The number of times when crocheting I hear myself say "I'll just skip this, it'll be fine" only to fifteen minutes later say "Oh that looks terrible I hate this" 🤣You are all of us!!
Love it period. Would make it period. No, I mean I would really make it "period". I would not have the glitter yarn, but my guess is, that those gals way back when woulda really loved it!
And here I am feeling a bit silly… When you said a tube scarf in my mind I saw a cowl thinking you’d never get that over your head… 😂 When the penny finally dropped I actually thought it was fantastic and clever. Making it that way instead of using two strands makes a softer and more pliable fabric in the end… Those antique patterns really are excellent teachers…
Are you related to Dr Ken Berry who hates carbs?❤❤❤ Your username made me smile ❤😍
my favorite series on youtube!!
Mine too!
Mine, too! ❤
Mine too.
Mine too!!!
I’m going to make one like this one. ❤❤❤😊 gonna be busy this weekend.😊😊😊
Victorian Beetlejuice! Love it! Lols & hugs
That what I thought too lol 😂
I must say, the victorians knew their stuff when it kept to staying warm, I think tube scarfs really do hold the heat, especially with all of this little air pockets once double over! Another great video there DCI Corinna xxx
It's very cute. I think you did a great job with such a vague pattern. I think the shells with the net edge and fringe is cute but still looks vintage.
I just opened RUclips this popped up first and i did the ooh dance, mystery pattern time ❤
Many "off the cuff" decisions have yielded beautiful works of art!
It's purty!
Very difrent nice double scarf 👌
This is very pretty, the yarn was a good choice. I would make it
I found one of my Mom’s patterns from the 40’s. Imma send it to you!
I just bought the yarn - dark red merino and cream - starting right after dinner. I might have enough for some fingerless wrist warmers ... Oohhh, can't wait! 🎉❤🎉 Thank you for your inspirational wonders you show us!
Wonderful!
Very cute, I know it will look good too on those two colors you showed first, marron and beige.
I believe the mesh work is tatting. It’s a lovely pattern.
You could make a wine bottle cozy or decorative hanging basket out of this pattern.
I think it turned out very cute and I loved the black and white with the sparkle and shimmer that was beautiful.
You also have 2 #3's 🙂 Yeah, I think just skip 6 in order to work in every 7th stitch. Seems like a scarf or muffler. Pretty pattern!! You did great figuring that out! LOVE these mystery patterns!!
When it said "join" I think the pattern ment to that's when you join your second colour. So it wasnt a tube scarf just and ordinary scarf which would also make sense why it was worked as rows in the pattern rather than rounds.
I LOVE ❤v the sparkle and the shell pattern. Celebrate the beautiful and useful scarf! 🎉
I love the scarf! Great job!!! 😊
I've been watching you for a while now Corinna 😊, I'm amazed how you decipher these horribly written old patterns. I really love the style of this scarf!! Thanks for this one. It's beautiful and it gives me a new idea of adding mesh to a scarf or garment. Well done Sis!! Thank you!!
Fun to come. Excited
Yay! Nice to nap to while I recover from bronchitis! ❤❤
That looks so pretty, yes I’d love some of that glitter wool. Thank you❤
It’s called “Glisten “ by Joann Big Twist 🤗
What a great scarf! I'd go long with it. I have loads of mohair to use up, which I rescued from a charity shop.
Wonderful!
Omg!! I watch you all the time and never noticed i wasnt subscribed!! I wondered why i never got notifications. I solved that issue!
Very attractive combination of colours. Well done on working out such a vague pattern!
Thank you! 😊
Very interesting! I hadn't thought of making a scarf that way, but it would be nice and thick.
I like the idea of a tube scarf.
Although I have many scarves, this one is so unique. it's funny because it ended up being so long and wide that it's the perfect pattern for a bolero sleeve. 🤪 thank this good video! 🧡
Beautiful colors great work off the cuff, great decisions you made. Perfect scarf.
Personally, I think some other style of netting would have worked better, but your scarf still looks very nice! And great job making sense of yet another vague pattern! I'm starting to think that the ones without pictures were mysteries for the crocheters back then too.
For us to see the black color easier, please place a light colored towel down on your work surface.
