- So this is the lightweight 3D mirror rig from P+S Technik called the "Freestyle 3D Rig" developed by Philippe Bordelais. Its great for Steadicam! It turned up on a Satchler Artemis sled which worked well. I promptly placed it on my MK-V sled which coincidentally was pretty much balanced immediately, once tweaked it flew great. Later on it was tried on a Steadicam Ultra 2 and was fine. Its very easy to get into static balance.
Its great to fly. The interocular and convergence can be changed on the fly using a C-Motion. Pretty much most popular cameras can be used in there with most lenses and lens control systems. Certainly the SI-2K is perfect because it is so lightweight. I want to put two RED cameras in there as soon as possible. In this video we had two EX3's. Its a strong solid robust system.
When you change to interocular, the two cameras move thus negating any changes in balance. With the EX3's I did not notice any changes in balance when changing the convergence.
I will know as soon as someone in the UK purchases one of these so feel free to contact me to find out.

Great Tomas.
this looks so ultra professional... ^^
love it
useful info. thanks for the vid.
That looks like a Vegas convention center with 60 Hz sodium vapor lights recorded with a 50 Hz camera.
they are dancing..the man with the camera..
@coolmanak Yes, you can get it into Dynamic Balance but it is tricky. As you can see here it is not in Dynamic balance. In 3D we don't whip pan or do anything particularly quickly so you can get away without DB but.... its always better in DB
Hah, at first I thought you were in some empty warehouse to test, then i saw Steve from Cmotion then realised you were in a disused loading bay at earls court hah
Incredible. Love the rig... though hurts my back just watching it. What's the operating TBC? (Time Before Chiropractor) But seriously, what's the total setup weight? Rig cost? Rental? We gotsta know!
brilliant walk it looks like his legs are a robot
@bdaveshaw
50 lbs. but the Steadicam system allows for long hours of work, with not harm at all

I don't get it. Istill can't see the axis holding the seemingly floating camera.
Can anybody help please?

@bdaveshaw did u ever get a price and weight spec?
@bdaveshaw The price of the total system.... is a lot.
@coolmanak I have never gotten it to dynamic.....it's too front heavy..
are those 2 ex 1 r `s ? sweet rig ...
question there: you panned your monitor around in the video, but it didnt seem to have effect on the balance of the rig, for me , if i go up side down and readjust the monitor , the rig "moves" , and seems out of balance. any solutions. would be a blast .... thanks alot for the time to help !
can you get these at sams club?
wow... just don't fall ok ;)
FK ME!!!! THATS AWESOME!!!!
TBC that's too funny...all though I would rather pop advil instead of getting another "hurt" from a manipulator with a "Phd"...
your vest seems ill-fitting, anyways i prefer front-mounted vests
