Thank you so much for the pattern!
Получила огромное удовольствие от вашего рассказа! Спасибо! Горячий привет из города Нижний Новгород, Россия)
All hail Godey’s magazine !
I made a sontag last year from an 1895 pattern, and I have a pattern from 1915! They lasted quite a while! I love the name they go by in Scandinavian countries, which translates to “heart-warmer”. I would love to have a pattern for the white crochet one.
Love to see antique and vintage fabrics and fiber arts.
Great wee film , thank you sharing, kind regards Helen.
Thanks I had not known about the Songtags.
Thank you for that video, I was talking to hubby about Sontags recently, having knit several shawls recently I have downloaded the pattern, thank you for the link.
You are so welcome!
I love the Sontag from Outlander! Thank you!
Great video and demo! So nice to see actual historic shawls in action. A Sontag would be comfy to wear all day.
Wonderful. Loved it.
What a lovely video.. I've just seen the perfect shawl I've been looking for!
Thank you for making this interesting and informative video. I will definitely try to knit myself a Sontag!
I used to ride my horse through this village back in the 80s when the houses and shops were being assembled on the site! Good to know it's a museum village now! Liked and subbed from here in Newfoundland!
Thank you!!! I have been looking for one ☝️ of these patterns!! I bought an outlander pattern book, which they advertised it on the cover; only after the book arrived I discovered they had ‘modernized it! I was so upset because it didn’t look 👀 a thing the pattern on the cover. I am so grateful to have found your channel!! Thank you 🙏, now I can appreciate all the beautiful photos in the outlander pattern book, and stop complaining about the patterns!!😝
Glad it was helpful!
Loved this! Loved class trips to these kind of places when I was a kid, and I've visited Colonial Williamsburg years ago. You might add some SEO terms like historic shawls, vintage shawls, Colonial clothing. The reason I mention that is because I actually passed over this video a couple of times when I was looking for Sontag patterns. It wasn't clear to me from the video title that you would be modeling historic costumes. Sontag, by the way, is not a good search term. Apparently not a lot of people use it. Anyway, I can totally understand you enjoying your job. Love history. Love Outlander.
Sontag means sunday in German.
Elegant shawl falls were quite popular throughout the Victorian era. My great-great grandmother had sewn hers in with pleats because she was always a cheater when it came to looking like a lady. 😅 she bought brown buckskin boots because they were cheaper and scrubbed them with lime to lighten them to white as well.
Thanks! What wonderful stories of your GG grandmother! We suspect she wasn't alone in her practical approach!!
Thank you for this share of informations 💕
Do you know where we could find the pattern for the sontag by any chance? 🙏🏻🌸

@@PickeringMuse yes, I've just tried the link again and it's an 404 error... I just got some new yarn that would be amazing for the Sontag Shawl 🥰
I had to see, my last name is Sonntag
LOL!
Where is the link for the pattern? I wanted to make the older sontage!
