I love how even though Guy is a ridiculously talented hair stylist/magician, he still asks lots of questions because he is keen to continue learning. A big mistake that some stylists make is not furthering their education once they've completed college/beauty school.
Guy needs to stop being so rude to his clients. I used to like him, but if I was in a chair with him yelling over me about how dry my hair is and how that automatically makes me a 'liar' about what's in my hair (because apparently all clients lie according to Guy) I wouldn't hesitate to get out of that chair and leave. So rude.
Georgea-Mae Bampton most clients do lie, I don't think he was calling all clients liars but other people don't get it unless they are a hairstylist . Things can go really wrong if we are not told correct information. We are just looking out for you and your hair
+BeautyByAnnabelle I know a lot about hair. I grew up basically in a salon since my sister and mum are hairdressers. I know that people have the capability to lie, but, at least where I'm from, literally no one lies about their colour or hair history since it's silly. He didn't have to be so upfront about his words, he was very rude in doing so. If my stylist spoke like that to me about my hair I would honestly tell them to fuck off, he's meant to respect his clients. Better yet, this woman was paying the two girls, so he can butt out with his ignorant comments.
Georgea-Mae Bampton okay I get that but there's always two sides. I don't know where you are from but I'm not the only who agrees that people do lie about it. Sometimes hairdressers are blunt and honest and it can work for some and not for others.
BeautyByAnnabelle I understand that, yes people do tend to lie. However, this video is up on his channel and on social media - he didn't have to blatantly call her a liar and say other rude things to her right in front of the camera.
I really wish I could find a stylist around me that does good perms and not the 80's grandma perm. I've called several high end salons with 'perm specialists' and every one of them say 'it's not possible, it will be much tighter than you think. You can't get loose curls with a perm. Beach wave perms don't exist. blah blah blah'. It's so frustrating...They work in the best salons in the city, but they're all still stuck in the 80's. Why are they even called specialists... /rant
yamaksy I'm think Brazilian blowouts are banned in the EU due to the high concentration of harmful chemicals. There are other straightening treatments you can get done though.
yamaksy hmm... It's banned in quite a few countries, maybe not all of EU. Brazilian Blowout is a specific brand of straightening treatments. It has been proven to release formaldehyde (a known carcinogen). They used to claim it didn't and then were forced to change their labeling due to a class-action lawsuit. People should know of the danger they're putting themselves through when using a product. PS Some salons will say the offer a Brazilian blowout as people recognize keratin treatments by that name, but are using other brands products.
Tabby Cat They literally give u a military graded oxygen mask :) Because the fumes are dangerous. And thus offsetting the "danger factor" it is an amazing procedure. p.s. If someone knows a hairdresser in Vienna - please recommend!
I remember back in the day me and my cousin got a perm at home together she used the small rods and I ended up using the larger rods, and she ended up w poodle hair and I got a very loose curl, more wavy, she was so happy w her tight poodle curl lol....

I don't think he meant to be rude, it seemed more like he said it to emphasize how much of a difference some products can make. Unfortunately, people lie to their hairdressers, who then have a much harder time treating the hair. He said she refused to tell them what she has done to her hair. I didn't see anything rude there. The video was meant to be educational, which can involve the harsh truth.
The moment I saw "digital perm" I knew we were in Korean styling! I am from Seoul and had so many different perms in my hair over the years. And they've all looked ultra natural that no one would know. Perms are so common in Korea. It's mostly a western way of thinking about 70's/80's outdated perms. I love Korea for being so up to date and innovative with hair styling.
@@claire4212 Oh, I just meant that the digital perm is an incredibly common/popular perm here in SK, with tons of new perms performed all the time. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised if the digital perm specifically did originate in Japan. The approach to hair styling is quite unique there too.

As someone with a lot of very fine, silky hair, a perm has been an absolute must for most of my adult life. yeah I totally agree, I didn't find him particularly offensive or anything. People learn from his videos and he has to be really honest to teach something. If he says that the clients hair looks totally perfect then does the pre-treatment anyways people are obviously going to be confused (I think that was the part anyone talks about, when he said her hair wasn't that nice?)

Hannah Isobel If you can't handle a professional telling you the truth about your hair, than there's something wrong with you lol He doesn't tip toe around it. Very forward. That's why I love him.
