Even in the completely bonkers and varied world of South Park, one character stands out as… particularly out there. But at least he always has good advice! Or, at least he always has consistent advice. Towelie was basically introduced as a joke-character in season 5, and while he’s mostly remained a joke across the series, there is no question that he is one of the most iconic in the show’s history. So don’t forget to bring your towel and uhhh, prepare however else you might want to. And join me as we dive into the highs and lows of the life of Towelie, and then get out and dry ourselves off. With a Towel.

I recently bought a Towelie Towel. I love it.
For whatever reason, I never saw his episode and my first introduction was a million little fibers. I was very confused. Now I have context, and it didn't make me any less confused.
No mention of the theory that Towlie in recent years has been retconed into a hallucination that Randy has? He almost never interacts with anyone else, and any interactions he does have are extremely limited, it easy to imagine Randy doing a Tyler Durdon. And like Johnny says, Towlies origin is basically irrelevant at this point.
... the kids have repeatedly interacted with him when Randy was nowhere nearby.

i found your channel thru Bojack videos. those are great because there's a strong thruline for every character in a show where characters matter. interesting and a touch of "wow i didn't think of that about them."

I don’t understand the hype behind the character tbh but he’s enjoyable to watch and not too unbearable on screen.
I find him funny but not the best. However, a lot of characters had more Flanderzation than him

I always figured Towelie's origin was more of a reference to Short Circuit, and its whole plot line, rather than Terminator directly.
I feel like towley gets unfair hate, like hes definitely not a "gets his own episode" character because they did NOT do a super job making those interesting but i feel he's a great side character much like Mr Hankey, Bug Gay Al, etc. i absolutely enjoyed seeing him back in the show through, id also love to hear an update on washcloth and is life in general.

I'd be down to see video like this about Craig. Looking back it's interesting how many different niches and characterizations he's gone through, from being one of the background kids with a flip-off gimmick, to sorta being Stan's rival for a while, then reimagined as a sardonic character poking holes in the plot, to changing again when he was paired with Tweek.
