Genuinely so good. It's been a long time since I've played a horror game with so much attention to detail. The graphics are phenomenal, the voice acting is just insane, and all the environments feel truly realisticly lived in. ENJOY!
HI Insym. You need to play CRYOSTASIS. It is a rather old horror game about abandoned Huge Icebreaker
Truly is refreshing to play such a gem nowadays.
Kind of reminds me of resident evil mixed with new ones
@jov001
WHAT?!
I mean, technically, they said coont.
Love the fact they kept the slang.
And I think you're forgetting, Insym, the start of the game several characters are talking about how dangerous the place is and Trots is going on about safety concerns and basically striking. The rig was structured badly, intentionally, to save money meaning it had major flaws going on in it.
Like heck, you don't even have to stick in a tentacle plant zombie sea ice monster in this scenario; with just the shortcuts made to the rig, it's already a deadly horror story well before they hit Cthulhu's cousin.
Why am i reading the comments now in that game dialect....
And yet they replaced the slang with "proper English" in the subtitles. Was very distracting.
@@davidmcgill1000i actually find it hilarious and funny cuz it makes you realize how different the dialect is
@@davidmcgill1000 It depends on which English you choose. There's the US(?) English and UK English. UK English keeps the slang
@@Muffll. LMAO SAAAME 😂
I am so fucking impressed how Caz can recognize all of his colleagues in low light conditions while they are all mutated like hell. And here I am struggling to remember the names of colleagues I've been working with for a few years now XD
For the most part he recognized their voices I’m pretty sure not necessarily their faces
No feel ashamed, I often forget the name of most of my coworkers lol
As a Scottish person, it was really awesome to hear genuine Scottish accents in game and not caricatured over done ones you usually get. I also really loved that they kept the Scottish slang and some of the key dialect for that area (like wains for the kids, which is literally a short version of "wee ones") as well as nailing Scottish humour too! 😂 and it did tickle me that as well as keeping the slang, they translated it in the subtitles!
This was a pleasure to watch!!
I watched two Scottish channels AyeforScotland and JustKaaling play this game and they said the same thing. :)
Games need to do more of this! Celebrate culture. It makes a more believable and enjoyable game too, gives it flavor.
Also Scottish, but find it to be utter cringe. Check Limmy's playthrough for a Scotsman also feeling the cringe.
@@KarbonLifeForms which is funny because I find Limmy's comedy cringe 😅 but we like what we like and I get that lowkey being grump about everything is just his character, so of course he'd find the cringe. Plus he's from Glasgow.. 😂
I was just thinking that as a fellow Scot. The voice acting and scripting is phenomenal, everyone in it feels realistic and I'm loving the mix of East coast, West coast and North accents and slang as a result of getting actual Scottish voice actors!
The yellow paint led me to this video
I'm struggling to leave. There's no yellow paint leading out of this channel... please help

The "Sussy" notes was Finlay and Brodie communicating with each other leaving notes trying to make a plan now that they thought Caz was dead.
Oil Rigs tend to be in International Waters, i assume what happened is something back home, and Caz went to the Rig to escape the Police Jurisdiction and let things blow over.
pretty smart, I have not thought of this
The second meeting with Brodie and Finlay there were advising him how to get to Roy.
"Leave him" = "Leave McCleary alone and let him go get Roy." rather than "Leave Roy behind."
3:06:00 Remember, they were under time pressure because of the dumbass boss. Their plan was for Roy to get the insulin, and for Caz to get to the helipad ASAP before the bossman took off to keep the boss from flying away. Under time pressure, you don't make perfect decisions.
I know there was a large team assisting with this game, my goodness the customisation settings even with the breathing lol to the voice acting and everything. I generally hope this game gets some momentum, I would value this is a masterpiece and one of my top 5 games for 2024. Thank you Insym 🙏
I suspect Rennick was already infected when he got on the helicopter, hence his insistence to leave right away. Then it overtook him and the pilot panicked.
The monster that took over the rig was also called "the Rennick", so maybe he was it all along?
I dont get how the infection works, we literally come into contact with it multiple times
@@jessquiatchon2204 everytime you step in it pr go close it starts to slowly take over your screen. I think you'll die (or get infected) from that if it takes over the hole screen. The monsters also try to grab you like they did to Insym as well and that's what they've done to everyone elae.
