@@revivedfears And? Doesn't mean you can't feel sympathy for them since everyone get's stressed. By that logic nobody is allowed to feel bad about anything as someone is dying of starvation in Africa.
They don't do that every day. They hang around, waiting for trey and matt to come up with something, and then they finally do something. But probably it is a lot of looking at the walls, do minor stuff until they really have something going.
This makes me wish we got a little mini featurette similar to this for every other season or so. Their creative process is super interesting, but just seeing them brainstorming and laughing with each other is weirdly wholesome. I mean, I can't say I've ever smiled like this at a group of writers talking about the gastrointestinal functions of a human centipede before.
Love the section where Matt talks about his role on the show at around 12 minute mark. In a business full of egos, its refreshing to hear that kind of honesty and emotional self understanding.
Yeah there’s no egos there. Matt doesn’t feel jealous that Trey is the more lead creative person, and Trey doesn’t feel arrogant that he has those creative skills. They just get to work and honestly seem to truly appreciate each other’s friendship and partnership. That’s pretty cool to see.
I think about this doc quite literally all the time - weirdly enough, it also reminds me of my mom. She always maintained that she “hated” South Park (even though she laughed at every single episode and even took me to see the movie in theaters lol), but when I made her watch this with me when it originally aired, she was genuinely surprised at just how much work goes into the show. She was like “wow, okay, I actually really respect that…those guys are a lot more intelligent than I realized.” I’ll never forget how proud and vindicated I felt in that moment haha.
Big respect for the fact that they manage to get these episodes done with little just a few hours til they air - the whole team works HARD during the season.
lmao i remember watching this pre-art school thinking "wow, what a dream it would be to work on this show. I'd gladly go through all that just to work on it". 6+ years into working in the anim industry now and there is no amount of money you could pay me to work under these conditions hahhahaha. I feel for everyone involved
These guys must be compensated very well for their long hours, but I don't see how anyone could do this for years. No wonder Trey Parker has had like two divorces
@@rossgudwer3538 because its not difficult - its tedious but not difficult, and if you love creating this is a perfect job. because you don't have to wait months or years for the pay off. you see it that week, and the response. VERY GRATIFYING.
Just goes to show you how funny and quick Matt and Trey are…you have such a great improv actor and comedic writer like Bill Hader and he can barely keep up from just laughing.
@10:20 Anne's reaction being their litmus test is phenomenal. You can tell all she's thinking about is that phone conversation she'll be having. Anne's the unsung hero and she gets her moment to shine with this documentary. Anne, WE SALUTE YOU 🙏
What I love most about this documentary is that, despite the long long hours and not knowing when you'd be able to go home, everyone is LAUGHING SO HARD. It makes you remember that work can be tough, but if you're legitimately enjoying the process and having a good time, it makes that effort so much more worth it. Its probably why people decide to work at a place like South Park Studios tbh.
I've seen very few episodes of South Park. Once they started talking about the iTunes terms of agreement, my attention on this doc shot way up because I loved the Human CentiPad episode so much
The respect for this work but at the same time you can see it was how they did this that made it amazing. Today’s stuff with all the extra production time kinda sucks compared to this era
Imagine working this hard this quickly on a show made in 6 days, only for fat and lazy critics to shit all over it. Not saying south park gets bad reviews, but all shows have their critics. Must be pretty hard to take sometimes.
Southpark Magic : Make Fun of Reality. thats it. It authentic Comedy that makes sense. Also pretty funny thath Women truly never understand fun even women working with the southpark boys :D. 10:45
Thanks for uploading the whole thing just as i was looking for it

10:22 Anne being professional explaining the human centipede to someone is the funniest thing
Trey: "Just whisper into my asshole"
Everybody: *pissing themselves laughing*
Anne: *Anne.exe is not responding*
She's a damn champion and arguably the most important part of south park at the time
"Happy Easter to you too" kills me
Watching the South Park team sleeping in the office & waking up at 04:30am makes you re-think how tired you actually are.
They have an awesome creative job that millions would kill for. They aren't toiling down them mines mate 😂
Dude! Fucking good point!

