    Dude do you realize that that thing is just 2 used brake rotors and pipe for the tines. This is sold for $400 for something that cost $50. That's a rip off.

    • @atg4469

      Oh I am totally aware. I think to be fair it probably costs somewhere near 70-100 for material and maybe another 100 for labor. Some material like drill bits, electricity to power the bits etc. All that overhead gets rolled into the price. For a larger corporation or a shop in china its nothing, for a guy in his garage its likely more. I think him charging about 200 for a device like this again in its proprietary stage would be fair, 400 is totally a rip off. I totally agree with you though that considering its construction, it is hard to justify a price greater than 100 dollars no matter how much labor and overhead we try to be fair about. There is 100% room for improvement here.

      @@diytwoincollege7079 thats right, price went up to $500, unreal. I have to brake rotors in my garage right now I'm going to turn into this, havent figured out how to do the handle bars and tines though. soil conditions do affect how it rolls, you want to water thoroughly if its really dry out the day before.

    Curious to see the rollaerator with the newer tines that the Ryann aerators use. Can’t wait for the update video. I also wonder if it’s more efficient if you used the rollaertor as a single row tines (with the new tones) where you have the tines between the two disk? Just a thought maybe.

      Great updates with the double row action! Thanks for following up with the single row, will watch it soon as you release the video. There’s a couple videos out there on how to make one yourself, wondering how you would create yours for efficiency pulling out cores and ease of use.

    Good review, I've been tossing around the idea of either purchasing this, or fabricating my own.
    I had noticed the tines and was curious as too what type of steel they used. One concept I didnt even think about was the tines having the cut outs.
    Thank you for posting, i am curious how the new tines functioned for you?

    • @atg4469
      @atg4469  7 месяцев назад +2

      The newer tines do work. In fact because they are curved it's significantly easier to push. But the overall design of the handle is still an issue. It's not stiff enough it needs reinforcement. Air filled tires and a mechanism for lifting and lowering the tines would be another thing that would be perfect. I regard to the tines they need to be lubricated with something, I just purchased some fluid film and will upload the final video to give an accurate assessment

    i have the same unit and yes indeed the tines are total b.s. (a piece of cut conduit) the pics of the original unit had machined tines so this was a rip... the concept of this is great however u just need a real tine that is mounted to the inside of the rotors, but that is not possible to fit it as such. i also had to use them just on one side so the weight of the unit would work in my favor. also after using it only 3 times, the accel is hollowing out the handle bar frame where it attatches so before long, it will totaly need to be redone. please someone use the same concept and make a better one and pass on this one.

    What a rip. You have an electrical conduit for a handle and tines .Cost less than 20 bucks. Two automobile rotors, probably China made. Les than 75 bucks. Misc hardware. Les than 20 bucks. About a hour labor bending conduit drilling holes and cutting tines.should be marketed for less than 250 ,275 max