Wow this is gorgeous you done a great gob
Thanks so much 😊
looked like there was 2 of no 3 too,. i would make it :)
Hi Corrina, i have always wanted to crochet things, but could only do so if someone had started the the crotchet off and then only granny squares. YOU however have inspired me to give it a go... i feel confident that with your tutorials and wonderful soothing voice, i will succeed and for that i thank you. I suffer with anxiety and depression with which comes self doubt. So what you have instilled in me is the courage to try... I think you are an amazing woman. X❤
Oh I love that! and thank you so much :)
This is so cool! I think I'd like to try one with a macrame edging!
Also, I like to pull fringe through with a latch hook. It makes life so much easier. Especially when they're going through small stitches.
You should do one when one of those numbers fall out of the bowl
Very pretty 😊
This was fun to watch.😊 Thanks
I love it. I think they double up because it was much colder back than. I want to do one in red and white.
I like it. I'd make it longer for me.
Nifty neato!😊
Very cute 💕 could be sewn together to make cowl...instead of fringe and mesh...
I think it will be a cute scarf! For the mesh, I usually use a ch 3 when I'm making mesh. it's always worked for me :)
I love this!
hiya corinne! "i dont have a clue what i'm doing, really" girl, youve got the patience of a saint!! its still pretty and i think you did a fine job. xoxo
I grew up in a lobster fishing community/family and netting was worked to make bait bags for the traps. It was worked over a mesh board so that all the openings in the net would be the same. There were different sized boards for different sized meshes for different nets. You would load the twine on to a netting needle and there is a process where you bring the needle with the twine through a loop and around the mesh board ad tie a knot at in the twine at the top of the mesh board locking that loop that is on the mesh board in place. You would continue around the net bag making all the loops the same mesh size. Spent many hours watching my dad make bait bags during the winter to be ready for fiahing in the spring and summer.
Ohh! Thank you 😊
Make a matching [what they called] "**Muffler**" to put your hands in.
Perhaps line it with felt or sweatshirt fleece.
(Just an idea so you don't have to wear-and lose 🧤gloves)
What a great idea for a vintage ensemble.

I get so inspired watching this series. The vintage patterns are so beautiful
I like it 😎
Makes me think of the sandworm in Beetlejuice. I think it turned out pretty snazzy!
I love it, it is a timeless piece. All the scarves I make are tube scarves, it eliminates the pesky curved edges.😂🤣
it's beautiful
love watching your videos, you do a great job, love this style
Thank you so much!
Love it!🤩
I love it!
You taught me something today. I've never seen a tubed scarf. That sounds crazy, doesn't it. But I've never seen or heard of making a scarf in the shape of a tube. I like this. Regardless of the yarn I use, i think it'll turn out better because you won't have edges that curl up. I think it'll lay better on you is what I'm saying. I need to make this. Thank you so much! ❤❤
Actually, if I'm knitting a scarf, I make a tube and sew the ends up. There's another method, but I'm still learning. Flat knitting tends to curl without a border, but a tube does not. For what it's worth...
Love it👍👍💜💜
Ooooooo it's a muffler!
Corinna, make a mesh like we do to make an overlay crochet , the dbl crochet ch 1 sk 1, 1 dbl, repeat this , turn your work and repeat the same row over and over.
Nice❤but I think that for the netting the scarf still should have a tube😅but this is loooking good, too 😊
Love it, sure i will make that
The pattern talks about adding a knitted cuff. I think it is supposed to be an old school “muff” or hand warmer, kinda like the kangaroo pouch on a hoodie but without the sweater attached.
I love it..I have just recently discovered your channel ..I am "hooked" on watching you and been telling everyone I know about you too
When making the 'mesh' with the 'ch5, sc' I've seen some patterns where they do the last 'ch5, sc' as a 'ch3, dc' to end up in the middle of the ch5 space for the next round.
I really like it Corinna. You did a fantastic job as always with a vague pattern! I hope you get some wear out of it 😊
Thank you! 😊
Love it ❤
This game was so much fun to watch! It's really a nice scarf. I can see matching cuffs as mentioned. And this being adapted to almost any article such as a purse. Thank you!
❤your work!
😊
Not sure if you ever ended up finding it out, but the netting they're talking about there is making net like fish nets. The 'mesh' was the flat stick or dowel they used to get the net holes a uniform size. I'm actually trying to teach myself how to do it out of some old sources now!