My jaw dropped when I heard that……
But I also laughed too. XD

when Trey says “its a night of magic” at 25:51 he starts going a little cross-eyes. what a badass for not wearing sunglasses
They probably flipped a coin since it would be more sus if they both wore them 😂
That episode they are talking about is one of my favorite South Park episodes
I remember getting that itunes notification while watching that episode 😂
"HUMANCENTiPAD" from Season 15 episode 1! 😁
I really do think it’s the funniest episode, probably from the extra pressure of the documentary crew there.
It's so good.
📞 10:40 “…maybe we see them being sewn together. Yes, Happy Easter to you too” 💀💀💀

10:12 Trey saying “just whisper in my asshole” got me 😂
thank you for uploading the whole thing in high quality
You're welcome!
i appreciate all the over the counter medication provided at the “Welcome Back” sign
Would give anything to see the thinking behind the meghan and harry episode
“Thanks, Happy Easter to you too” 🤣
To think, that lady stopped South Park from being a Disney show
Hearing That The South Park Crew Have To Complete An Episode In A Spend Of ONE Week Is Just INSANE!!!!

As an animator, this was a nightmare. Still nice to see what goes on to making this show.
Crack Baby Basketball is an all tume classic and they came up with hit during morning coffee
BILL HADER ❤ I Did not realize he was a co-writer.
He is AMAZING even as a serious actor in "Barry"
17:00 😂
34:07 That guy likes mcdonalds nuggets with sweet and sour sauce? That's like, the best.
My nephew likes that too!
I love that Vernon Chatman is in the SP talent pool. His creations, like Wonder Showzen and Xavier: Renegade Angel are nothing short of hilarious.
34:55 Charlie from It‘s always Sunny lol
I always thought that when I watched this documentary too
Lol
You're not funny
I'm fairly certain that hearing Bill Haders laugh can cure cancer!😂😂😂
We had this saved on our DVR for years when it came out lol
I love all these people.. deep down in my heart.
Whatching this for the 30th time🤣it never gets old
@25:49 Matt made the right choice here. Sunglasses. Trey is absolutely geeking tf out!! 😂😂
treys a genius
I was looking for this. Thanks
No problem!
I was fidgeting Star Wars legos while watching this
The way she walks back looking down @1:14 will never not be hysterical.
You just gotta respect the discipline and hard work they put into their show
i remember watching this on tv like wow
Jimmy Fallon sounds like Trey Parker doing a Jimmy Fallon impression.
that's the joke lol
Now we know why everything is going wrong in American society today: everyone just wants the South Park writers’ job to be easier.
forever the best south park documentary ever
This was so interesting to watch
Bill hader seems like he’s just there lol
He basically was. He’s said before that he was basically there to be a fly on the wall and learn how to write shows.
@@denimchicken104 he's lucky he even got to be there tbh
I wonder how many classic episodes Trey is initially unhappy with.
I reckon the majority of them haha.
He hates the entirety of seasons 1-3. He wishes they didnt exist haha. Not a fan of them myself but they brought south park at its peak.
I'm gonna start watching this every Easter

Blame Canada not winning an Oscar still bothers me.
Crazy how they don’t give a shit telling the press straight up how they feel about methods of interviewing them
30:10 See that's 1000 iq right there. Genius!
I wonder who farted into the pa system.
No matter what you do in this world,
you WILL work 40-50 hrs a week
No way around it.
Even making cartoon people that shit their britches
Pretty sure they work a lot more than that
40-50 hours? LMAO that’s a good one
Are you trying to say thats a lot?
Thanks, buddies. 🇨🇦
So this is the secret of alchemy, this shit is gold.
absolute genius!!!!!!!
This episode was hilarious.
12:19 Bill Hader mentions SNL, which is funny because he's a main cast member on SNL.
Okay
29:25 your welcome
Thank you
matt & trey are my goats
George RR Martin could learn something from these guys
now i can see kenny's voice being done
edit: i think its actually kyle because i found out that they were voicing for the episode 'humancentipad'
Had no idea Bill Hader was a writer for SP
Wut fer?
I’m here for the pro bono joke 😂
God bless them for working so hard! And God bless you for uploading this!