@@jessquiatchon2204 different people seem to have different levels of resistance to it and we can see that the main character is already feeling the effects. This is why they come to the conclusion of killing everybody because if even one of them gets back to shore then it will infect everybody and this will continue happening.
A few of the voice actors in this game have a few roles on british tv shows, Roy the chef (Shaun Dooley) is a narrator in a fairly big medical documentary style show (Surgeons: At the end of life), and the voice actor of Bruce, Scooby and Alex (Noof Ousellam) has done 5 episodes of the starwars series Andor, aswell as a scottish crime drama (Rebus)
Spark is a slang term for electrician. "Bright sparks know sparks can kill" = "So good electricians know that sparking wires can cause a disaster."
Mate, bright spark is slang for someone smart, aka, your not much of a bright spark are you?
@@mellowcacao it’s both. It’s supposed to be double meaning.
@@ChronicRen bruh its not. Nobody online, or in person who I have met, has used it for an electrician. Just look it up mate, its a very common slang term in the uk.
@@mellowcacao oh my bad, I got it mixed up with “sparky” which is Australian slang for electrician. I could’ve sworn “spark” was also slang for electrician in Scotland though. Maybe it’s industry slang and not used by the general public?
@@ChronicRen "bright spark" would be someone intelligent and sparky or lekky would be slang used in the uk for an electrician. My uncle and grandfather were electricians in the uk and scotland and I have never heard the term used to describe em. I can see where the mixup would occur to be fair, they are similar sounding terms.

OSHA Violations: The Game
Damn
Feels so nice to hear actual voice acting, from real human beings.
I like that the places you can climb or interact with somehow are yellow. But unlike most games, it makes sense in this context as a caution/visibility color. Sharp edges and tarps and such. Really top notch.
The way they translate the slang in the subtitles is amazing lol.

"I LOVED THIS BIG MAN! DO YOU HEAR ME?"
I was already crying but this made me ugly cry
I laugh all the time Insym yells "EXCUSE ME??"
None of the oil workers were bad guys except Rennick. He was told there was something odd while they were drilling and he ordered them to push through it. Everyone else was innocent.
Wow, I haven't seen a big horror game do body horror this well in so long. This was like a combination of Dead Space, Alien Isolation, The Thing, all put into one amazing experience. I've been looking for a game to actually do body horror in a good way, and this game is it.
*A bit of spoilers for the monsters*
The monster designs are so grotesque and uncomfortable. The jagged and quick movements combined with the excessive tentacles sticking out, grabbing onto everything is so gross yet so great. I kinda of wish there were more types of monsters besides the main ones we saw. Though, I do love how the monsters are introduced slowly. I was a bit worried that the monsters were gonna be just some typical humanoid people, but no, the animators and monster artists put in WORK. Sure there are some small issues with the plot and gameplay, but definitely 10/10 as a horror concept.
And just like that, the Beira D sinks to the depths, erasing all that took place on its surface
No one will know the horrors that could have happened, had it not been for the efforts of an odd sort of a crew
and the sacrifice of a father...
I'll forever love your intros. Quick, upbeat, to the point, & you actually get me excited for the game with the LETS GO!
"I'd like to sue my boss, he unleashed an eldrich god even though we had a bad feeling about it and told him that." which osha violation do you think that falls under?
such a beautiful ending I absolutely loved this story. All the selfless characters all the dead characters even Rennik was well portrayed as an annoying boss. What a beautiful creation.
3:06:11 hey diabetic here! I think that roy most likely died from LOW blood sugar, not high like the game is making it out to be. High blood sugar doesnt kill you within hours, Its commonly swapped in movies and games I’ve noticed. Funny enough he needed to eat to survive.
The only way he would likely die from low blood sugar is if he took his insulin AND didn't eat. We know from the story that he didn't have access to his insulin (AND had plenty of access to food).
It's pretty unrealistic for him to have died from ANY diabetic complications that fast, but if we were to pretend and give a most likely cause, then it's far more likely to be ketoacidosis than hypoglycemia.
What other game has there been a diabetic that you can mention?
