Oh, you definitely nailed this one. And you deserve to be proud of yourself because that was an absolute marathon! Not only were the Victorian's obsessed with death and the occult, but they were apparently sadistic, as well. To write patterns like this, they HAD to be! Good on you. This was SO confusing, I'm sure I never would've made it. 💖

That would make an elegant pincushion. I see it tacked to a round, overstuffed puff made of pink satin. I'm envisioning a rose pink, but really, any color with sufficient contrast to show off the medallion would be lovely.

I'm so glad the algorithm put your channel on my radar a couple of weeks ago. I just learned how to crochet a year and a half ago, but couldn't read patterns (I was only able to follow video tutorials). Watching this series has helped me tremendously with understanding crochet patterns and now I have a newfound love for making doilies. I am so appreciative of the work you put into your videos. Thank you.

🎉 you did it!!! So proud of you! As they say, practice makes perfect. Everything you tackle mystery patterns from this Era, you get better at solving the puzzle. This is beautiful. I have a list of projects I desperately want to make once I finish a blanket I am making for my sister and brother in law. This is at the top of the list. ❤❤

I love that you have done so many patterns from so many different eras that you recognise the language and can estimate the year of the pattern.
But what a puzzle this one was! Because I'm used to UK terms I was sitting watching almost yelling what the pattern meant. Sorry I couldnt help in real time.😢

I ❤️ vintage mysteries, I live in U.K. but crochet American as I think it makes more sense (I convert U.K. patterns to US before I start the pattern) I can’t believe how you got the outcome from those instructions! You NAILED IT & you should be proud. Please keep these mysteries coming, some I will make others not, but I thoroughly enjoy them all. 👏👏❤️❤️🇬🇧

I’m so loving these mystery crochet sessions. I taught myself to crochet way back in the day I’ve always loved it. You got me rummaging through old books that where past on to me and a bit of thread. I almost got rid of the books but I’m a keeper. Anyway I used one from a magazine called Magic Crochet from 1995 and it has updated version of old patterns. They are partially written and then you follow a diagram. I ripped out as much as a crocheted it’s been a while but I love what I created. I’m an artist so have been doing art projects but I have added crochet into the mix again. Thanks. ❤

If I had your patience I would love to make it and make a valance or curtain sewing them all together like the “cut” shows but I’m already on “crazy meds” and I think doing all that would just throw me right over the edge. However I think I am going to make the baby poncho you made with the embroidery. When I finish that I’ll email you a picture of it but please don’t drop everything and wait for the picture because it could be awhile since I have way to many WIPs right now to finish. 😂. OOOOO! This would be soooo cute as a dresser scarf/ table runner with the petals in a poinsettia red and the other rows in a Christmas-y green! I know the color change increases the difficulty, but since you have to fasten off after the petals, and re-attach for the border, it's not that big of an issue. Also, "silk" here, tends to refer to the function or characteristics of the thread fiber (i.e. thin, shiny, strong and bright colors). It's kind of like how a lot of British English patterns refer to all yarn as "wool" whether or not the fiber is from an actual sheep or is acrylic.

I am trying to find a pattern I really like to make a curtain Valance in burgundy thread. So far I have noticed a lot of motifs are used. Then joining them is up to the crocheter.
My curtains are a burgundy/deep wine red colour. Has more of a blue undertone.
I have many projects lined up. Will be a long while before I get around to making a valance.

Same with long double crochets, long triple trebles, etc. A shawl Im working on has lots of long double and triple crochets. Love it! I might do some! ❤