Star Light one no there's nothing wrong with you most people don't like being told their a liar, dry hair he could of been at least a bit nicer instead of offending her every 5 mins Asia also has a very different upbringing and are not used to this kind of behaviour towards each other
Back in the 80s I had a perm made, while I was at the hairdresser with my rods on and the perm liquids, I noticed a thin red colored stream of liquid coming from my head... it was my blood! The woman that did the perm had no idea about what she was doing and she said everything was normal, everything was OK, but it itched and bleeded so bad! And that perm was a nightmare for me, I wanted loose curls and they ended like tight afro curls, I was depressed for a month, it was awful. The worst part is that I even had to pay for that nightmare and that I even got the hairdressers laughing at me when I said to them the hair looked nothing as the photo reference I showed them... they said "You are not as pretty as the model".. I was 18 years old then, if anything similar happened to me today I would have sued them to the consumer office, I promise you. My experience was nothing like what you show here, all kindness and professionalism... and I was told the hairdresser I went to was a great salon... oooh, I could have gone to a worse one... or maybe there were not worse ones... Before that perm I had two other ones made and they were OK, I liked them, but that one was my last one. The salon closed about a year after that happened, it was not surprising for me if they treated their clients like they treated me.
OH NO! what an unprofessional hair dresser! I remember when my mom had a bad perm, she complained to the manager. She had to get her hair cut and the manager had to fix her hair and correct the perm.
Thank You for your words to all of you, this was long, long ago but it was so horrible I didn't forget about it. Some hairdressers are just not aware of how important their work is for the owner of the hair they have in their hands, the result of their work may be capable of so much harm and depression or, on the other hand, so much positiveness and a kick of self esteem in a person's life, it is unbelievable.
Oh wow, that's terrible... and I thought I had a bad perm experience! I had perms throughout my childhood, with no problems whatsoever. But when I was around age fifteen, I decided to get a "body wave," which is supposed to produce more of a loose curl. My stylist apparently put a few of the curlers in too tightly and the chemicals actually singed off my hair at the root in several places. The rest of my hair was badly damaged, and I had excessive hair loss for almost TWO years. My mom made me go back and complain, so the owner did give me about $100 worth of product for damaged hair... but still, I swore off all hair treatments involving strong chemicals after that!
although to some his attitude in the vid may seem abrasive, I find it refreshing that he's honest. Her hair was damaged and needed to be fixed, as clients we don't understand that whatever we do to our hair at home makes the hairdressers job to fix or change it much more difficult. We decide to cut our hair, go black or super dark, or we bleach our own hair and expect a hairdresser to wave a magical wand and make it perfect. Be honest with what you did with your hair and they can explain to you where you went wrong and how to tackle your hair to make it healthier and look more...pleasant.
If I walked in to my stylist with dry hair, she starts talking shit too. especially because I went from Grey to Black in 3 days and she is very upset I went somewhere else to do that instead of doing the steps. We don't know their relationship and he really wasn't ride, I see that all the time. Stop being extra sensitive.
Brittney Cobbs yes ! my stylist was all kinds of pissed at me bleaching my hair at home and screwing it up. all I could do was cover my face and laugh and say I'm sorry. (like it was her damn hair) lmao
Brittney Cobbs my friend loves doing hair styling an hair care, and I was too lazy to apply oil....she was pissed😅so I feel like there's some stylist who do get pissed when they're clients don't take care of their hair. So I don't think whatever he's saying is offensive. When someone professional says my hair is dry, and it is I would be like...yeah oops sorry
There was nothing rude he said, but we all have our own opinions (and thin skins I guess). She won't tell them what happened to her hair ("Do they not always lie sometimes" it's true though, you all won't tell what different box dyes you've put in your hair since your last visit), and her hair is dry af (showing that this perm could be used on damaged hair). It only comes off as "rude" because these girls were more shy/less talkative, but they even laughed when he said it because it's true. The model should be seen as a model, not a client btw. They did a great job.
I collect vintage beauty trade magazines. In almost every issue I've seen, going back to the 1920s, there are references to needing to know exactly what treatments have been used on the hair, because the chemical residues on/in the hair strands will affect how well the new chemical treatment (perming or dyeing) will work. Clients are often afraid to say they've been doing their hair at home instead of paying a salon to do it, because they don't want the stylist to think they're cheap, or to tell them they did something wrong. It's up to the stylist to convince the client that they need accurate information to know if they need to do anything special in order to make the perm/dye process work properly, NOT to belittle them.