Hmm...the plot still works with High blood sugar if he's a bad diabetic that only takes his insulin when he feels bad. Meaning he wasn't really taking good care of himself in the first place. It really could have been days since he took a last shot and went unconscious from the high blood sugar. Then we saw his cabin and all those cookies in his room. REally? 😅
edit: I suppose it was Christmas. Diabetics tend to loosen up during the holidays right?
@@michealwilliams472yea, let’s say he normally doesn’t manage his blood sugar very well, and by the time he was already in DKA or on the verge of it all this started happening, and he couldn’t get to the insulin. It would make sense with his air hunger, which is seen with DKA, not hypoglycemia. He would have been in DKA for a very long time, this game started out “daytime” and he died at night. My dad had poorly managed diabetes, he would take his normal dose of insulin and not eat, then he’d have seizures and lose consciousness, it’s not this long drawn out thing with shortness of breath for hours the way this was supposed to portray
Nurse me says DKA fits but maybe the writer knew a lot about T1/T2 management… or he just took a wild stab at some diabetes myths 🤷♀️
Hey, type 1 diabetic here too!! 👋. Having been in DKA before, I know what this poor man is experiencing. But as mentioned, it doesn’t act within a few hours. My ketoacidosis lasted months before it got extremely serious and in 3 days it got from mild to BAD. I was in ICU and was on the brink of death.
As someone with severe thalassophobia:
Im 30 seconds in and its already terrifying 😂
Thalassophobia? My bloody fear of heights wants me to puke every second hes on deck
This is legit terrifying even to watch
Fr tho. I’m on the edge of my seat in horror as I’m watching this
@@Rocket__RL How? He talks through all the scary parts. You wouldn't even notice he was near death with the talk of ducks and shit.
This just made me realize how different people are in terms of fear/horror etc, this wasnt scary at all for me, was a pretty chill game, some funny parts and sad parts
Being scared of the ocean is mostly contributed by being scared of the unknown
This game is awesome! The voice acting, the script, the story, it’s all very well done! Thanks for the great content Insym!❤ Really enjoyed watching this on stream, and looking forward to watching it again! Much love as always ❤
Can confirm, as a type 1 diabetic, it would not take a couple hours to die from high blood sugar 😅 Depending on the severity, it would take a few days, though he'd be in a coma first.
Great game, but Roy dying was definitely a little forced
Genuine question, Would the stress/anxiety of like being in danger/deadly situations make it worse?
@@Pixel__Hearts stress can raise your blood sugar but it wouldn't make it that much faster, no
Also, he would only have complications if he actually ate something. If he hadn't eaten (which would be likely because he's a few hours into a literal horror scenario), then he would be perfectly fine.
The ONLY plausible explanation would be severe ketoacidosis, but that also wouldn't kill you that fast. The plot twist was that Roy was in a coma, so Caz didn't realize Roy wasn't dead.
@@michealwilliams472he sure as shit is after da boom😂🎉
@@michealwilliams472 honestly, Caz should have checked for a pulse, but even then, there was no way to escape, so leaving Roy in a coma was the best and most painless death, because I'm sure he couldn't feel it and that he was dreaming of something good
It was kinda dumb how they had Roy die. Diabetics don't die in a few hours from not having insulin. Some diabetics go YEARS undiagnosed and then they have a sore on their foot that never heals and they lose a toe or the whole foot.
You can have a medical emergency and go into a coma if your sugar is unbelievably high, but that's pretty rare. Normal blood sugar is like, 70-110 or so, and you have to be like 700+ to go into diabetic ketoacidosis, which is the emergency I mentioned.
Diabetics can have blood sugars of like 300+ after meals and they don't typically feel any different. All that does is slowly rot basically everything in your body. Like, over decades. And it doesn't just get higher and higher til they die. Even diabetics will have their sugars slowly come down.
Source: I'm a nurse and like half of all sick people are diabetic.
I stated elsewhere, this is also set in the 70s where it was less understood, used doses of natural insulin from cows/pigs, harder (impossible) to micromanage via regular testing and you can be in DKA and high blood sugars for a long time from too little insulin. Going a day without insulin being the thing that pushes you over the fence and can rapidly deteriorate.
When I was hospitalized with DKA as a "non diabetic", I was ill for about 2 weeks, reporting diabetic symptoms. My doctor took my bloods and said we'll get the results in a few days. I was still going to work, I was just unwell. That state of unwell but functioning to nearly fatal took about 2 days.
