Well here’s the thing, liane is a little bit of a bad parent. Granted she’s nicer than butter’s parents but I can guarantee you she’ll probably treat him like a *friend* and not a *son* like with cartman. But liane won’t fail in the discipline part as she has a good amount of discipline (well kinda)
Butters parent are just abusive would either end with them ending Cartman or him making chilli out of butters parents main reason butters gets into trouble with his parents is because of cartman after all
Butters is at the center of so many hilarious South Park episodes. Both in the earlier seasons, and all the way up to the latest season when he makes Cartman's business a success, and then turns that against him to ruin Cartman's life by giving him his old home back.

That was my first thought too when binging Moral Orel a few months back, they have very similar home lives but have such pure and sweet souls in spite of it. I love them both
yeah, and like Butters (although not nearly as often), Jimmy is genuinely nice unlike the other kids; the differences with him is that he's quick to abandon his morals for easy wins whereas it took butters a long time to break, and that people find him charming instead of butters being seen as dorky
Butters is such a comfort character for me and he means the world to me. This little guy got me through high school, one of the worst periods of my life. His speech at the end of Raisins is something I still go back to in order to give me a boost. I see so much of my childhood self in him. What you said at the end of the video perfectly sums up why I love him so dearly: this little kid's been dragged through hell and back but he never stops being optimistic, kind, and sweet. He has his slip ups when he isn't as much, but with all he's been though can anyone blame him? But a few mistakes doesn't make him a bad person because we all make them. I would chew through concrete to protect this kid and he's not even real.

Butters is unique among the South Park children, because he actually has the mentality of a child. The others are really adults in children's bodies with adult minds, but Butters truly is a kid though sometimes of course he shows surprising maturity and mental stability. He is also easily the most moral of main cast, being able to instinctively know what is right and what is wrong most of the time unless being manipulated and even then he instinctively feels guilt when he's doing something he shouldn't, which is ironic since he gets grounded for the most ridiculous reasons. Butter's innocence and kind heart makes him easily one of the most popular kids in South Park because we cheer for the underdog, and he's always the underdog.
There are some episodes where all the South Park kids are innocent. There are also some episodes where Butters isn't all that innocent. It changes from time to time depending on the plot.
Just like Kenny, I LOVE Butters solely for himself having an actual heart and being one of the very few kids who actually behaves like a real one. He is so loving, it's beautiful. Even after all the crazy stuff he been through, Butters never gives up.

Butters is a truly beautiful character for understanding south park. We all start out with his optimistic and innocent perspective on life. Growing up, it gets thrashed out of us. But if we choose to continue on the path of growth, like Butters the restaurant owner, or butters after getting broken up with by the raisins girl, we actually come back to it. We decide that life is hard and horrible, and that we can still love it, and still hope for making it better. In Butters we have both the naive goofball and the wise old optimist. I feel like Pip deserves to be an important part in Butters history. Considering how even though Butters as a character wasn’t established yet. All the key traits he would have as a bullied character started with Pip. They just got passed onto a character that could allow for more possibilities.
Butters no matter what he does or is done to him: -is still optimistic -there for his friends -tries his hardest when working -treats his workers well (the pimpin episode and the facebook episode) -always tries to give eric whats coming to him Yet -still goes along with his shenanigans being a good friend Really out of all characters in show Butters is probably the best and most sane. I personally think that Butters' characterization in Hooked On Monkey Phonics could be a sign for things to come. He always goes along with whatever Cartman tells him to do, often either being the butt of jokes or going into territory where he bullies/mistreats others. While he's still our sweet little boy, I think this kind of reflects that. ALSO the homeschool kids are fresh meat. By bullying them, Butters effectively boosts himself up the SP elementary social ladder, not being at the bottom anymore. i'm putting way too much thought into this man......
The season 1 episode Damien shows that the way to stop getting bullied at South Park Elementary is to bully someone else, which is why Cartman started bullying Pip and Damien in turn started bullying Pip as well. Maybe Butters thought bullying the new homeschooled boy would make people stop bullying him, you could argue it only didn't work because they move out of the school in the end
Butters is the perfect character to not only foil Cartman, but to also give those who watch the show a role model in a sense. Despite how despicable his parents are, or how deplorable Cartman exploits him, he still maintains an optimism that only goes away when he becomes Professor Chaos. And even then, he's just using it as a means to get his pent-up frustration in a semi-serious way.
Butter's true essence is really distilled in The Stick of Truth game. He plays a Paladin, a noble warrior who is pure of heart. Bur he is also the party tank because he has a trait called "Natural Born Victim." This increases the likelihood that enemies will attack him rather than the other party members.

