Here is an idea for a game: You are not the one who is reporting the anomolie, your the one fixing them. When an anomoly is reported, you have to go to the room specified and find the anomoly. However, some are false alarms, and it will be up to you to determine if the report was true or not.
That, or you can play with your friends and you try to be an anomaly in the room and one or the other will win (the anomaly or the surveillance guy)

Im so glad someone thought of it before me
God, I love that I'm on observation duty spawned other types of the same game. these kinds of horror spot-the-difference kind of things are quite enjoyable (to watch and play)
I was just about to write this comment. The fact that this genre exploded with so many good games is spectacular.
Best part is, watching is pretty similar to playing. We might not have the controls to report the anomalies, but most of the game is spot the difference anyways
Those motels in America are shady af. Never get one where there’s a lot of gentleman’s clubs; never stop at a rest stop at night if you’re alone; never stop to pick up hitchhikers (there’s a sign in Oklahoma that says “hitchhikers may be escaped inmates”), and more.
Recently in my town, I’ve been hearing about people putting zip ties on peoples windshield wipers and then kidnapping them or whatever it’s called… I’m sleeping with a massive headache
There's a small town near where I live where its a few hundred houses, couple churches, 2 bars, and a prison. We had a sign like that 15-20 years ago. They took it out at some point; either people stopped picking up hitchikers in my area or the town officials were worried it would scare potential movers away 🤣
Observation style games that have the intruders respond to you reporting them are the BEST variation. I'd love to see ones that have non-intruder anomalies respond too (a faulty painting shattering or getting handprints, the TV talking to you directly, etc...)
I'm actually started watching Insym from the first I'm On Observation Duty video and he became my comfort youtuber since. Dunno why but Insym just have that energy that tingles my ADHD brain the best.
He is funny and energetic so I don't loose interest but also soft and sweet so I can relax in the end of my day
"tingles my ADHD brain" LMAO i love this and its so true
Here's an idea that someone could use if they want to. You're a security guard for different places (ie. Mall, college, hospital, sports facility, park, etc) and your shifts are during morning/dayshift/ maybe some evening hours. The day to day people that you see in these locations typically aren't anomalies, so you need to know what to look for. Each area has specific kinds of anomalies that will suit the area; some realistic, others not so much.
Example: mall. Energetic groups/gang activity, stalking/kidnapping, theft, property damage, violence. weirder examples would be someone clipping out of reality (backrooms style) a door opening to another world, mannequins coming to life (either wholesome pranks or darker stuff)
Example: Park, Litter, bonfires, damaged property (trees, playground equipment, etc) stalker, serial killer, signs of some kind of crytid (ie bigfoot, wendigo, depending on the area).
Now to make this premise unique.... Have random storylines that you can have an effect on, and have them be as silly/serious as you want. See signs of the cryptid? That might scare people away from the park, and cost you your job; so instead try hiding it from the public. Lure it back to the woods, clean up any signs, etc.
Do you want to go more serious?
You're watching the mall camera, and you notice a kid with their mother walking in; you love the cool shirt that they're wearing. Later you notice that same kid walking/maybe being dragged out by someone else. You have two minutes to save that kid, what do you do?
You're watching the college camera, someone's in the parking lot that shouldn't be there, or someone is trailing after a student; and the student is clearly getting scared. How do you handle it?
These are just examples, but you get the general idea.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk, and if you have anything that you want to add feel free to comment :)
47:10 the biggest problem with Barotrauma is that you need a group of min 3 to effectively play it.
For solo you need like a special submarine from workshop and for duo while a lot is possible having to split between sub steering, fixing dmg, doing dmg and potentially fighting off onboard intruders is a lot of work for a duo. Recovering from a critical dmg during a fight is so difficult as duo.
The learning curve is steep too - but it's definitely worth it. Very fun to play with a group of friends.
Id love a multiplayer game like this, where theres like 2 people on team anomaly and 1 person on the cameras trying to spot what the other players changed
The reason why most "survive the night" games start at 10pm and end at 6am is, because that's how most night shifts go in real life as well!
2:30 I LOVE that we don't know those things. The boundless mystery is infinitely more interesting than any concrete explanation would be.
2:30?
The fact Insym has somehow forgotten the live-action Observation game and how it added some innovation as well... That one was so fun, and the anomalies didn't have to be terribly jarring. I think it was what made that one so good.