This feels like a setup for a SOMA like scenario.
This was phenomenal. I felt like I was watching a movie. It’s been a long time since a horror movie impressed me this much, probably since Visage.
The atmosphere and genuine interactions are so good, nice to hear some familiar voices with the Scottish slang and voice acting, makes me miss home
first indika, now this - what is this niche of horror games with just the literal BEST voice acting?? what ?? that rules, HUGE shoutout to the VAs
re: the lifeboat launch failure: yeah, you'd be amazed in how many maritime disaster stories, people die because the lifeboats don't launch properly or aren't set up properly. it's extraordinary, it happens so often. That's entirely realistic for a deathtrap like a poorly maintained corner-cutting oil rig.
edit: hah yeah there's DEFINITELY some Control influence here
edit again: OHHHH IT'S THE CHINESE ROOM... YEAH NO WONDER IT'S GOOD
"Fuck." - Caz
What an Amazing Game, bro. That was super cool to watch. These Developers should have the rights to make or remake a lot of Games like this, the oil rig was very well done and like you I wished they had Collectables to find. This is one of my favs to watch right now; I need them to put in a some more jump scares with the amazing Monsters! This game would be perfect.
Indie horror games are often fun, but to have a good, high production quality game like this is truly fantastic, Great to watch!
😢the ending.
They can't even see their beloved family 😢
He died😢
I love how it went from:
Insym: "I love how everyone feels like they're doing something and not just standing around waiting to give you the quests."
to
Insym: "Why do I have to do everything??" and "This guy has done nothing, he's just making me do everything." 🤣🤣
i absolutely fucking LOVED this game. one of my favorite games you've played through in a long time. the devs did phenomenal on it, and i will admit that i teared up towards the end and during certain deaths. so SO good!!!
18:20. Given that they seem to be in the midst of a storm, the storm surge will be breaking up some of the water tension. So it's really a question of how the body lands into the water. If it's head-impact first, survival probability is probably less than 5% (most likely injuries: skull fracture, severe concussion, broken neck). If it's back or stomach first, survival probability is probably in the neighborhood of 50-55% or so (most likely injuries: spinal damage if back-first, ruptured organs if stomach-first, broken ribs, phrenospasm causing the immediate inhalation of salt-water). If the person lands it properly (assuming they have no cliff-diving experience) feet-first, survival probability is probably in the 85-90% range (most likely injuries bone breaks and fractures in the feet and legs). The biggest thing is though that that's just your odds of surviving the initial impact. Odds are at that point you're going to have injuries impairing your ability to swim (if you're even still conscious). You need someone to be able to dive in and rescue you immediately. If you have to swim back to the boat yourself, and grab something to be dragged back up, your survival probability goes way down.
Describe the game with a meme: "Really? Right in front of my Osha handbook?"
Every time insym says “feels bad, man😔” I always hear “feels batman😏”
1:31:39 There's actually pretty clever uses of sound to put out fire. The idea of a fan on a flame is generally bad, as the fan blades continously feed the flames oxygen.
Using specific sound waves, however, causes vibrations that displace oxygen without introducing new O2 to the flame, starving the fire. Not as practical as most fire extinguishing methods, but cool nonetheless.
I like how the subtitles are in English so we can understand what the Scotsmen are saying in their native tongue.
This reminds me a LOT of the SCP "Expunged Data Released", number 835. Fantastic story. It's a big fleshy mass under the ocean that grows by absorbing people.
Oh man that dialogue and voice acting is fantastic. It's kind of jarring to have so many funny lines & deliveries in what's otherwise a pretty grim setting (1:24:56 and 2:25:22 literally made me cackle like an idiot) but it's all done so well that I honestly don't care about the clash of tone
Some people dont like the "its just a dream" type stuff, but i can appreciate them for "I feel relieved it wasnt true and i can appreciate life more"
Its like giving a moment of reflection.
Of course sometimes that vibe isnt there, but thats just my perception
This is a masterpiece. I'm so incredibly immersed. This game is so effing amazing. I'm watching it twice. The sounds, voice acting, the look of the game. These devs got this game on point. Perfect.
