If I were playing this game on stream, I'd take a moment and shed a few tears for it.
Insym, please take a Lamp and an Apple. Point the lamp at the apple and show everybody how the shadow is going towards the light.
It's especially funny to see you explain exactly how the shadow would exist, but then failing to realize that there literally is no light to make that shadow, because the light is coming from the opposite direction
It is also a pitch black shadow
To be fair, he did hypothesize that there was a window that the cam couldn't see. I guess he just chose to throw that hypothesis out the window (which was out of view :P)
The light seems to be coming from the window. Unless there was a light under the bed, I cannot see why the shadow would be “normal”. Or maybe I’m just exhausted and can’t comprehend life

20:30 - The bed is illuminated from above and in front, which should cast a shadow below and behind. The shadow on the floor was in front of the bed.
The shadow under the bed isn't normal. The light source is behind the camera, so any shadow cast by the bed would be invisible to the viewer.
The money system gives me an interesting idea. What if there were an "Unknown Anomaly" report you could use to match any anomaly, but get significantly less money? That way, if you really have no idea, you can decide whether to go for the big payout at a risk or play it safe and preserve the run.
And how messed up would it be if the Shrek video changed to Shrek 2 and that was the entire anomaly?
The speed in which I realized this was a Source game is unreal. What a cool game :)
Also, the light source didn't match up with the shadow direction, so the shadow is the anomaly. Also, the light source is out of view, it's on the same wall as the camera.
The crates, the cactus plant, etc. Hahaha

According to the dev's comments it's in the Godot engine. So the Half-Life 2 assets are simply stolen.

Ok I found out they didn't say anything rude. I DO see where Insym is coming from because he's thinking realistically. This is a cheap indie game, realism is an idea floating in the air, don't know why he got so aggressive.

That's one of the best "that's what she said" jokes I've heard in a while.
For the Bed, you are right in concept, Insym, but stupid in this example. You can see the light comes in from the bottom right, and goes half way up the bed. So Shadows would be BEHIND the bed, on the upper left wall corner the bed it pushed against. NOT the bottom right. You are correct, if there WAS a Light on the left way, and down lower in view, it 'could' make the bed cast a shadow in the annomaly way. But the light isn't THERE. Which is the POINT. THAT is what makes it an Anomoly. There is no light there, so how is it casting a shadow in that way? That's a Shadow Anomoly. A light anomoly is where there is extra light, not extra shadows.
My lord his rant on that frustrated me more than it should have, mostly because he asked a viewer if they've ever been outside, which was COMPLETELY uncalled for and then he proceeded to explain shadows incorrectly...
Also the light was very soft, so even if the light was in the correct angle for that shadow, the shadow shouldn't look as pronounced.

@@Baallerith Yeah, sometimes he is really an asshole... I wouldn't have expected that from him, he appears to be a good guy. I love the content, but his personality sometimes annoys me, this will probably make me forget his channel and pick someone else.

if you want to cheat at this game. screenshot the normal picture then cross your eyes. You should see basically 4 images. relax your eyes so that 2 images line up on top of eachother.itll create a 3d effect. Where you see a blur or distortion is where your anomaly is.

It may be a day for weeks and "tomorrow" will not be in next few hours or a day. We call those "white nights"
I'm not easily scared by horror games, but psychological aspect of knowing, that a certaing jumpscare will come at any time with disturbing pictures and very disturbing screams - that shit made me shaking while watching your stream!

Also, it's a delight to see more games of this type appearing, they're such a unique yet simple horror experience! "Spot the difference" is one of the favorite games of childhood, and getting to experience it in horror setup with you and the chat - can't ask more from life ❤

I play this one on my phone and it's my favorite fan made IOOD games
It could be a little easier than any other IOOD games but it can easily get you out of guard. For example the 2nd map has a toilet that can change to many different things some might be other when some others are object change
There is also the intruder on the door that jumpscares you so much that l think it may surpassed some intruder jumpscares from the main titles

Challenge idea:
- choose one Observation Duty game;
- keep the first non-lethal anomaly until 6:00;
- if the same type of anomaly shows up with the one you're saving, DON'T report it. That first anomaly needs to "survive" until 6:00;
- do it on every level.

Hey insym i’d really recommend you try this out, there is a 7 hour long (could be way shorter, but it really depends on speed) puzzle/platform/horror game on VRChat. The world is called “the devouring”, you can play it both on pc or in vr but it’s super cool. There are a couple of other game modes too i’d recommend like “unshattered destination” or “obsession” but they are not as long. It would be so cool to see you play this. Either way, love the videos as always.
I wonder if the developers are from post-soviet country or they just been inspired. Like the hut is the generic old house in the middle of the post-soviet village. I’ve definitely been in like this type of house in my childhood. Also, the very distinct thing is the red box in the kitchen of the hut. It’s the most popular cube sugar😂
I think the game was made on source engine. All of those objects are from Half-Life 2 so I doubt developers are from post soviet countries.

These games are best in stream bc it's backseat city and I can finally yell to the world that i know something! but YT is great for going back and looking at every little detail i missed or instantly answer the question "was that always there" or jumping back a few seconds when I hear a gasp. I'm addicted to Insym I'm on Observation Duty content @_@

On the entrance on the first map, the light is coming from the right side of the screen, u can see it by the light in the bed. if the Light and the Shadow is on the same side... somehting is off.

i think this was pretty cool, but it would've been a LOT better without the dumb animatronics from other properties and creepypasta image jumpscare. that's just not very creative.
EDIT: yeah, after seeing that creepypasta image screamer, i like it even less. It isn't _scary._ It's just _startling._ it's just shock, not actual substance. the dev completely wasted the opportunity to use those images in an effective manner.
have to say the retro aesthetic is amazing though. I REALLY love the way stuff moves, like an old point and click adventure. I adore that. also really love the music.

Insym, if you just LISTENED to chat you would have realized that the shadow anomaly was a thing. There was nothing for that big shadow to come from. It was not normal. You don’t have to get everything first try, man. If it doesn’t work, too bad. You can try again, it’s not the end of the world if you lose some money and die. It was just funny watching you being so confident and smug only to die anyway and get proven wrong.

Insym you essentially proved how the shadow WAS and anomaly when you were smack talking about how light casts a shadow. When you piinted out that the light had to come from the wall- *where the light wasn’t coming from* - which is what made that shadow anomalous. lol. Confidently incorrect as ever!
He assumed there would be a light source out the cams field of view. His logic wasn't flawed considering the window wasn't in the cams field of view either. He was too confident but its not that much nonsense, just another perspective that made the shadow seem normal. (He was rude about it tho)
