That is the best looking saw mill i have ever seen.
Gotta love that Alabama Weather! Hope ya'll got through the tornados completely unscathed.
Congratulations on the saw mill Dylan & Molly :) Have a wonderful weekend! and Thank you for sharing the video with us!💖👍😎JP
So exciting! Super happy for y'all, can't wait to see what you get up to with it!
I am so happy for you both. Enjoy.x
Love it! I don't need a saw mill, but now I want one. hahaha.
LOL Same🤣
Omg !!! Congratulations!!!!
I’m so happy for you guys! I really understand the excitement about putting it together.
Me and my father ordered a Logosol B1001 back in march 2022 and we were supposed to receive it in the beggining of June but it was delayed to September… But boy was it fun when it all came togheter and we could saw our first log!
OH NICE! How has it been owning a mill? We are so excited at all the potential prospects of having one.
G'day kids. You didn't mention a water coolant for the blade or did I miss that?
Setup is key. I agree with taking your time with this one. Congrats on getting it together.
Thanks Michael!
I see getting a concrete pad for that baby in your future to make sure it stays level and doesn't vibrate itself down into the ground.
Probably a good idea😁
,a cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you……
It`s a nice mill. I sold my first mill exactly after one year and bought a Woodmizer LT 40 Super hydraulic....i am looking forward to ur way u gona take. I wish u a loit of fun. Greetings Wolfgang
This is so, so awesome. I'd like to know how you intend to integrate it into your overall business plan. Are you going to cut, dry, and use the lumber? Or maybe tow it to different sites and mill wood for others?
If you are going to mill your lumber, I'd like to see how you plan your layout from log storage to kiln and final lumber storage. What an amazing opportunity for us to see a new business (or new business addition) get up and running.
This is definitely a fluid decision at the moment and primarily will be decided as we use the mill, but we do have an idea of how we’d like to incorporate this into our business model. It’s a pretty big discussion for a comment, so I will make it a point to talk about this in future video👍🏻
So many great possibilities with this! Not just saving money from buying from a limber yard but getting those custom pieces will come in super clutch!
Gosh and we CANT WAIT for those custom pieces!
Check out the solar kiln plans from VA Tech for drying the stuff you mill! Congrats on the mill!
You guys are doing a great job posting regularly. Way to go. It really seems like y'all are living the dream. I hope you are
Living the absolute best dream!! Thanks for watching😊🤗
American Fan Club🏈🇺🇸
It was -50 here in Indiana with blizzard conditions and then 65 several days ago. Congrats! Excited to see future videos.
Oooof. No thanks.
Dear friends, fight.💪💪
That's awesome guys! Let me know when you're ready. I've got 2 or 3 good sized cedar logs that I set aside after hurricane Sally. :)
Wonderful!
Molly sure is pulling her weight around that place - all 1-1/2lbs of it! 😉 You providing ballast for the saw-head tipping exercise made me think of that. 😉 Hey, check out #1806StoneHouse video on his sawmill and what to watch out for on that type of mill, not that exact one, but one with that adjustment arm in front of the operator's face IF they're leaning into the mill. It's titled: So, This Happened | The TRUTH. Pretty happy for you both for adventuring new paths! All the very best with all you do! *May the best of last year be the worst of this new year for you both, your families, your friends and loved ones!* *Happy New Year!* 🎉🎊🎆
Very cool camera shot at 4:48! DD

13:05 - That is absolutely hilarious!! Look at Dylan's face! 😂😂
Lol
I wish I had enough trees to justify buying a sawmill. Looks like it will be a lot of fun.
We have a sawmill, and I barely use it due to lack of trees. Too many people sell their yard trees for what their worth in lumber. And too many people are dumb enough to pay for them.
Thanks for the video! Curious what camera do you guys use?
