I like both of them, but the one with the six pickups look nicer. Maybe because I love pickups stitches so much. It gives patterns a very delicate look. Love watching your channel. I'm 78 years and love you doing them. I'm always anxious to see how it comes out.
I remember this one. I still think yours was the better border.
I think if you just use some spray starch on it and lay it flat, it will be fine. I like the 'Happy Mistake' better !
I really miss seeing delicate thread crochet decorating dressers and tables. Takes me back to the days of my Great Grandma❤

Spider web doilies are pretty. Your take on it is better than the original in my opinion!
I personally think yours is nicer your son is wonderful for doing this for all of us
I prefer your happy mistake,it looks more spiderwebby,the original pattern is verging on snowflakey

Looked like a spider web to me also. Your little accidental mistake, in my opinion, looks much prettier than the picture of how it was intended to look. I mean theirs is nice too, but yours looks neater and uniform. It is a beautiful doily. I congrats you again on a successful finish. I can not crochet with thread or hooks that size .but o my you do such a beautiful job .my granny made all of us a dresser set and a table cloth out of this small thread or string .it's so beautiful and I had them framed for my son and his wife .they are probably 100 yrs old .

I have this issue also
When making a picot you normally slip stitch into the first st of the chain not the stitches below the chain. Thats why your ch6 seems to be 1 ch to long. Your picot will be more defined and lacy.
It is a happy accident! I love it, and really, I am amazed at your ability and patience to work through the patterns. Compared to the pattern before, this was a joy to watch. 😊

Iprefer yours, the other one just doesn't cut it.
I love both but yours looks like seashells! A happy accident for sure
and yet another pattern I find unappealing in the original, but your version looks better. maybe it is just my eyes, or the photo, I dunno. Keep your version, the printed one is too "leggy" or something.