The whole conversation about hitchhikers made me think of a dream I had a few nights ago where a game called Hitchhiker Simulator got released and I have no idea what was supposed to happen in the game, if it was horror or what, because all I saw of it was a couple of streamers do a really long "beating Hitchhiker Simulator without ever getting in a car" play through where they just walked 100 miles along the road while bantering for like twelve hours or however long it took.
My idea for an observation duty like game would be one where anomalies like missing items cannot kill you, but the more of them there are, the more intruders spawn and they can kill you. You are somewhere in the building that is being observed and if hostile anomalies reach you, you die. They move around between the rooms and you have to time the reporting so that they are in the room you are reporting when the fix happens.
Perhaps you could impliment an emergency report system where you immediately report and unpower the camera/shut the door and are unable to observe anything else until the anomaly is reported, BUT the anomaly cannot kill you between the report time and the fix time, nor can any other?
Isn't that just FNAF, essentially?
I can always trust insym to bring the best indie games to us
Honestly his random horror game videos are my favourite. I kinda got bored of phasmo a long while ago but his other content keeps me coming back
I really really want someone to make an SCP Observation Duty. I feel like SCP is so untapped when it comes to different styles of games. You could even make an SCP FNAF style game too.
I think there is a FNAF scp game but I can't remember what it's called
@@gwynleah204AstralSpiff played it
Okay the intruder at 18:41 genuinely gave me the chills and I had goosebumps because it came on so suddenly!! 😂 Well done!!
I’m not sure if you play roblox, Insym, but there is a “I’m on Observation Duty” style game called “Night Watch” it is a very well made game. I suggest you play it. Keep up the good videos man! Love your content!
Can we just have a moment to appreciate insym’s hardwork ❤

i like this observation game. The locations aren't so ABSOLUTELY DROWNED in tons of tiny details, intricate patterns (like carpets and wallpapers), and just like 40 objects per camera to track. I mean, this game could get away with adding a little more clutter to make things a little harder, but it actually feels like you can manage it. Imo it just feels like some of the other games have way too much going on for a single person to process and it leads to some anomalies being so undetectable that you could play the same map 2 dozen times with it active and never know they were there.
Thank you for all your hard work, Insym! You're freakin awesome! ♥️
Nice, Another Observation Game 😆

I wish I knew how to make a observation game, I have a couple really cool ideas. Love your videos as always Insym. Thanks for introducing me to the genre a year back.
This is going waaayyy back in the day, but Sega CD had the game "Night Trap"... These games remind me of it so much, except you have to set off traps to capture intruders...
Let's just say it insym is the most consistent horror game up loader on the platform
We genuinely love you 💛 & your content 💛💛💛🥹🙏🏽
Night guard at a museum game. You go around making sure items at a museum are not stolen by burglars. The only problem is it’s not burglars stealing, but anomalies changing items and that sort. Instead of constantly watching cameras, you’re able to walk around the museum. A storyline for it could be that the museum knows about these anomalies because some of the items held in the museum are the cause of these anomalies and non-human intrusions. They just don’t want you to know that.
Don't know if this idea would be good but: an observation duty type of game where you have to fix the anomalies while keeping someone in the house alive and unware of stuff happening in other rooms. Like you would follow this person moving in the house (say they go from watching tv in the living room to making something to eat in the kitchen to the bedroom to play on their pc) and while they are distracted you would check for anomalies in the rest of the house, maybe you could call their phone or use something to distract the person you are keeping safe if the anomalies are in the same room? For intruders it would be interesting if they added a kidnapper type of anomalies and you had to deal with them too maybe?
Love your videos and sorry for my english, a hug from Italy
Just imagine making a little game and getting a whole game genre out of it i mean "Observaton Duty style".
I love your channel! Just got my glasses so I can watch your videos more often!! ❤
A first person I'm on observation duty where you have a character and you walk around the rooms of a certain house with anomalies would be great and the more difficult the level, the more anomalies there are. Also, being jumpscared by an intruder would be horrifying in first person while slowing walking around. It would be cool to also see very detailed anomalies in this.
I'm on observation duty 3 did that.