It’s the LUMIX S5☺️
How freaking exciting is it that you got one. Did you guys do some checking on the different brands before getting this one, which looks like a beast, by the way. I'm sure you will slab out some of the trees you remove from your property, but wondering if you thought about getting with some tree contractors as they could be a great source for lods
Thanks! Yea we did a ton of research on all the options. We also bought our stump grinder from Woodland Mills prior to this purchase and were very happy with it and the service, so that made the decision easier.
Definitely going to ask around for contacts for logs. I would love to find a contact for a small logging operation that I could buy an entire truck load of logs from. I think that would be the most efficient use of funds and time if we are able to find someone willing to do that. We have a ton of big projects in mind that if we want to do will require a lot of logs.
@@Woodbrew That's great. You might look into the tree contractor services as they will cut down a variety of species throughout the year. Just a thought
Concrete pad and a overhead cover to keep saw mill from the elements
Plan in the works for this!
Thats going to lead to a lot more needs lol. Im making more videos of my woodland sawmill setup on my channel too if your interested!
Bigger tractor, Bigger Truck, Bigger Trailer....... 🤣🤣🤣
@@Woodbrew kiln, mill shed, lumber and live edge storage, etc etc lol. Have fun, looks like you have a great start!
14:58 Anyone else feel called out? haha I'm sooo guilty of that, and I say EVERY TIME, 'I'm going to take my time with this one.'..... but I don't. This will serve as a reminder :D
I have seen quite a few channels with the Wood Mizer saw mills. Is there a reason why you chose the brand that you did over the Wood Mizer brand? Just wondering for personal research. Thanks.
There a many reasons that I think can only be done justice in a video talking about this topic. The brief version is affordability and value. Sawmills are like many things in this world, there are diminishing returns once you get to a certain level. For instance, a sawmill less than 10k is likely entirely manual, but the distance from manual to entirely automated is big chunk of money. We optimized our budget/choice to most capacity and best value and not speed or efficiency.
Nice mill, looks like tons of fun ahead.
I will say, don't recommend using ratchet straps with the ratchets to lift. You can use just the strap, but I've had even the big 3333 lb ones slip on me before, and you don't want that nice investment damaged. You shouldn't have to lift it again though*knocks on wood repeatedly*
Yea it was a calculated risk. I kept it very low to ground for awhile to make sure there wasn’t an issue. Definitely not ideal, but it allowed us to get the load as close to the pin as possible because it was a lot of weight to lift that high and far out.
Dylan needs to go to the barber shop!😁
You’re not wrong
Do yall have two tractors? I saw another one in the background...
Lol I wish! That’s the neighbors. I’m pretty sure all of our neighbors have tractors and many of them are pretty much identical.
is it backwards? Not that it matters I suppose, but mine said to cut toward the tongue.
It’ll cut towards the tongue😊
I guess I’m just really naive but, where do such young folks get all this money?
We are young, but we started this business 7 years ago so we’ve been at it for awhile. It took a long time before we had any money. We still don’t have much money, we just invest everything the business makes back into the business and take the bare minimum out personally. We are very frugal in our personal lives. We’ve always lived by this rule that we only buy things that can make us money or provide us with life experiences at a fraction of the cost. Our frivolous spending is extremely limited. This question comes up a lot and it’s complicated to answer in a single comment, but this is the basis for how we have what we have.
Wtf why did I see a dodge truck in the video. Where is the old classic square body Ford
We got the opportunity to sell the Ford, so we did😊
@@Woodbrew wish I would have known I would have taken it off your hands.
Are you going to make this into a business? Or is it just to mill your own lumber?
Sawing lumber as a business isn’t our approach, at least for now, but it will provide lumber for our projects that are for business so yes it will be used for our business, but not as it’s own business. The goal is to build things for local clients using local lumber.
@@Woodbrew sounds great. I like John Malecki’s saw mill videos so look forward to watching yours.
Ps. I’m watching from in the UK and love the videos. Going to build a new bbq station next year to replace the one I built a few years back and going to base it on the first one you built!