Well, that's the motto that unwrittenly used in the medical field too. Dont always assume your patient is telling the 100 perc t truth. A patient could come in with stomach pain Doctor: did you take drugs, shove anything in any orifices, or previously had sex and that could be where your rash is coming coming from, why you're vision is blurred, etc.? Patient: No AbSOLuTEly NoT. ....later: it was found that patient did take drugs, did have sex with a person who was carrying an std strain, and he/she DID shove something up where it naturally should not be shoved and that was the cause of their injury. Not them "tripping over a rock" and falling into "poison ivy" and the stick just "magically ended up there". Some medicines can also react with drugs that might've been taken by a patient. If a patient is lying, their lie can be very costly. Sometimes can even cost his/her life.😔 better to be honest and found out for doing something taboo then to risk your life or hair (in this case) to get the best treatment.
You're all missing the point. He was saying they're filling the ends because a LOT of people lie about what's on their hair. He wasn't attacking the model, lol. I'm a stylist, and it is the TRUTH. Flat out lies, or maybe people have done SO MUCH to their hair they forget the mile-long list of other chemical treatments they've had done. Performing a perm over other chemical treatments can be absolutely catastrophic to hair. Additionally, if you haven't noticed, Guy's channel is about education. This video is 100% about the digital perm technique. If any of you are stylists, you don't need Guy to give you a step by step instruction on how to be kind to your client- he's giving a demo on a piece of equipment. Lighten up and try being grateful for Guy bringing this cool piece of innovation to your attention. Thanks, Guy Tang, for all you do for our industry, and for being unapologetically you.
the girls doing her hair didnt want to be there either... guy was being so obnoxious and repeated himself like 100 times. i think they were all just doing their best to pretend he wasnt there lol...
I'm a cosmetology student and although I haven't learned perms yet I definitely want to practice and become good at using perms to create modern looks.
Just letting people know that Diffuser is not the only way to dry it Twisting in big sections while drying and brush it down with finger giver more like a curling iron effect and people who have natural curls that they don't want Can do the straightening on the parts they want and make waves on the place they want There's so much ,various shapes korea is creating!! &Love u guy tang💕💕

Happy to see how very diferent way to do hair is done around the world. Cause here in my little island it would be so strange to see something like a digital perm. So so very cool video Guy. Love to see more of this type of videos if you get the chance to make them. Much love
Totally agree. Am guessing people are just scared at first or they think its old school BUT it's advance to a point that we have tools as hairstyle as doing such big chemical process and the hair comes out more healthy.
For everyone ragging on the people in the salon in the comments- Its incredibly rude. He was a guest in another salon with a model who didn't know him.
Cortney Coleman for hair my length (bottom of my shoulder blades) it starts around $200. That may not be a lot for some people, but it unfortunately is for me.
Guy Tang that was very detailed information on how the machine is not outdated and things can be like replica of the past thanks for the information love you
Excellent video! I am so glad that the perming process is finally being evolved to create any type of curl. Also, the hair was healthier than when the technicians started the process which has been impossible in the past. Beautiful job thanks for sharing!! Love you sugar!
Nilsa Melendez Search through Guy's videos - it hasn't been long since he did a beach wave perm. It can be shown to your stylist so they will know how to do it. Good luck!
Nena unfortunately a lot of people with curly hair aren't shown how to properly take care of their hair. My mom was a hairstylist and would practice on me so I grew up with getting perms all the time. Ladies with naturally curly hair always commented on how beautiful the curls looked and that their hair would never look like that. For a bit I would travel and do hair and I had several clients with curly hair and I always ask them to do their hair routine so I can see what they may be doing wrong. 4/5 brush their hair with a bristle brush. No joke. No wonder the hair is frizzy. You want a wide tooth comb and if you're gonna get a brush, I always recommend (for everyone) to get a wide tooth brush. You don't get the static and frizz like you would a bristle brush. Also, every single client would start brushing their hair from the middle of the back of their head. That's a big no no with all hair. You always start from the bottom and slowly start brushing a little higher than the last, this avoids any tangles and the hair is less frizzy.
