See this is what I want to see. I live on the east coast of FL and all these videos of people catching tiny 1/2 lb bass out of ponds aren't really showing me if the rod can handle a fish of any decent size lol. These grit sticks seem to be of good quality. Talking myself out of paying $100+ for brand new Penn combos. Definitely going to use Penn reels, but I need a handful of good cheaper rods.
Awesome, I'm happy you got some value out of the video! I think you've got the right idea in mind. The reel was decent, but the rod was where this combo really shines. I've found that it's pretty tough to find a good quality reel for under around $40, but there are some really great rods out there in the $15-25 range if you look around. Hope you end up with a setup that works great for you!
Thanks man, glad you liked it! I've seen plenty of good reds swimming around in the 18-20 inch range, & I'd definitely rather just hold off for one of those. & Np man, thanks for watching!
Oh, nice man! What were you after up there, stripers or something? I've been extremely impressed with them so far. Been catching some awesome fish, especially on the injured mullet color. I'll probably make a video focusing on them pretty soon actually cause they've been one of my favorite baits the last couple weeks
Thanks man! Things are pretty good down here. Hope everything's been good with you too. Yeah, I got a nice little kayak to get off the banks out here & I've been loving it! Already have landed quite a few nice fish off it & hopefully more to come 🤙
Thanks man! Definitely was a tough place to land a nice fish. I was so relieved once I finally had it in the net lol. & Hell yeah man, I'm loving these Vudu Mullets. The bass seem to love them as much as the snook & reds do. If you can get you hands on one, they're worth every penny 👍
You'd definitely want a net, but I just landed a 31 inch redfish with it last week. Set your drag right & I think it would handle just about anything you throw at it 👍
Great job D nice red looks like fun must be rough having to fish so much
Thanks Pop! That red was awesome. I'd say one of my favorite catches yet. & It's a tough life, but somebody's got to do it 😂

I bought one while working in Rhode island, worked really good, ended up giving it away when I quit my over the road work

Nice redfish, that looked like an awful place to have to land it tho 😂 that lure is pretty cool too

Great video. I like all your budget reviews. I also have a channel up in NE Florida. Subbed!
Thank you man! Glad you like those vids. & Nice! I'll have to check it out when I get a chance 🤙
Can this rod work for pier fishing?
You'd definitely want a net, but I just landed a 31 inch redfish with it last week. Set your drag right & I think it would handle just about anything you throw at it 👍
You move from pueblo?
Yeah, I actually moved all the way down to Southwest Florida
ever try a baitcaster yet?
I've tried them, I just don't like them as much as spinning reels personally
@@AllmouthBassing for sure. yeah its better to use what you enjoy.