Very cool game! Loving the variety and spooks 😀
I think it would be interesting to have a observation duty type of game in which a team of “ghost identifiers” set up cameras around a place that has been reported to be haunted and the player has to look out for different types of ghost activities during the night in order to identify the ghost. The activities may have something to do with the history of the place that may lead to the ghost type (something like a door opening and closing 3 times in a row because the ghost died at 3am, but it would only happen when the clock reaches 3am and would happen again every 30 min until the player reported it). I think it would be cool
I think it probably my fav style of horror genre. Finding anomalies before big man, ghost/weird naked intruders get you 🖼📦👻👞
Insym has to file taxes every 2-3 months? Someone give this guy a medal - even filing once a year is a nightmare 😖
You know that a game is not that great when Insym has more fun talking about his taxes.
Insym trying to finish a story will never not be funny to me xD
i would love to an observation duty game inspired by reality bending SCPs, you would watch the anomalies and dispatch someone to use a reality anchor, or maybe go there yourself to control the situation
My favorite genre right now. I absolutely love these games.
Can't wait for more Barotrauma content man
Omg!!! I’m exactly the same! I’ll play a game for 300 hours or more and then totally quit and move on immediately to another game. The burnout is very real 😂
To those who are new to I'm on Observation duty, Please don't read my comment as it would mention some things from the game! just keep on scrolling through the comments or watch the videos and yeah, I just want to mention this so no one would complain!
There are three different Types of Intruders that I know that are In: I'm On Observation Duty.
1: The quick time intruders where you have to report very quickly before they can get you. This makes you get locked in the room with them!
2: The ones where you have to report and leave the room, fail to do so would get you killed, they are not that friendly but are more better than the quick time intruders.
3: The ones that are not really a threat, but can still kill you, if you leave them too long! those ones are my favorite!
Many people never really add those in game, well it would take some time to add, even if the two intruders was never really meant to kill you, I am glad they are in the 1st game! I want one that has all three.
6:59 Mandela invasion I found so creepy not only because of the intruders but because you think it’s over at 6, but you get to 6 and salvation doesn’t come lol
Your videos make my day always better! Thank you for your hard work!!
Amount of anomalies based on time played would be an interesting thought. Don't know how they'd program it tho 😅
Yoooooooooo, my favorite guy! Playing my favorite genre! What an awesome day to be alive!
I've always found it neat seeing two entirely different horror genres somehow mix perfectly
Enjoy this man's content, even with the trio. Would love to see him play 123 Slaughter Me Street. It's a horror game, rather different.
Hey insym big fan of the phasmophobia videos they taught me a lot
Playing Factorio while watching this and hearing Insym's comment at around the 48 minute mark.
Cool nice to see you playing another one of these
The Mystery Dungeon games were not the first of that gameplay style... As I'm sure you know or could assume.. The Chocobo's Dungeon franchise were the first games in that style I played, and my favorite. I couldn't get into it with Pokemon.
As for Zack and Cody... Yes! That may have been my favorite live action show of all time... and the PRNDL + AM or FM scene is one of the best. Based opinion!
I love the pokemon rescue team games that actually let you befriend dungeon pokemon and add them. The rescue team game that restricts how many of certain pokemon you can get pissed me off.
Honestly I feel we need to get more of the 3D moving observation duty games
i think the reason 6am is the default "safety hour" is because most night shifts end at that time (i work security and have to do some overnights so that's at least what my experience with it is)
This could be a game idea:
You find an anomaly but instead of the game fixing it for you, you have to get up and fix it yourself. There'll be 3 options where you can put it, 2 of them wrong one of them right, and if u get it right u get to go back and finds other anomaly's. However, if incorrect an intruder of some sort chases you, or even another anomaly gets added. And whilst you are out of your computer, if you come across an intruder or a different anomaly you could try to remove it yourself or hide an get back to your computer (a safe space) and do it all again. Obviously the bigger the map the harder it will be fixing anomalies. Also you could report multiple anomalies then fix them in bulk and what not. But the longer you leave an anomaly unfixed the more dangerous it becomes or something and it either game overs you after a while or adds an intruder which will hunt you.
man insym talking about making games makes me even more inspired to learn how to make games :') I want to so badly but i feel like it would require math or something really complicated.. which makes me wanna stick to digital/irl art
53:42 samee 😭i hate how i do that too
this game looks awesome af
The views were on 696 before I clicked but I can't miss an Insym vid
Thank you for always feeding us, i suggest a nice vacation on the 15th
30:45 The Russites are really upping their preaching game.