1:37:25 The jump is about 5-6 meters, with landing made of metal. For an average grown man, even 2 meter jump will at least hurt like hell. That said, climbing a burning helicopter suspended above the sea isn't any safer to be fair.
indeed however if he would have hanged from the railings when he jumped it would be 2 meters less
Hot chicken nuggets AND an Insym video fresh off the press? This bouta be the best video I've ever watched.

Sounds like a good time. :o
Furry and tendies. A "classic" combo
I watched the stream of this earlier. This game felt like a movie! So emotional and funny and the tension! 10/10 recommend at least watching this vid lol
with how much oil rigs are terrifying irl
i was wondering how come we never got an oil rig horror game
Caz sure had a lot of work to do around the whole oil rig for someone who was very much fired
This game was REALLY GOOD! I really enjoyed watching this whole game! It was like a movie masterpiece!
OMG!! I was SO looking forward for you to play this game , thank you Insym!
The cook around 8:25 sounds like the black knight in the ashes of ariandel dlc in Dark Souls 3 that protects Frida or Yura from Elden Ring
Watched this live last night, this is truly one of the best games in general that I’ve seen for a long time, as you say, the visuals, voice acting, story and everything is just mindblowing and truly awesome!
oil rigs have big tanks at the bottom of their legs that can be flooded or emptied depending on sea conditions. That how they stabilize them, but they're always somewhat full, else the rig would move with the waves so much, the drill would just break off
Edit: It is so frustrating that Caz didn't even give Roy the insulin still, he was probably in diabetic shock or coma, but it honestly wasn't that long, it may have brought him back
Should definitely add "Diabetic feels bad and needs insulin" to the bingo, even though that's the opposite of how low blood sugar actually works. The trope could be fixed so easily if they just replaced needing insulin with needing sugar...
Further context, Im a t1 diabetic, the only way Roy would be having physical distress from high-bloodsugar (and thus need insulin, not sugar) would be if his sugar had been excessively high for several days, like at least 3 days minimum, long before the drill event, possible I guess but that would be on him for poor management before hand.
I love how I joined at the last 30 mins when he was streaming and I saw the ending but watching this I get so convinced that there was a chance for them to escape
I also love how he’s played so much games like phasmo so he crouches whenever he hears a noise
I suspected early on that most, if not everyone, would be dying. Roy had the most dignified death compared to everyone else. Thanks for playing this, I was interested in the story but I'm scared of swimming in games 😅
For those wondering about the general background there on what's called a jack up rig used for more shallow wells. They travel "jacking" up and down hence the term depending on the sea level. And yes these offshore rigs can be MASSIVE. There's the oil, the natural gas, the water, and all the soil and sand they gotta deal with. Thats alot to process and separate etc plus the electrical, the computers and crew accommodations etc.
That drill pipe is transported in sectioned pieces (hence those massive counterweights you see) and each piece can weigh up to 43 lbs per foot with a whole line being 30 to 45 feet long. And those are strung together to be kms long even.
The flare is the massive flame out of the top of a stack you see in refineries and such. This is usually burning off excess gas to keep the pressure stabilized or its just unwanted and needed to burn off. 🔥
Thought that might help clarify stuff 😅
laughed so hard at the achievement at the end because I had this weird feeling you were not sprinting but honestly, you played it so beautifully and it was so enjoyable to experience (so the walking enhanced it!)
I'm glad this game is getting attention. It's pretty stellar.
I watched part of the stream and was sad I didn’t join for the beginning so here i am!! So excited to watch
Spent half this game wondering where Roper was, wasn't disappointed.
I wish they would have put an aftermath... like what happened news wise or what happened to Caz's family... It definitely left me wanting more story like to wrap everything up personally.
"They're setting up this for us to hide later" - picks up the obvious throwables and moves them away from the hiding spots.
I really like the critiques you give for games, they are honest and really add value if any devs are listening. It shows you really care about making the best games possible! Thanks for sharing another amazing experience with us!
Hi Insym and Twitch.
Thank you for inviting us along for the ride!