Very pretty! Thank you for sharing! I really enjoy these mystery vintage videos!❤
Without specific instructions it is hard to even assume what they 'routinely' did. One thought... since you had an extra opening at the end... instead of making do, consider making that extra space in the middle of the scarf instead of at an end. Then it looks like it was always supposed to be that way. Any sneak peaks coming for the next tutorial?
all I can say is someone asked if I have a certain pattern, I did not, but I found one, but it's more than just a pattern :)
Hi, Corinna! Just wanted to let you know that you're an absolute delight to listen to. I usually have you on while I'm crocheting (right now, I'm making a sweater out of this fine and super soft thread, using a 1.25mm hook, with the linked DC! I modify it in places to use my beloved HDC, instead, lol) because it's so relaxing, listening to you. You are a very cheeky and pleasant person and I'm grateful for your videos.
Also, I do not know if I've commented this before or maybe I just thought of doing so, but if you'd like a solution to your going off camera issue, I have one! When you get ready to film, just place something on the couch where you can see it's centered on camera, and then keep your work over it. That way, you don't have to keep checking and readjusting your camera; all you have to do is make sure that your hands are above the mark! Anything, like a piece of tape, or perhaps even a pincushion in your couch - just anything that will stick without moving around. That way, you won't have to worry about whether or not your work is centered in the camera because so long as your hands are over it, you are! I hope that helps if you do try it out. I'm not one who makes videos, but I heard this somewhere else and it seems to work a charm.
thank you so much! thanks for the tip too :)
Make sure Vikings are Adequately stocked with snacks to not get multiple #23. Merlin might have to take on extra supervisor role. 🤣 this is great for winter season… I’m choosing green and yellow to match tractor. Ride in winter in style and warmth. Tube style is great…
Just a suggestion when it jumps out it may mean it wants to be tried. So don't always ignore it.
It's beautiful.
This turned out very cool!!
I don't know how you do it but you always make it work! I love the scarf! ❤🎉
😊 thank you
Hi, Vintage Crochet. This turned out cool 😎, I bought a scarf at my local second chances and I was intrigued by the way it was made, couldn't quite figure out how it was made, Voila! This method is it! Different stitch pattern, but thanks for picking (lol) this one. 😊
It’s really cute! What you understand about vintage crochet is amazing. I would have never figured out that they had to double the scarf for it to be warm! I think this scarf is very festive in black and silver.
very pretty. Love the sparkle, it would go great with your 1960's black turban.
It’s beautiful and I love the ends of the scarf, for sur this will be my next project. Thank you and I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New year 🎉🎄
It’s cute, I’m glad you figured out the pattern because I would have been lost.
I love your ability to improvise. Beautiful scarf.
Thank you so much!
I guess you found 24 from last time, was'nt 24 missing? I am happy to watsh this time. This is a nice shawl. And cuffs = arm warmer in that patter would look very nice. I can picture that pretty well as style. Maybe even with leg warmer in one of the colors from the schawl. (a knitted, beerry toned, medi long dress with ankle boots or over knees a long cardigan or coat a black hat and this schal with matshing arm warmer)
Again a great job of figuring out the best outcome of what was written for the pattern !! Looks pretty !! Thank You for another great video !!! ❤ it !!!
The crochet I was doing in my head (my real hands are busy crocheting gifts) was waaaay off. You've developed quite the knack for correctly interpreting the pattern and seeing through the "Victorianess" of it all. 😂
I can TOTALLY see some matching fingerless gloves with that shell design edging! 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
Love it
Your pattern reminds me of Wednesday that I watched on Netflix. Turned out really well and looks modern. Fabulous video.
👏👏👏😉 Yet again, you did a wonderful job with this vintage pattern. I'm going to make this and I'll finish it with V stitches plus the tassels. Thank you for the video.
You are so good Corinne wish I could crochet but I will keep trying thank you for sharing with us ❤❤❤
I love your videos so much, everyday searching for another, you are the Best !
I love this glittering yarn so much and the scarf turned out very pretty. May it looks very cool together with your whit poncho. I'm looking forward to your next video :) Thank you Corinna🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
Thank you! 😊
Love it!
You did this up very nicely! Its not one I'd make, but I love watching you figure it out and go for it. All the best to you & Happy Halloween 🎃 🇨🇦
It turned out really good! You have a double #3 in your stack of patterns
I think it looks very nice, I would wear it ❤
