I'd love for there to one day be 3-4 ascendancies based around each different archetype, such as totems, shapeshifting, shield users, bow users, melee, elemental attackers, bleeding/poison/ignite & ailment proliferation, chaos damage, elemental damage, etc. Imo, there'll be nothing better than having a handful of viable ascendancies for most-if-not-all builds. It's quite ingenius to place multiple thematic archetypes into each Ascendancy. But even so, a shapeshifting ascendancy can essentially build any melee skill, so the potential versatility that can come from this is off the chainhook, especially for those like me who like to roll 100% off-meta builds.
It is so much fun to watch these guys talk about their game and team, love them!
I'm still up for playing next league and 3.9.0, but god damn, this is the real action here and I can't wait.
HE'S THE REAL IZARO, THAT VOICE MAN LUL
The jojo marauder hasn't got weapons. Can't wait to ORA some monsters with my stand!
Actually, an ancestral stand skill is a great idea. Sort of an ancestral warchief, but locked on you, and you have control over it.
Face breaker build
@@michawrona593 I imagine something more like mirage archer but for melee skill ^^
@@stormwindsakuro8678 that will probably happen too, since they want to build an entire ancestral ascendancy\archetype. The gameplay theyve shown showcased other unarmed skills such as some transformations, so Im pretty hopeful there is going to be some actively controlled ancestral attack skill. Anyway, that marauder will probably be the first char i make.
Balista builds wont be just a meme anymore
Back then at D3: i saw a build with balistas, it looked fun, i started one. As a casual it took me quite a while until i had all the necessary items to make this build viable and fun. I played it for about a week and then Blizzard killed it with some changes because it was "too passive to play" or something. I was so damn frustrated...😒

The Duelist or Maurader would be good for that one.
That's a bladed war staff. Pretty close, but not the same thing.

19 new classes on top of the existing ones. You could say they DOUBLED it. *wink wink*
holy shit i didnt realize that was Mark until he spoke, he lost so much weight, thats awesome
After seeing the d4 trailer and gameplay videos i was more skeptical and general feeling of meh more than anything, but after seeing these deep dive videos and gameplay videos from poe 2 i've had nothing but more and more growing excitement and hype. Just shows when people are passionate and just aren't out to make as much money as possible it shows in the work
How do you even go about animating melee abilities woth a bow? And what melee abilities? Seems weird to see a bow character use something like earthshatter, flicker strike or even double strike.
I need to be alive at least 100 years, to see hom mindblowing will be PoE 3.
Becouse now i see something AMAZING!!
And i need a new PC, i think.
right? i'm already saving for my next GPU... My beloved 980 won't do it too much longer i think.
I hope there will be an ascendancy that lets you wield a 2h weapon as 1h :D
so you can either dual wield two 2h weapons or use the 2h with a shield in the other hand.

Its the same game, ln the same client, you just will have another campaign to chose
@@monnd With completely new character models, rigs and animations coming in PoE2, the existing mtxs definitely won't be transferred, I tell you. Nobody going to recreate and adapt current cosmetics to the new models and new enhanced graphics level.

Years ago I've proposed the "Idiot Savant" node for a zerk that turned into CCS for this Tactician, but it was kind of other way around - i wanted it to make it so you can use both melees for ranged attacks and ranged weapons for melee attacks.
Well that node is a weird name in the first place how about, Throwing force? Or boulder projectiles.
@@deathstar6998 The theme was that having no grasp in handling the advanced weaponry gives the zerk new perspectives - the stick is a stick after all. He's strong enough to throw an axe at the speed of an arrow and agile enough to sweep things in melee with a bow.
with this many how do you make all unique and balance them?
looks like the new classes will be way more fun too.... 2x additional 7-link vs. for example an old "+1 golem"..... xd
i hope i have better internet to play that new stuff then ... so much love for that new ways of playing & skilling with it ... :)
So we are getting spears and crossbows now. Awesome!! Crazy that this game is f2p. (Stash tabs is a must have tho :D but hey its just a couple of bucks
Wait, crossbows too? :)
I can't fine the crossbow sauce
As a blizzard fan this makes me excited to keep playing POE but also sad for blizzard, early blizzcons used to be like this, communicative, humble and down to earth. Now it's a bunch of developers at blizzard who thinks players are just silly opinionated sheeps that they need to herd. Happy to have moved from d3 to support this great game
19 ascendancies implies there's either an imbalance (probably not) or a new ascendancy for scion aswell.
There's obviously going to be a new Scion Ascendancy. It's going to be pretty much the same thing current SCion is, just for PoE2 Ascendancies.
@@Zaronion nothing is sure about sion, i think it would be a shame to seperate poe 1 and poe 2 sion, it might rather be a spell casting or a attack based sion or melee/ ranged sion instead.
@@Zaronion 19 new ascendancy means 1 new for scion and 3 new for every other chars, so yes there will be a scion ascendancy
@@lucasbortoluzzi9369 As it is confirmed that one set of Ascendancies will be in the PoE1 campaign, and the other in the PoE2 campaign, and they share an endgame, I see no reason why Scion would be different if they wanted to keep their "Jack of all Trades character", which would make PoE1 Scion an amalgamation of PoE1 Ascendancies, and PoE2 Scion an amalgamation of PoE2 Ascendancies.
@@Zaronion Wait, is it confirmed, though? I know you can use new skills in both campaigns. So I would be use shapeshifting, but not the shapeshifting Ascendancy? That also kinda separates people, who wanna play with friends. Don't think the campaign choice being forced for you if you wanna play a certain build is a good thing.
I really hope the shadow gets a death knight ascendancy. I don't even know what it would do. Just sounds cool
Fuuuuck. I just want this now. Thankfully NZ seem to have gone back to normal now, right? And I’m pretty sure whoever they outsource to in China/Taiwan also aren’t having any work restrictions .