Butters has always been one of my absolute favorite characters, and I especially love him in the two recent South Park games. The fact he is your first follower and friend in "Stick of Truth" was a great highlight, and he packs a wallop, along with giving those good "pat on the back" heals. It broke my heart in that game when if you side with Kyle in the fight, you fight Butters, in which he will cry that nobody likes him once you beat him up. It just so heartwrenching.
Butters and Kenny are my fave characters in South Park and seeing these videos deep diving into their characters makes me so happy. As a Day 1 viewer of SP, the episodes that have stuck with me the most have Butters usually at the center. The "Simpsons Already Did It" episode and "Awesome-O" are two of my favorite episodes and Butters' "beautiful sadness" speech are the stand outs for me

They have similar voices and while voicing Butters they're mocking animation director, Eric Stough, so it's easy for Cartman (voiced by Trey) to make a Butters impression (voiced by Matt).

I remember my dad sending me to a conversion camp back in the day, it was a literal Hell. I remember after going through all that I stumbled upon the *Cartman Sucks* episode and honestly it was spot on. It made the whole experience less horrendous after watching
I love love LOVE Butters! I know he has it really tough because his naivete is often what gets him into trouble, but I really hope that if/when I have kids someday, at least one of them will be like Butters. Though if I had a kid like that, I'd probably get nothing done cuz all I'd want to do is hug him all the time.

After Kenny, Butters is easily the best kid character on the show! No matter how often life craps all over him, he's always able to bounce back with a smile on his face! A shame that he's still grounded though!
I swear looking back between the earlier seasons and some of the now season, it's almost incredible how much potential Butters have gone in growth both from his naive innocent child thoughts to how dedicated and hardworking of a fellow he is when he worked in that icecream shop to working all by himself in that hotdog stand. I won't lie, the many compilations of him being grounded by his parents, makes me wanna beat the crap out of his folks to let Butter freely do what he wants without being punished for no explicit reason. In a way, I like to think that plenty of us wish to be like Butters in being so optimistic, naive, and innocent, being happy, even when you're a full grown adult. One thing I enjoy was the 2 lessons he gave when people assume he was gay or when he got his heartbroken.
I had a little chicken named Echo on whom life shat so much but she remained the sweetest little thing. She was an ex battery hen who had been abused by other chickens and by humans, yet *very much like Butters she retained this cheeky cheerfulness that I found so inspiring;* even when she was a bit older and got sickly, she was able see the good side of life, even at the end when she got *really* sick. I helped her for much of her life but wish circumstances had allowed me to do more.
Butter’s Very Own Episode was the very first episode of South watched when I was younger . I was instantly hooked after that and he’s always been my fave character (along with Kenny)
It's almost amazing how concluding the Post-Covid future storyline was for most of the South Park characters. It feels like most of the character arcs for South Park's characters were fully realized or completed. Noticing the limited output of the show over the last few years, I wonder if Matt & Trey even want to do new episodes anymore, it feels like they are doing it more for contract than story at this point.
I think the reason why the amount of episodes per season has significantly decreased is because of Covid and the Paramount Plus Stuff When Covid happened, it affected the show's abliity to make a whole 10+ episode season because Episodes was almost always made in a week so they decided to do specials instead of regular episodes and the contract with Paramount Plus restricts the amount of episodes they make in a season nowadays Matt and Trey have said on numerous interviews in the last few or so years that they still enjoy writing for the show and that they still have a bunch of good ideas left so I don't think Matt and Trey are doing the show for just money, I think they are having the most fun with the show rn in years.
Butters’ Beautiful Sadness speech has always meant so much to me, I find myself going back to it a lot, whether I’m post break-up, experiencing loss, or just going through one of my usual depressive episodes. Butters as a whole has to be my favorite character, he’s just so sweet and always makes me smile. Out of all of South Park, my favorite episode has to be The Ungroundable. I adore Vampire Butters, and I love the goth kids so, so much.

Butters, Randy and Tolkien have been my favorite characters of late, I love that Matt and Trey could let these characters sit on the side or background, and then outta nowhere the next episode could be a full on character arc/fully fleshed out story that branches the show off in new directions adds new dynamics and lore and expand upon the original gangs life without it always haveing to be them as the main focused... South Park is the only cartoon to fully keep me invested with every on going season and still has me watch the new episodes and have that same feeling as when i go back to watching old episodes.. Butters has always been one of my absolute favorite characters, and I especially love him in the two recent South Park games. The fact he is your first follower and friend in "Stick of Truth" was a great highlight, and he packs a wallop, along with giving those good "pat on the back" heals. It broke my heart in that game when if you side with Kyle in the fight, you fight Butters, in which he will cry that nobody likes him once you beat him up. It just so heartwrenching.
Note to self: don't side with Kyle when I finally play this game

Butters and Kenny are my fave characters in South Park and seeing these videos deep diving into their characters makes me so happy. As a Day 1 viewer of SP, the episodes that have stuck with me the most have Butters usually at the center. The "Simpsons Already Did It" episode and "Awesome-O" are two of my favorite episodes and Butters' "beautiful sadness" speech are the stand outs for me

@@fumothfan9Well Matt and Trey are good at voice impressions. That's why they're voice actors for South Park after all (and also because they hate actors and want to save money). They have similar voices and while voicing Butters they're mocking animation director, Eric Stough, so it's easy for Cartman (voiced by Trey) to make a Butters impression (voiced by Matt).