He is just being honest and explaining why they are giving the treatments they are giving her ...pre treatments take ages and the client can get annoyed if they feel its unnecessary.
Guy Tang is the best! Always showing us what's up and new! And I love that he is a REAL stylist that keeps learning so he can share with us! So generous, amazing, funny, and let's not forget hotttt😍😍😍
yamaksy because sometimes the hairdresser will reject a client if he/ she thing the hair already too often chemically processed, or the time too short from previous chemically treatment.
ika dewi they will also rant and bitch and try not to pay when they lied and their hair looks like hot garbage, or breaks or whatever else happens when the client is a lying little shit that knows exactly nothing about hair.
@@ikadewi6650 if they reject it is for a reason and they cannot fix your hair at the moment. you lying only makes it worse. this is their profession they know what they are doing but only if you are honest with them can they truly fully help you
I got a digital perm in Seoul a couple of years ago and it was the best perm ever!! I didn't have to use a curling iron and just put in curling cream and twist hair with my fingers. Loved it!
In more traditional perms ..you apply a pre treatment and porosity regulator then you blow dry that in ...apply the perming lotion what ever strength to whatever part of the hair is suitable then wrap (without rinsing) then wrap to whatever setting /curling pattern is appropriate. They are just using heated steam rollers. With a blast of cold air. You can just use normal heated steam rollers without the machine and put the dryer on cold. They stopped using the machine because there are smaller more affordable things out there. You have to neutralize both when the rods are in and after they are out even for tight curls. If you want it looser neutralize only after you take the rods out. Also once its out and you are neutralizing you should curl it slightly around your fingers as you go and try and keep the curl. It makes the hair less frizzy and you make sure its neutralized evenly and all of the hair is covered. If you just chuck the neutralizer on like that on loose hair you will get frizz the assistant should have been trying to wrap the curls in her hand as the basin.particularly at the ends ..the perm could have been a lot better. . There is no need for that machine though either. Heated rollers and a dryer will do it.
i don't comment a lot, but i love u Guy!!! Ur awesome! i'm a cosmetology student and i have learned so much from you! keep up the excellent work! love this digital perm. oh, i did a mock perm with flexi-rods like u did!
Miss9830 right, i thought the same thing. i hope she didnt speak english, because he said some pretty rude and hateful things about her...which if she doesnt speak english, that would explain his hate towards her: he knew she wouldnt have jumped out of her chair at him! i would have smacked the silicone out of his cheeks if that were me! and im sure his die hard fans are going to tell me to move on if i dont like it.. no worries! totally unsubscribing after this bs.
I can never understand why someone with beautiful straight hair would want curls haha!! I'm over here with natural curly hair wishing for straight!! Haha the grass is always greener on the other side I guess!
Kayla Blair cause we always want what we don't have. I had board straight hair till I had my kid. Then I had big pretty curls (didn't know what to do with them) then after about 4 years my curls disappeared. lol I miss the curls though! Lol
Kayla Blair I know right! my hair is poker straight naturally, all my life I have wanted curly hair! mine is so straight that if I didn't blow dry it it would look like it had been ironed!
I can't understand you. I love my curls, they're pretty and more versatile, and I can straighten it. With straight hair its pretty bland, and you can never get a real natural curly look
Thank you for uploading this video, ever since I heard about digital perm I wondered what would be the process, what products would be used and how would it turn out like. I like to perm, just as any other technical process, but it makes me sad about the damage a perm can do to hair if it's already sensitized , and to see that there's something out there capable of perming and even make the hair look healthier makes me so happy!
lol I was just about to type almost the exact same thing. I would love to trade hair with someone who has naturally straight hair, because I would pay so much money to not have to constantly straighten it or put tons of product in it lol!
I have natural curl and my curl pattern is almost identical to how her perm turned out! It looks incredibly natural!!! Love it! I'm so happy they are developing things now to keep our hair healthy but allow us to change things up pretty dramatically. You should do a whole series on new hair care technology!!
Hey Guy! I love that you're so passionate and energetic about hair!! The other stylists were boring!! Having a stylist that has a happy disposition about their craft can make or break a clients' experience on the chair. Thanks for being awesome!!!!

He doesn't tip toe around it. Very forward. That's why I love him.