If you watch the end of the keynote they explain a card game they only play at exilecon. The staff being the monsters.
i hope to have 2 Ascendancy like grim dawn that will be cool and definitely they need to rework the lab

These node placements look weird man, probably because I'm too used to using the ones we have atm. I hope they curve some of them into 90 percent degrees (like raider ascendancy nodes)
Interesting, pikes coming?
5:20 Javelins and Spears? Cool
Omg is the Marauder the new uncontrolled Naruto beast mode ?
Do I need to buy PoE to play PoE 2 or can I just jump into the second one when it drops?
Poe is free to play.
PoE is completely free. The only thing you'd potentially have to buy is stash tabs, if you don't want to switch accounts too often.
@@Warwipf Well Jesus it just keeps getting better and better dosen't it?
@@kevinnoneya9095 if you play poe 100%, if you know what im trying to say, you will need to buy stash tabs. Is "free"
@@Jefecino Even if you REALLY think you need premium tabs to play PoE then you are looking at maybe 20$ maximum. Sure you can buy stash tabs for hundreds of dollars but a basic set of tabs for about 20$ should give you everything you need to stash and sell items. If you need more you are probably a hoarder and need to let go of items you don't need in the first place.
And in fact you don't need the tabs to play the game to the very end game or even do the challenges. So you can play the game 100% free. no one preassures you into buying. And if you like the game and want to take it to the next level, just buy some tabs an support a great dev team. For 20$ if stash tabs you get a game that is better and gives you more content every 3 months than any other AAA game i know out there. buying MTX is completly optional and yes the price tags are high for the MTX. but i for my part only bought MTX caus i wanted to support the game. not because i had the feeling i need to. so for me PoE is the best free to play model out there.
where is the amazing skill tree of poe 1? I think you commit an error changing it
It'll still be there? Have you never played PoE? Ascendancy classes are completely independant from the main passive tree?
Title felt kinda misleading. Would've gone more with something like 'Exilecon! Path of Exile developers explain new Ranger Ascendancies'
damn. the beast ascendancy looks so fucking fun.
I hope they nerf the damage to more realistic numbers.
The scaling of millions and millions of damage is pretty stupid tbh.
I'm happy to see this game evolvig into something awesome. This is literally the best arpg in existence
It's not as bad as Diablo with its 32132948345 dps flashing in the screen
There’s no damage numbers when playing so who cares.besides, that would make progression feel very unimpactful when leveling
Are these new ascendancies for 3.9?
4.0, which will be end of 2020 or early 2021 by the looks of it. They plan to do 3.10 and 3.11, maybe even 3.12 leagues before 4.0 releases because it's still a long ways off.
So the main question : will we finally get an ascendancy that allow you to equip 2 2-handed weapons? I mean c'mon, they already revealed that we'll be able to use sword/axe skills with a freaking bow.
maruader would enjoy this
This would be really cool, i always liked my Fury Warrior in WoW because of that :D
I hope not, dual wielding is exactly what it should be. Dual wielding 2-h weapons is just some dumb shit WoW brought in which literally just ended up as normal dual wielding again because single minded fury doesnt even exist anymore. Just now you have bigger weapons, it's literal Pepeg.
GGG be like “I heard ya like skill trees”
his Tshirt is a lead that a card game is coming?
Not necessarily. If you attended ExileCon, you were given some cards and you used these to 'fight' the GGG members that had shirts like that. I didn't attend so I don't know what the end goal was, but it looked interesting and I'm hoping people toss their cards up on ebay so I can get some :-)
there WAS a card game, exclusively for ExileCon.

Most path of exile players started out as diablo fans. I think path of exile fans really want diablo to succed, but at the same time we are kinda losing hope for the game, while path of exile just keeps getting better. I think the disapointment in blizzard is justified, and i defently get why people are worried about diablo 4, because i am aswell. Allso worth noting that it is far from the same blizzard we knew years ago. Someday, someone else might be in lead of GGG aswell. But for now, GGG does have my love and respect.

@@Jc-go3mz Go check poe ninja and see the ascendancy distribution right now lol.
It's ridiculous.
Ventus S if you ignore ascendant and guardian because herald stacking build is just too good to pass up, everything else makes complete sense and is pretty balanced.
