I haven't caught your individual episode reviews, but your review of the first season is pretty spot on. It was a great shame that Susan's character was watered down from the original premise... and very understandable why Carole was the first to leave, given that context. I didn't see AUC until 1992's VHS release, which was after already seeing The Daleks a year or two earlier. Having already seen that the Doctor was happy to leave Barbara behind on Skaro, I guess it wasn't too shocking to see him pick up that rock... though it really was quite strange having grown up watching Docs 3, 4 and 5 (though not in that order). I wish we had all of the episodes to watch from early Doctor Who, as I really struggle to sit through the recons / audios. I'm sure Marco Polo would be absolutely epic, because I know I loved the novelisation. One has to hold out hope of more episodes being recovered... but for now it's not terribly likely... :(