Star Light yes it's good to be forward but not as much as Guy as he said over and over again how dry her hair was which was quite unprofessional
Star Light one no there's nothing wrong with you most people don't like being told their a liar, dry hair he could of been at least a bit nicer instead of offending her every 5 mins
Asia also has a very different upbringing and are not used to this kind of behaviour towards each other
Haha, Guy I think you have too much energy for them.
its like watching the dogs off of the homebound movie, guy being chance lol
Manualideas Fancylooks I'm so sorry that happened to you! How horrible!
that is horrible!!! so sorry that happened!
OH NO! what an unprofessional hair dresser!
He called her awkward, nor did he thank her when thanking the stylists.
Bruh seeing as how she did another vid with him she must have not found it that offensive.
Oh my god, that was so rude to say clients always lie RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR CLIENT. She didn't look amused. So unprofessional.
Her hair was clearly colored in the past though because her ends are brassy. Plus she was a model not a client
Elaine S That lady’s facial expression didn’t change the entire time she sat there 😂
@@IvannaOlivas THANK YOU, i've been waiting to see someone say it.
Well, that's the motto that unwrittenly used in the medical field too. Dont always assume your patient is telling the 100 perc t truth.
A patient could come in with stomach pain
Doctor: did you take drugs, shove anything in any orifices, or previously had sex and that could be where your rash is coming coming from, why you're vision is blurred, etc.?
The woman getting her hair done did NOT want to be there lol... So so awkward to watch...
the girls doing her hair didnt want to be there either... guy was being so obnoxious and repeated himself like 100 times. i think they were all just doing their best to pretend he wasnt there lol...
Luna Soleil Omg I thought it was just me thinking that! Lol! Gurl we been through it together xD
I'm a cosmetology student and although I haven't learned perms yet I definitely want to practice and become good at using perms to create modern looks.
Just wanted you to know that you're awesome!
- Akorm - ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Those girls are crazy pretty! that salon looked really nice too, loved the perm.
The stylist and model clearly wanted nothing to do with him.. if I went there and they were like that I'd leave. So unfriendly and rude.
They are just reserved. It's a Korean hair salon and they probably aren't used to this.
Just letting people know that
Diffuser is not the only way to dry it
Twisting in big sections while drying and brush it down with finger giver more like a curling iron effect
and people who have natural curls that they don't want
Can do the straightening on the parts they want and make waves on the place they want
There's so much ,various shapes korea is creating!!
&Love u guy tang💕💕
I love you ❤️ your honestly my favorite RUclipsr because your videos are interesting and you don't get involved in RUclips drama or use clickbait just to try to get views and I really appreciate that thank you 😊
Rebecca Dolan ❤️❤️😍😍😍😍❤️
More than anything else, this video has made me really appreciate my natural curls.
Wow. It reminds me of the old style perm machines from the 1920's. Everything old is new again.
diff culture ppl. the women are more reserved...they are just not use to being on camera... and Guy is a ball of energy bouncing all around...calm down ppl
Ugh, finally someone that understands!! Everybody is different and people just don't get it.
You can be energetic without being rude and annoying.
Happy to see how very diferent way to do hair is done around the world. Cause here in my little island it would be so strange to see something like a digital perm. So so very cool video Guy. Love to see more of this type of videos if you get the chance to make them. Much love
GretaNightmare13 I am glad you love them as much as I do! It's fun and different but I think we should also utilize this if we can too
Totally agree.
Guy please come to the uk ! I need my hair sorting
Jamtoast yes me too!!
I love digital perms, they're brilliant. I hope to afford one some day.
Bethany Barnes how much is it???? 🤔
Cortney Coleman for hair my length (bottom of my shoulder blades) it starts around $200. That may not be a lot for some people, but it unfortunately is for me.
P.s loved your blueray and vhs analogy, was perfect
Darcy Fischer I know right!!!?
Guy Tang that was very detailed information on how the machine is not outdated and things can be like replica of the past thanks for the information love you
I admit. I was thinking "That's just an old school brought new school." But the analogy helped me understand better!
Excellent video! I am so glad that the perming process is finally being evolved to create any type of curl. Also, the hair was healthier than when the technicians started the process which has been impossible in the past. Beautiful job thanks for sharing!! Love you sugar!
this is Stella she's so pretty this is her assistant isn't she adorable and....this this is Amy. lmfao
Dgg uhh Amy right? 😂
Right lmao like that’s a little mean
Amy is very pretty I think
@@Sarah-kx5bd 1
I am completely in love with Stella's hair color.