Saving this Video for later, first have a spoiler free playthrough myself :)
Major SOMA vibes with this and I'm all for it
1:35:38 as ridiculous as it is to call a 30ft drop “tiny”, jumping onto the dangling, flaming helicopter to get just a little bit lower was definitely not the logical approach 😂
when you lost the cup, you stopped being robocup
god damn, I watched til the end, it was sad, but good god, the graphics and scenes and the gameplay were so fucking amazing!! the story is pretty good, though I wish there were more lore such as, what did the drill hit? What are the monsters? Is it alien? What happened to the rig itself? When it exploded, did nearby ships hear and headed to the wreck site? How big was the oil rig? How much crew was there?
I’m so happy I caught this live! It was an absolute journey!
I think a lot of fuse boxes do keep spares in the box in real life.
I watched another youtuber play this first unfortunately but I'm still having fun watching you play it 😂 your commentary is so fun!
As a diabetic, please do NOT inject me with insulin if you find me passed out somewhere. Chances are that you’ll kill me if I am passed out because of low blood sugar. Caz should have followed his original idea and shoved some jam in Roy’s mouth.
I'm also diabetic, and I could NOT follow that plot. You don't die that fast from high blood sugar, so this makes more sense for low blood sugar, but Roy was insistent on getting his insulin, which he wouldn't need for a low blood sugar emergency. I can't make sense of it.
Love your energy and videos mate, you're a gem!
What a beautiful story of a man who didn't see much value in himself and was getting into trouble. His coworkers during the story told him how valuable he was and Caz was able to show that he wasn't just a fuck up. He was a good man with a good heart. He showed that time and time again.. and even in the end he made the ultimate sacrifice to save not only his family but untold numbers of random people. Loved the ending.
This game reminds me a lot of control with the aesthetics of the infection and how it introduces each area
This is the best voice acting i have heard in all my time playing games or whating dub stuff jesus that was amazing!?!?!?
This sounds like good voice direction. Clearly the director knew exactly what they wanted from their actors and did everything they could to get that from them.
I think the notes between the two were them setting up the rig to explode. Honestly, or it was them leaving notes to each other to push through and get what needs to be done to move forward, kind of like what Caz had to keep doing.
This was awesome insym! Very nice game and it's a good catch. I like that you can't really fight the "thing"
Story is well with some pressing, atmosphere was insanely good and I will may play this.
Now that I beat the game I can watch Insym play it! This game had amazing voice acting, visuals and music. I love that we don't really learn what the thing is that the drill hit, and of course the monsters everyone becomes look amazingly creepy. I hope this inspires some more lovecraftian horror games going forward
This was such a good game, omg!
Thank you for playing and showing this to us.
Off-topic, but it's really satisfying to me how your shirt fits in with the water on the thumbnail!
in lovecraftian horror everyone has to die, it's just a matter of how tragically. Thank you for playin it!!
This was amazing, it takes a lot for me to sit for four hours to watch a video but I loved all of it
That was a hell of a game, can't wait for their next. :D
this game has such a good setting, voice acting, tone, *and* it delves into cosmic horror (i know its not necessarily cosmic but it fits the theme) which has added it to my favorites list immediately, but the largest surprise is that it gave me the genuine chills. the voice acting being good added to it, you cant take horror seriously if the humanity of the characters feels off, imo.... the way the enemies mumble and shit? freaked me out.
The note from Finlay was her saying that Brodie had one more chance to figure out a way for them all to get off the rig or she was just gonna blow up the thing.
Also idk why people get it in their head that you're the only one doing anything, I think they're just used to horror games where everyone else is useless. The other characters are doing stuff during the whole game it's just a lot of the stuff they do happens off screen and if Caz has to do something with the other characters he's either in a better position and they talk him through it or the other character has to man the equipment because Caz wouldn't know how (it's established early on that Caz has never worked on an Oil rig before and has no idea how to do much more than keep the electricity running)
As for Roy, it's just how the game played out, when you go to the helicopter to stop Rennick from leaving without both of you he says he's going to go get his insulin. He made his way over to the cabins but got stuck on the roof presumably because he can't fit through the tight gaps and was struggling to make those jumps.
the moment roy was left for so long without his insulin i was like 'oh, god no' because that stuff really is just...actually such a threat to people
what a step up for this developer
The whole "Yellow" bit, it didn't make much sense around the vents, but in oil rigs a lot of the "exit" or emergency exits are yellow, ladders are yellow, etc. It's one of the easiest things to see at night, while Red normally means bad - yellow catches the eye on GTFO or caution, depending.
