- Philippe Bordelais builds up the 3D Freestyle rig he invented for Steadicam, and uses a Transvideo 3DView monitor to align the 2 cameras. The Freestyle rig was developed from prototype to finished product in collaboration with P+S Technik.

This had to be the most epic setting up of a rig that I have ever seen. i want more videos like this. I also wouldn't mind the gear.....

That thing is a monster!
so you can adjust the stereo separation from shot to shot, and use high-end cameras. This is a normal rig for professional stereoscopic 3D - it's only the cheap camcorders that have a fixed lens.

No, the bottom camera that faces upwards shoots into a mirror. It's a lot more effective because you can get the lenses a lot closer to each other, simulating the distance between a person's eyes. An example of another rig used like this is the rig they shot The Hobbit on, using two RED Epics and a 3ality Technica Rig.

that must be pretty heavy. how much kg is that on your shoulder?
+psFREAK Hard to say, some small stuff can be really heavy (eg : battery, lens). The weight isn't on the shoulder but on the hip (well, almost all, some weight on shoulder too). I'd say 30kg, like carrying a kid on your back. The steadicam itself can be really heavy (eg : the arm)
