- Giving the new C10 some much needed love with a couple upgrades and a few mods. Can we make the lights work off the transmitter so they aren’t on ALL the time? Let’s do it!

Have same c 10. I put T’real aluminum shocks on mine. Adjustable. Love them.

I just ordered these tires and the set with the different tread pattern so I can try them both out , there still in the mail so I can’t comment on them yet , but they look good in your video, I’m hoping to fit a set to my T Hunter , as always I enjoyed your video, stay safe mate 🇬🇧

Old Man Emu = yellow painted rc4wd Superlift... I run the 100mm versions on my comp rig, the lightest rate springs with enough oil to ensure lubrication, not dampening... I have many sets of 80, 90, and 100mm Superlift and they are great.... DEPENDING on how you want to run your rig, tuning them can be more difficult....

Seamus RBNW yeah the light switch is basically something I buy when I buy a truck now lol. It’s just a given! I’m loving the old man emu shocks on my C10! I run them with no springs and it just does so well that I can’t change anything lol. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite shocks and I really haven’t even messed with tuning on them or anything. I put them on and they were ok. I pulled the springs and slapped them back on. Loved it so I’m still running them that way!
@@2fmrc I may have to give the Old Man Emu shocks a go... so far on my rig, the Hot Racing shocks seem to do pretty good... I'm taking it to the beach this weekend so I can do some more testing on it... good times.....
I have a few of that white controller on different rigs works really well I actually cut the cover off of it covered in conformal coating to waterproof it I did put a piece of heat shrink over it
Yeah I’m going to have to pick up some of then shocks.
Jeep broke I’m really liking them on this c10. They just seem to fit it well. I feel like the Hot Racing would probably do well on it also but haven’t tried them. I am running them on my Yota. Maybe I’ll do a swap one day and see how both trucks do with the opposite set of shocks!

I have the carisma shocks and combined them with the stock shocks. The articulation you get it’s around 50-60mm
luisLP5752 what truck are you running them on? I love them stock on my aws rig but they are a little long on some of the others.

I’ve seen some people use the stock top and bottoms with the carisma body but I just hate to take a good aluminum shock cap and replace it with the plastic ones. I was going to leave mine bone stock until the motor just burned up. Now it's time to pimp it out.

Yes they will but you’ll probably need a small #2 washer on them to keep them from pulling through the shock eye. I would probably recommend the Injora internal shocks now if looking to go with an internal spring shock. They weren’t available when I was using these old man emu.

Hey Matt, ive tried plugging the lights into aux channel and nothing happens. I read in the comments you have some sort of switch plugged into the truck? Where do I find that? Tks

Yes that’s correct plug into aux the switch is the channel 3 switch on the stock transmitter.... no extra switch just the plug and play.👍🏼
What is the extension your using it has a circuit in it?

Can you show us how you got the lights out of the bumper and into the headlights without breaking the tabs ?

Can I get a Y split servo connection to hook up the headlights and fog lights in order to turn them on and off from the transmitter?
A splitter will power them but you won’t have an on off option. You need this switch for that.

Did you have to drill the holes on the frame for the shock? Just got 2 set of these old man emu’s in and want to run this set up
No I used holes that were already there. Usually pull a screw from the esc tray or something and mount there.

Does this motor make it go faster? What would you recommend to make it go faster but still pretty easy to install
Which motor? Speed has a lot to do with gearing as well. You could go brushless and gain some speed. Really you want more torque for crawling vs speed. I have a brushless setup in my 4ws rig and it’s great. I don’t have it set up for speed though. I just liked the smoothness of the throttle and the power it has when needed.
@@2fmrc i put an FPv camera on it so i just want it a little faster but still be able to crawl.

@@BurgerurgerFPV different gearing for these things are pretty much impossible to come by. I’d say the easiest brushless (that would still crawl) would be the Holmes revolver motor with castle micro sidewinder esc. That’s what I’m running in my 4ws rig and it’s awesome! You just need the motor mount from shapeways.com that says it fits the revolver. Not sure but the revolver may be hard to come by and I know the esc is a bit hard to find atm. People are jacking the price of them up on eBay. I gave like $55 for my esc and $20-30 for the motor I believe. Everything is sort of hard to get at the moment though. I usually buy from eBay or amazon and look for the fast and free shipping on eBay lol

Hopefully they’ll come back in stock soon. I’d like to have another revolver motor for another build at some point.

Yeah they mount straight up. I used a #2 washer on the screws to keep them from popping through
Great tips! I bought the same switch for the lights but the problem I’m having is that the car won’t turn on if I leave the switch plugged in. It’s plugged into the lights and into the Aux port on the receiver. But if I turn it on, nothing happens until I unplug the switch. Any ideas? The battery is fully charged.
Huh? That’s really odd. Never had that issue. I’m not sure what you could do about that honestly!

@@2fmrc Well I got a replacement unit and the car now turns on, but it takes almost a full minute to do so! I guess it's progress! I think this will do fine for me, and if it starts to bug me, I can always unplug it before I'm about to turn it on if I don't feel like waiting.
I plugged my lights into the AUX but if I switch it one the lights don’t come on (my truck is bone stock) and now I tried plugging my lights into the original port and they won’t work
Do you have the switch I mentioned? You have to have it for the aux switch to turn them off and on. Did you plug the lights back in the correct direction when moving them back? Try flipping the connector over. Shouldn’t hurt anything but they won’t work if plugged in the wrong direction. Sorry if you already tried that. Just a couple ideas.

Will the stock radio control enough channels for remote light switch?
Where do u get the longer screw for shock relocation?
I just use the stock screw and moved to a location it could screw into the esc tray or something like that.
Oh haha I realized that the screw is longer. I just finally picked mine up after watching your videos since last November! I been playing with it for 2 hours in my living room. Dogs don’t enjoy it. 😂

@@2fmrc sorry for all the questions lol but what is a good size wheel I didn’t catch in this video what sizes the wheel tires were for matching up. I watched your tire video also. Trying to figure out what I want.
@@Spazin0ut almost all 1.0 wheels and tires will work together. There are several new tires out since that vid but I still love the Patagonia’s and the new (larger diameter) tsl boggers! Both are great mid size tires. The Patagonia’s aren’t great in loose stuff but are awesome on the rocks.

2FM RC mods
Sam Carmel I would probably start with wheels and tires. Stock tires are all pretty horrible. Add some wheel weights,steering links & servo next. Then you’re pretty well set. Maybe some shocks and that’s about all it really needs.
2FM RC I’ve got HR shocks, and some brass up front. Also the beadlock wheels from rc4wd. Which wheel weights fit in those wheels?
Sam Carmel fullsendrc.com has some that say they are for the rc4wd stamped steel beadlock. That’s the ones I run in all of mine. They work great and he ships fast. Great to deal with as well
