    So I have heard mixed reviews on it from some people saying it gets clogged easily because it does not have hollow tines like a machine does. Did you experience this? I have used a manual aerator from home depot before that did not have hollow tines and it got clogged instantly on my grass and I returned it. Because of the mixed reviews, I went with the hollow tine aerating mower wheel made by Green Scott, a super heavy duty wheel that you replace one of your mower wheels with and then drive your mower around and it shoots cores, its really cool and only $80. I also got the premium Landzie Hollow Tine manual aerator on Amazon and it works great.

    For people with bigger yards do not get this.. 😂 I was freaking tired after doing my front and back yard. Trying to get some good coverage was insane! Nice lawn bro!

    Your lawn looks great, I'm afraid this aerator would just bounce on top of my lawn never piercing the soil

    I’ve seen another review for the clay soil where the dirt clogs up in the tines.

    It's a neat idea but being a mechanic I can build this myself. It looks like they use old truck brake rotors and electrical conduit, stainless steel pipe and some elbow grease should get you one much cheaper than $400! Great video by the way! I see you love what you are doing and that is great. You have a knack for green grass! I wish you were my neighbor but it looks like you have an HOA infestation! LOL

  • @vegasfordguy
    @vegasfordguy 8 месяцев назад +26

    That's just two automotive brake rotors with some pipes attached to it. You could pick up two used brake rotors at the pick a part for a few bucks and build your own very cheap.

    The cores look like 1/2 an inch to and 1 inch. Typically see 2 to 3 inches in other manual aerators or gas powered.

    Dont the cores get clogged up, in that hollow tube. But certainly looks good. Thank you.

    • @YardBrah
      @YardBrah  11 месяцев назад +3

      The thicker tines helped with less clogging. The previous model had an almost tapered tine which clogged like crazy but this one isn't bad 🤙🏾

      I have clay soil and Bermuda. Any thoughts. I’ve used a stepping core aerator and had zero luck. The cores would get stuck

  • @TruckerJoe

    What type of soil do you have? My Texas Clay might not work with that. Clogged

  • @Betruetoyou4444

    My yard is very compacted and hard like clay. I don’t know if that thing would work in my yard in TN. It’s very hard to dig into the yard unless we just had rain. I have to hire someone to aerate 3.35 acres. It’s a lot of money. I want to do it myself honestly.

    • @YardBrah
      @YardBrah  11 месяцев назад +5

      I mean I don't have any experience with clay soil... this one is heavy but damn 3.35 acres would be a workout and a half 😂😅🤙🏾

    • @netstar5950
      @netstar5950 8 месяцев назад +2

      I agree with you on comments about the hard clay. I live in the Atlanta, GA. suburbs and the clay soil is like concrete. This aerator would dance on top of the soil as if it was on a concrete driveway or sidewalk. I tried using a gas powered tiller to dig up dirt in my garden and the machine danced all over the ground but would not break up the clay. I doubt this product would work in hard clay soil.

    hello a guy on youtube did a review on this he was not happy the tines did not discharge the plugs so he bought tines to replace the ones that came with it. your thoughts?

    • @YardBrah
      @YardBrah  11 месяцев назад +3

      Yeah his review was super negative like he was mad out the gate 😂 if I remember correctly his lawn conditions were not the greatest , then then he added the linger tines that could eject his tines were too long and not placed right 😂
      I have had no problems with this new one ejecting cores I love it and it's definitely an upgrade from the previous model... but if I just added the wider tines the new one comes with to the old one it's the same thing... works for me ☺️🤙🏾

    Rye grass doesn't multiply underground by rhizomes (KBG for an example) but does it still multiply somehow? What are tillers?

    • @YardBrah
      @YardBrah  11 месяцев назад +3

      Kentucky blue Rhizomes, bent grass stolons, rye grass tillers which grows in clumps and produces more blades from the stock. Rye grass is pretty much a small bush 😂🤙🏾
