"The Intruder" is a specific entity in the Mandela Catalogue lore. Hes the one that appears to people and speaks to them through the TV.
His main traits are a hoodie, an impossibly wide smile, nose and mouth (since a lot of entities don’t have them need to specify) and a general uneasiness that’s hard to put into exact words

@@TheLocomono9 Yup, that's what those 2 drawings are on the fridge. One is of the intruder and the other is of stairs with a dark doorway/hallway in the middle where he appeared to the kid that drew it (at least that's what I remember anyway).
Pretty sure the sounds in the basement was the intruder too

That Scream at 48:00 is by far the most genuine scream i think i have ever heard insym make. That was complete fear in his voice

So from what I know, the dev stopped working on it because of time restraints. They did mention they might work on it more in the future, just wish it was a purchasable game because it's actually AMAZING in terms of atmosphere, the scares and the overall quality.

I'm an indie dev. Every time I watch these I get inspired to make one of these games just because of how much Insym seems to enjoy them.
@@hayleycakes3435 I definitely will! 😁Indie games are a lot of fun to work on, too. It's quite an experience to see bits of code slowly come together to create an entirely new world. I don't know whether or not anything me and my co-dev will produce is going to break the internet (as awesome as it'd be though) but it's not our primary goal anyway. That is to say, we're not building games for the sake of fame, we're building games because it's what we love to do, and we hope people will love them as much as we love to work on them.
We've actually got a lineup of titles in the concept phase though only one is in active development with an initial release set for winter of this year at the very earliest, though likely still 1-2 years out. A first release is a first impression after all, and it'll set expectations moving forward so we want it to be perfect. That's not to say that it's a grind to work on it, particularly because it's a game in a genre that especially my co-dev is very passionate about so we're having a lot of fun developing and testing.
Our hope is to one day be able to start a larger game development studio - but one that breaks the nasty mold of 'crunch' that seems to have taken over the industry. It breaks my heart to see so many devs go into the industry with a lot of love and passion for the craft, only to leave again a few years later after having been worn to the bone. We want to be that studio that does it right, delivering quality products from a team that just plain loves their jobs.
@@TWGuardian Thats a cool story, it reminded me of how I used to work on creating my own follower in skyrim because my dream is to be a voice actor and I wanted to take matters into my own hands in a way but that didnt really work out for me because I never really had the courage to share it with anyone but my friends... anyway (no one asked I know) I wish you all the best with your development, success and hopefully you have a lot of fun! :)
Mimics are one of my top scary monsters. A regular monster you know what you're dealing with.
A mimic creates paranoia and the fear that anyone or anything could be out to get you.
Or slightly flawed mimics/doppelgangers.
Could even be your best friends or family members. Behave completely normally, even for years, unsuspicious, until one day you point that something's wrong with their body (like extra little finger, weird teeth, leg proportions slightly off). After that they immediately turn hostile and reveal their true form, because there's no point in pretending if the cat is out of the bag.

Mimics of regular objects become less scary when you imagine them as monsters whose sole purpose of existing is playing prop hunt irl.
Imagine seeing an extra box in your living room and you stare at it, wondering if it was there before, and it starts awkwardly sliding away.

I can't believe this was cancelled! It is far and away the _best_ Observation Duty-style game. It does what the original does so well and then innovates really successfully on top of it. And it's the only one I've seen that actually gets the balance of anomalies exactly right. I want them to un-cancel it!

Mimic is extra object, displacement is object movement
Electrical and Imagery should be self explanatory
Pure Forms are the shadow entities with the glowing white eyes
Flawed are the disfigured, twitchy people
Intruder is a figure cloaked in black accompanied by constant whispering
Tulpa can only be seen in mirrors and reflections
Corpses are not in the game(yet?)
Unknown is anything that doesn't fit into the above categories