I literally took a picture of each room at the beginning of the game so I could pause the video and compare the picture to the screen to notice the difference lol
I think it'd be cool to have a first person observation duty where you had some sort of device to fix them. Walking around while stuff changes behind you would be so unnerving
Observation Duty 3. People didn't really like it as much.
I'd love a game where I can be the anomaly, and to create as much destruction to the place and like take over it would be good... a game of chess, but like i'm the pieces
theres no way chat is bad at this LMAO
I have never met anyone who also played Freddi Fish as a child omg none of my friends know these games and I loved them so much back then!!
Imagine a difficulty slider in those games. 5 settings.
5 am 5:15 - 5:30 - 5:45 - 6 am
It's like Easy - Medium - Hard - Nightmare.
And it's not only expanding the time you need to survive. It also makes it more difficult.
Nothing good will come from knowing too much.
this is the only type of game that scares me you never know whats on the other camera
cmn let`s goooo
letsss gooooo new video
It was a lil annoying it took that long for anyone to get the running sink in the kitchen, lol.
never thought i would be this early lol, excited to see this one!!
We have that same ice machine in our FedEx building. Ours also has a water spout so we can fill our water bottles with water and ice in our coolers. It would be very expensive for us drivers to buy a bag of ice everyday
IN THE FIRST RUN THERE WAS AN EXTRA OBJECT IN THE KITCHEN ABOVE THE SINK AND HE DIDNT SEE IT FOR 10+ MINUTES AND I COULDNT SAY ANYTHUNG AHHHH
To any game dev reading this. A eldritch horror type of observation duty game would be cool. Space station weird cthulu type of entities popping up
when I first watch observation duty gameplay I always wonder how or who fixes them
need co-op game... one half reports anomalies, and the other half goes to remove them...
spoopy gaem
I would say the reason 6am is popular because it's when "morning" technically begins. from 12 pm to 6 pm it's day. 6 pm to 12 am it's evening. from 12 am to 6 am it's night and from 6 am to 12 pm it's morning.
I think the reason it’s popular is because of FNAF, but the reason FNAF probably did it in the first place is for this reason yeah
the new pokemon games are multiple save, the ones on switch obviously, you can have as many as you want between different devices and users on your console
It would be both funny and terrifying if an intruder appears and blocks the camera just to punch it into oblivion, causing you to have to report a(n) intruder AND a(n) camera malfunction.
22:43
My man needs a chiropractor ASAP.
Love the video. can you play the game Paranormal Cleanup on steam?
THERE IS A NEW MAP ON PARANORMAL INC.! WE'RE WAITING FOR YOUR VIDEO!
I think that US people use the word patio because it comes from spanish, because, it's the exactly same word on spanish to refeer on something like a backyard, but it can be anywhere, not only at the back of a house, but if is on the front, it´s called porche, like the deportive car, but it's pronounced somehow like the word patio, but por-che
I would love to see a game like this, but you're defending people from progressively creepier/worse anomalies. And then if you don't get them in time, the people you're protecting get brutalized or something and it permanently affects the rest of the run. Imagine going through the cameras and every time you see this one person working at their computer and some weird creepo gets closer and closer to them.
oh a welcome to the game observe duty would be very good
Ngl I could never do observation games, I can barely tell what's different IRL, let alone in a game.
A german yt still does "DONT DO THIS AT 3 AM" (rebecca wing)
In the first round there are supposed to be red pillows on the bed. I was practically dying inside when no one mentioned it 😭😭😭😭
In the hotel the numbers 302 on the outside of the room can switch :) like in the last game
Am I the only one questioning in the hotel that it says "Cam04: Room 302" but in the hallway 203 is the right number? :D
14:05 Missed the extra light at the hallway area. There's only two, not three.
its 6am because thats generally when daylight starts for most people for the majority of the year. Also FNAF.
am i the only one that heard the sound in the mic when insym is talking?!

It's really disappointing to hear that the Welcome To The Game guy is doing ANOTHER new game when he still hasn't made any progress on Rides With Strangers, he got SO much money on Kickstarter for it and has made several other games since then and all he does is argue with people who ask for updates. I'm one of the lucky ones who got my money back from that campaign but man, it's so disappointing. I love these Observation Duty style games a lot so the worst part is that I know the WTTG dev's version is going to be solid, too.