I remember my dad sending me to a conversion camp back in the day, it was a literal Hell. I remember after going through all that I stumbled upon the *Cartman Sucks* episode and honestly it was spot on. It made the whole experience less horrendous after watching

The moment I fell in love with Butters was his speech about being sad to the goth kids. I named my cat Butters too.
I love love LOVE Butters! I know he has it really tough because his naivete is often what gets him into trouble, but I really hope that if/when I have kids someday, at least one of them will be like Butters. Though if I had a kid like that, I'd probably get nothing done cuz all I'd want to do is hug him all the time.

Literally discovered your SP vids yesterday and was thinking how cool it would be to have a Butters breakdown. Crazy.
After Kenny, Butters is easily the best kid character on the show! No matter how often life craps all over him, he's always able to bounce back with a smile on his face!
A shame that he's still grounded though!
I swear looking back between the earlier seasons and some of the now season, it's almost incredible how much potential Butters have gone in growth both from his naive innocent child thoughts to how dedicated and hardworking of a fellow he is when he worked in that icecream shop to working all by himself in that hotdog stand. I won't lie, the many compilations of him being grounded by his parents, makes me wanna beat the crap out of his folks to let Butter freely do what he wants without being punished for no explicit reason. In a way, I like to think that plenty of us wish to be like Butters in being so optimistic, naive, and innocent, being happy, even when you're a full grown adult.
One thing I enjoy was the 2 lessons he gave when people assume he was gay or when he got his heartbroken.
I had a little chicken named Echo on whom life shat so much but she remained the sweetest little thing. She was an ex battery hen who had been abused by other chickens and by humans, yet *very much like Butters she retained this cheeky cheerfulness that I found so inspiring;* even when she was a bit older and got sickly, she was able see the good side of life, even at the end when she got *really* sick. I helped her for much of her life but wish circumstances had allowed me to do more.

Butter’s Very Own Episode was the very first episode of South watched when I was younger . I was instantly hooked after that and he’s always been my fave character (along with Kenny)
Butters is my favorite character just because he is the only character you can GENUINELY empathize with as just being a good kid at heart
It's almost amazing how concluding the Post-Covid future storyline was for most of the South Park characters. It feels like most of the character arcs for South Park's characters were fully realized or completed. Noticing the limited output of the show over the last few years, I wonder if Matt & Trey even want to do new episodes anymore, it feels like they are doing it more for contract than story at this point.
I think the reason why the amount of episodes per season has significantly decreased is because of Covid and the Paramount Plus Stuff
When Covid happened, it affected the show's abliity to make a whole 10+ episode season because Episodes was almost always made in a week so they decided to do specials instead of regular episodes and the contract with Paramount Plus restricts the amount of episodes they make in a season nowadays
Matt and Trey have said on numerous interviews in the last few or so years that they still enjoy writing for the show and that they still have a bunch of good ideas left so I don't think Matt and Trey are doing the show for just money, I think they are having the most fun with the show rn in years.
Butters’ Beautiful Sadness speech has always meant so much to me, I find myself going back to it a lot, whether I’m post break-up, experiencing loss, or just going through one of my usual depressive episodes. Butters as a whole has to be my favorite character, he’s just so sweet and always makes me smile. Out of all of South Park, my favorite episode has to be The Ungroundable. I adore Vampire Butters, and I love the goth kids so, so much.

Butters deserves some respect I mean he’s literally the main secondary character in the show and he’s got a pretty solid personality he’s nice well spoken (even though he’s soft) he has a heart of gold
Butters, Randy and Tolkien have been my favorite characters of late, I love that Matt and Trey could let these characters sit on the side or background, and then outta nowhere the next episode could be a full on character arc/fully fleshed out story that branches the show off in new directions adds new dynamics and lore and expand upon the original gangs life without it always haveing to be them as the main focused... South Park is the only cartoon to fully keep me invested with every on going season and still has me watch the new episodes and have that same feeling as when i go back to watching old episodes.. I never do not have a good time with southpark