The attention to detail of this game is amazing. I really hope the dev picks this back up, you can really see how much love and effort got put into this project. At 59:20, you can see that as the pure form is getting closer, not only is it looking at the camera, but its reflection on the mirror is too 😮
Honestly, one simple thing I think observation duty games miss that would make them 10 times scarier are nornal humans. In alternate watch there's already an option to report a corpse, but imagine if throughout a night there's a chance a completely normal house robber breaks in, walks around, start searching for a valuable goods. You'd want to report him, but there's no appropriate anomaly type so all you can do is watch. Eventually you'll just give up and treat the guy as your new pal until bam - you find his mutilated corpse or, if you're unlucky, you'll get to see how an animaly brutally murders the guy. Now you know what's a "corpse" option is for. Adding to that, maybe if you leave the corpse alone for some time it becomes an anomaly itself and maybe could be seen in your next playthrough as an easter egg.

This one is by far the scariest observation duty-like game I've seen ever be played just because of the hyperrealism of the graphics. It creeped me out so much the entire video, especially when looking at the stairs and living room for some reason

Considering the pure form was always in the basement and you can see the basement from the stairs, it’d be interesting if when you encounter it and don’t report it in time, it will break the camera and some time later go to do the same in the stairs, eventually making it to all the cameras and causing a game over
Love that Gabriel's voice triggers at 3:33am each time, not sure its exactly an easter egg but Mandela fans iykyn

Your content makes me so happy, it’s so wonderful that you are able to push out SO MANY VIDEOS every single day. Also, you should play White Day. It was released in 2015 and is a Korean, hyperstylized game with focus on puzzle solving, storyline, horror, and choices. There are also LOTS of scares. With 10 different endings, it would definitely be good for streaming! I’m surprised it’s not played as often because it’s so well made. It’s hard to explain, but I would definitely check it out. If you look at the Anomaly list in the main menu, it actually tells you the labels of reporting so you don't have to keep guessing and could avoid future camera breaks.

dude, that lighting is insane. it doesn't just reflect in the mirror, it reflects and paths on the laptop and individual shards of the broken mirror in the bedroom too! and in the dark living room the VCR lights peer out on top of the television when the light is out of the area. when it's IN the area, the light shines underneath and behind the VCR. add a little paralax to the shadows and you'd think this was UE5. eat your heart out, RTX
These videos are right on the borderline between entertaining and frustrating whenever you notice something that he keeps overlooking. Not to mention the fact that he didn’t bother to read the rules before playing and just winged it through trial and error lol

Game appears to have been made in Unreal 5, with it's Lumen features. That's probably why it had such great lighting, especially with proper reflections!

I still find it crazy how the church used for the lore of the Mandela Catalogue is the "Holy Hill Basilica" or the "Church on the Hill". Cuz ive actually been there quite a few times. Its a pretty place :)
all these games that use the same assets as phasmo give me such a weird feeling because everything is so familiar yet i haven't really seen it before.
Not sure why Insym assumes losing a camera makes anomalies stop spawning in there. That would make it beneficial to lose cameras.

For the pure form in the basement it's probably Mandela Catalogue lore. So you can know its pure form if you watched the videos and with a bit of deduction. Since alternate take people's form then it having no form and being fully black could be enough to guess that's it's pure form.
At ~10:04 the blue cereal box(?) appeared to have moved because the "displacement" report filed at ~8:55 (intended for the cup on the table) returned it to its original position (on its side). The upright position is the anomalous position.

the broken mirror in living room means there is a tulpa on the loose if i recall correctly from myths about them
it happens when tulpa became more powerful than it should be and the person who made them can't contain it so they or tulpa itself breaks mirrow while communicating i assume
so yeah there was a person who said that tulpa is the one who can only be seen in mirrors
and good job taru for screaming in "brain worked that one time" mode about flawed (guy in the second playthrough in the kitchen) and scaring himself to death i am still shaking

Pure forms are beings with white eyes, the thing that broke your camera in the basement is one. Also even if you lost the camera stuff can still go on.
There’s a page in settings (may be wrong where it is) where it tells you what each of them mean, and how to Identify them ^^

Really neat, I do think it could be tweaked to be better though. Like the pacing is too fast, you just end up manically searching and reporting anomalies right from the start