I luvvvv you guy tang! Your commentary really helps a lay person understand complex content! You are a natural born teacher!!
That's how I have it naturally and I don't like it on me! Go figure... I would like to have a more beach wave curl on me. is that even possible???!
Nilsa Melendez Search through Guy's videos - it hasn't been long since he did a beach wave perm. It can be shown to your stylist so they will know how to do it. Good luck!
Nilsa Melendez same, didn't even know that.
Those girls are so thorough and hard working. I'd love my hair to be done by them. Amazing.
That technique was done in the twenties when they wanted to do a wave perm or a wave technique for the hair
Ugh all these hate comments... Guy this was awesome, thanks for sharing! ❤❤❤
If you would be the woman that got her hair done, I would yell at you after you tell me 5000x times how dry my hair is.
MrsBl4ckh4v3n maybe you should moisturize your crusty hair becky
He is just being honest and explaining why they are giving the treatments they are giving her ...pre treatments take ages and the client can get annoyed if they feel its unnecessary.
Guy Tang is the best! Always showing us what's up and new! And I love that he is a REAL stylist that keeps learning so he can share with us! So generous, amazing, funny, and let's not forget hotttt😍😍😍
I love it! Stella & Alice you did AWESOME! Amy you look gorgeous! Guy & the crew you did a great job to! Love you!
Love how healthy her hair looks! Just got mine done today!😘 Perms will make a comeback!!
I FLIPPING LOVE YOUR VOICE.....I DON'T KNOW WHY THO XD
I am the voice behind LSP Adventure Time
Guy Tang I had no idea!!!! Omg!!!
Guy Tang OMG REALY!!!!!!
Guy Tang I NEW YOUR VOICE SOUNDER FAMILIAR!!!
No he's not lmao but he does kinda sound like her

all I want for Christmas is for guy to fix my hair...
ikr

That’s the best digital perm I’ve seen on RUclips if I were in LA I would go see them.
OMG the end result looks like my hair naturally! People always want what they don't have I suppose.
Guy is the perfect instructor love how he is very detail u learn alot by learning all the steps i love listening to him he breaks everything down.
Why do clients lie to their hairdressers!? To me this is as dumm as the patients who'd lie to their doctor! I simply can't get it?!
yamaksy because sometimes the hairdresser will reject a client if he/ she thing the hair already too often chemically processed, or the time too short from previous chemically treatment.
ika dewi they will also rant and bitch and try not to pay when they lied and their hair looks like hot garbage, or breaks or whatever else happens when the client is a lying little shit that knows exactly nothing about hair.
@@ikadewi6650 if they reject it is for a reason and they cannot fix your hair at the moment. you lying only makes it worse. this is their profession they know what they are doing but only if you are honest with them can they truly fully help you
The process is a lot but it's well worth it. pretty awesome when science and beauty goes hand in hand 😁
My hair looks naturally like that.
Anouk Your hair truly looks great!
Thanks! :)
Beautiful job. Love seeing the tech aspect♡♡♡
He's so cute and funny! A sense of humor is the biggest turn-on 😍
You inspired my boyfriend to start doing hair :3
I got a digital perm in Seoul a couple of years ago and it was the best perm ever!! I didn't have to use a curling iron and just put in curling cream and twist hair with my fingers. Loved it!
The thumbnail is absolutely Horrifying.
True
Stella is so pretty, her hair is such a Pretty colour
I wish he would work with more black people as well, can we please see you working on 4c Hair??
potato bake
LOL! That'd NEVER happen.
U are so awesome Guy... I have learned so much from all of ur videos. And I love the way u empower others. I love alll of ur videos....!
OMG I'm first! Lol I get so excited when I see a Guy Tang upload. I also enjoy learning about perms.
