- As soon as I watched Shannon Makes video about CAPEtember this year I was thrilled that crocheters and kitters were invited. I had been thinking about making a practical sontag shawl. Here was a great excuse for a fun crochet project.

Thanks, im surfing for ideas for sontag. I never knew there was 'official " name. My Grandmother would just cross shaw in front and tuck ends in her waistband of skirt.
I think there may be different names for this type of shawl in different areas, I just know sontag.
Just came across your video..loved your process. I would like to share that sontag is the german word for Sunday. It is pronounced with a long o sound in son and the a in tag is like the a in the word all. So in actuality you have made a Sunday Shawl
