- On May 21, 2022, officers responded to a reported assault. The caller stated that a woman, previously trespassed from the property, had entered her store and started causing a disturbance. She also threatened the surrounding customers. The woman was very hostile toward the lady and did not want the officer to speak with her. She continued to talk trash to the lady and created a disturbance. Once taken to the jail, the woman began hitting the officers. The incident was not recorded. She was charged with aggravated battery upon a peace officer, assault and breach of peace.

Not necessarily. State hospitals are for severe chronic mentally ill people who need long term care, or the criminally insane. She does need psychiatric care, but may get the right care by being committed into a county or private mental hospital.

What would you prefer, a separate court for anyone deemed to have "mental health issues"? Who makes that determination? Do they just "sentence" the offenders to terms in care facilities? Who qualifies for this separate, lesser punishment? Most criminals could be said to have some sort of "mental health issue" or they would be well adjusted citizens. And what happens when they are released? Are they "cured"? Do you just get institutionalized permanently, regardless of the severity of the crime? How do you sort "regular criminals" out from ones with "mental health issues"? A separate hearing before the trial? Or do the officers just decide if the person "seems" to have issues and just not press charges. In which case who and under what authority do they make the person go get help? They aren't charged or convicted of a crime in that case. People say this all the time, never seen many plausible explanations of how it's supposed to work.

The state hospitals house the " criminally insane" . Do your research before you make a false statement like that . The general public is to misinformed about what's actually going on with mental health in this country.

Don’t think the store did it right so now it’s a mess. People who don’t want to press any charges probably because they say too much trouble…all they want is them gone. This is what happens….if you call the cops then be ready to press charges before it gets to this.

The officers should have detained the perp in cuffs because she attempted to leave the scene of the incident multiple times as well as interfering with the investigation.
I have a cousin who was like this for a while, but that was due to head trauma after falling off an atv and bouncing his head off the asphalt at work. He ended up with gravel actually IN his head and wasn't expected to survive. He's all but back to normal, save for still getting massive headaches that can lead to seizures. Wonder what's up with this woman...
