I wish I had bought the 78 instead of the 79. I like the 79 just fine, but I have much more use for the Phillips than the corkscrew. Both are great camp knives. The saw is a beast.
Hi does the main blade very slightly rise and fall when you open and close the screwdriver? I have the RangerGrip79 and every time I open the corkscrew which is in the same position as the screwdriver on the 78 model, the main knife very slightly goes up and down, just want to find out if this is normal. thanks!
I just took a look at that. Yes the main blade does rise and fall with movement of the screwdriver. Both blades share the same spring mechanism causing this to happen. My opinion; that's normal. I love this knife :-)
@@aarouswiss thanks so much for your reply, I will keep mine then, seems to be a standard thing, and does not really impact anything, it seems like a very useful device for camping :)
Hi, do you still have this knife? If so, is there any movement in the blade when locked. Blade play, lock rock etc.? I recieved a 55 yesterday and the blade kan move a little when locked.

It's one of my favorite knives. Very nice!
Have you looked at the tortoise firefly to go in the corkscrew? I use a fire steel more than a Phillips when camping…

Does the saw lock open too?

Yes, I still have this knife. The blade is relatively tight but does have a very small bit of movement. It's a great knife.
@@aarouswiss It is! I decided to keep mine since the play was very limited :-)