Yassss
Guy Tang Is there anyway you can do Harley Quinn's hair
Heated rollers and a dryer will do it.
the girls: Yes, yes..... yes..... yes 😂😂😂😂
i don't comment a lot, but i love u Guy!!! Ur awesome! i'm a cosmetology student and i have learned so much from you! keep up the excellent work! love this digital perm. oh, i did a mock perm with flexi-rods like u did!
i want stella's hair
If I ever get my hair permed again, it'll *have* to be at a Korean salon! So much kinder to hair than a "traditional" chem-perm.
damn stella is so pretty
Love seeing perm updated
he didn't say thank u to the model at the end😡
He was really rude towards her during the whole thing.
what when
Miss9830 right, i thought the same thing. i hope she didnt speak english, because he said some pretty rude and hateful things about her...which if she doesnt speak english, that would explain his hate towards her: he knew she wouldnt have jumped out of her chair at him!
i would have smacked the silicone out of his cheeks if that were me!
and im sure his die hard fans are going to tell me to move on if i dont like it.. no worries! totally unsubscribing after this bs.
Ashley A
Amen sister. Someone needs to smack that silicone out either way...and shave that nasty facial hair off.
Ashley A don't unsubscribe! we have all done mean things without noticing, that doesn't mean he is a bad person
Very kool!!! So much better then the 90's prem...
The client isn't miserable guys, English isn't her first language so she probably only understands part of what he's saying
Those curls gave me life.😍😍😍
I'm laughing so hard because I was anticipating the ending so much then I just saw my natural hair texture
This is so exciting to see new technology to get a better result.. love it .. great results girls and Guy ..
he said the same thing like 100 times lol he was obsessed AF lmao
I love her hair! I want a perm now
I can never understand why someone with beautiful straight hair would want curls haha!!
Kayla Blair you will understand when you already have straight hair. You will miss the curly hair tbh.
Thank you for uploading this video, ever since I heard about digital perm I wondered what would be the process, what products would be used and how would it turn out like.
I like to perm, just as any other technical process, but it makes me sad about the damage a perm can do to hair if it's already sensitized , and to see that there's something out there capable of perming and even make the hair look healthier makes me so happy!
can you just use olaplex for a hair treatment? Like for damage?
Yes you can as a stand alone treatment but you also need amino acids/protein
+Guy Tang thank u
+Cheza Belle awesome, I'll have to check it out
Aww Guy, you honestly make my heart flutter ❤️ Never change!
Wow. People with straight hair want curly hair and people with curly hair would do anything for straight hair. Humanity is interesting tbh
I like her sectioning for the perm. My school makes us do 9 sections and it takes forever! She finished so quickly
BeautyByAnnabelle so does mine!
Screaming because I have this hair naturally. Even curliest than that actually. It's so hard to take care of and it's so dry naturally. I'm triggered.
Buuut... Curls hide damage so that's good.
lol I was just about to type almost the exact same thing. I would love to trade hair with someone who has naturally straight hair, because I would pay so much money to not have to constantly straighten it or put tons of product in it lol!
Liberty Mothershead Man you guys saying i want naturally straight offends me....😑😔
Perfect video! Loved the end result. Her hair looks great 😍 and so healthy😭
Wow. Little did he know about the mask about 4 years later....
Perms never left. People still want them. :-) This was interesting and it was nice to see teamwork in the process!
I am a new hair bestie
I have natural curl and my curl pattern is almost identical to how her perm turned out! It looks incredibly natural!!! Love it! I'm so happy they are developing things now to keep our hair healthy but allow us to change things up pretty dramatically. You should do a whole series on new hair care technology!!
16:09 my hair after a shower

Pretty dope. I think it’s crazy that perms date back to 1905 and we still perform this service 😂😂😂 pretty cool technique
Your bicep is the size of my face 😱

Loved the last clip. Gorgeous hair, gorgeous people😍👏👍
2 likes and Guy gets orange dye and super perm/curl
Huehue I dare you
Hey Guy! I love that you're so passionate and energetic about hair!! The other stylists were boring!! Having a stylist that has a happy disposition about their craft can make or break a clients' experience on the chair. Thanks for being awesome!!!!
the client had like. 0 personality
I noticed that lol
Kati Nicole lmao she just wanted to get her hair done 😂
Yeah she seemed bothered! Lol
Kati Nicole I would act the same way because I'm shy af and I would feel uncomfortable around all these people and also being filmed 😭
Sally M. she didn't even look at the camera! lol I bet she's fine irl
This was stunning ❤ I wish I could afford to get my hair done by you, Guy. I love how passionate you are. ❤
