- On March 7th, 2023, an officer was called by school staff in reference to a drunk minor who had been misbehaving and was very uncooperative. She had also hidden a bottle of alcohol in her pocket and wasn’t taking it out. The female was charged with battery on a school personnel, resisting and minor in possession of alcohol.

I work in a juvenile detention center. Unfortunately, the public isn’t aware that the kids stealing their cars aren’t being held so I highly doubt this girl was held.

The parents are the ones that should be responsible for their own child care and should be charged with the same offense their child did my mom owns a daycare center and there are kids that are there when they open at 5:30am until they close at 6pm and it seems like the parents don't even listen to what the teachers say and some kids are always getting in trouble the parents could care less . Parents think the day care is supposed to raise them along with the tv computer and video games. How much time do you spend with your kids when they are in day care all day. Just to think these kids will be the next generation of politicians judges and the other responsibilities the worst thing seeing 12 year old girls getting pregnant and they don't even know who the father is. PARENTS WAKE UP AND START RAISING YOUR KIDS.

If this was my kid, I would literally slap the words right out of their mouth. I would NEVER tolerate this. And don’t tell me that is inappropriate, because sometimes you need to get people’s attention how you get it! That bottle would be GONE. Then again, my kids KNOW better. I am thankful every time someone tells me how kind and thoughtful they are. I was a terrible kid, and no doubt sounded like her at one point. But having kids made me realize you gotta be there for them - EVERY SINGLE DAY. I drive them to school, go to conferences, talk to the teachers, and keep an eye on report cards. I try to be here when they get home. I try to know friends, and people in their lives. I try to be involved. It makes a big difference. I am a parent and not a “friend”, and I love my kids. I want them to turn out right, ya know?! I would never tolerate this.

This is a situation where parents are causing emotional problems with their child by being in denial of their child's activities. This child is a repeater. In my experience as an educator, I have observed a significant shift in the dynamics between teachers and students over the years. During my school days in 1978, teachers commanded unwavering respect, and any form of defiance or disrespect was unthinkable. However, in today's educational landscape, it appears that the level of respect accorded to teachers has diminished considerably. It is concerning to witness the erosion of the value and recognition that educators rightfully deserve.
It was not necessary for the school to call the police.
School Personnel could have handled this without having the police get involved.

As soon as we meet mom we instantly understand where the problem originated from. This is what zero discipline looks like. And the worst part is that kids CRAVE structure. They thrive in it. The challenge, living up to a set standard and the feeling of pride when they accomplish these set goals and live up to the expectations set out before them.

I got busted in highschool (2005) for pot and alcohol, but I mean I was caught already, there was no need to be disrespectful and cause a scene. I just sat silent as they searched me and my stuff. Cops were called and obviously my parents. Mom was so ashamed and kept apologizing to the school and the officers. (I thought why are you not backing me up??? They went through my stuff!! Lol)Mom lost her mind the second we stepped in the house and I was grounded for what seemed like forever. Then she tore apart my room to see if I had anything else. I had random room checks from then on til I moved out. I was suspended and on suspension she made me scrub the grout in every room that had tile floor. I HATED it snd remember thinking my mom was overreacting and that other parents wouldn’t have freaked so badly. Now looking back, it was appropriate.

It is a double disgrace that the school personnel can not or will not help the officer when he struggles with the drunk student. If the rules/laws must be changed, then they must be changed. Notice, also, that the drunk child and her mother don't speak English, so are they even here legally? This arrogant child should IMMEDIATELY be expelled permanently.
They do speak English but there are pockets of Latin communities where they continue to speak Spanish etc the kids who are born in the US speak it and even have an accent
