes constructed before 1980 with these ceilings contained Asbestos. A neighbor of mine had these ceilings removed. The person had to suit up with a special mask, and had to use a portable shower that was set up outside when exiting. The waste had to be bagged, and disposed of at a site nearby that accepted hazardous waste.
