    Good review. I agree with everything you said. I spent months researching all the options when looking for a device like it and although Whoop was tempting, the deciding factor was that you permanently have to pay the subscription even just to access your data. The annual cost is comparable to the cost of a device that does most of the things it offers, which is a one off cost and you permanently can access and add to your data. I chose the Garmin Venu 2 Plus and am happy with it. The app interface is good and it offers all I need. You're right that Whoop is meant for athletes especially endurance type or CrossFit. In terms of the wrist strap, they also offer a leg strap and a body accessory/clothing so you can wear the sensor anywhere which is a cool but expensive solution. For most people the apple watch, Fitbit or Garmin are excellent solutions. But if you're someone who needs to analyse whether masturbating the night before a race has affected your performance, then Whoop has got your back for sure 😊

      Haha the last part made me laugh but I’ll have to look into the garmin in my dad has one he likes too. Ankle strap like criminals on house arrest lmao

    Great review! I've used Whoop for over a year and agree with most of your points. Whoop has acknowledged that because it's measuring cardiovascular load, the scores for weightlifting may not reflect your actual perceived muscular strain. But theoretically, as your body repairs your muscles, you can still see the impact of training in your HRV/recovery score. There is a new "strength trainer" mode that's supposed to be more accurate for muscular strain, but I found it to be too much setup when I'd rather just focus on lifting weights, and not worth the effort just to get a higher strain score. (To your point, I'm not sure what I should do with that information.)
    There are a few things that Whoop has been useful for. After a few months, I could see patterns emerging that I might not notice otherwise. Eating late dinners, nasal decongestants, and alcohol were all impacting my sleep. I wasn't aware of how often I woke up at night with those behaviors. I'm sure there are more things to explore in the data if I have the time and motivation, though to your point I'm not sure it's necessary.
    I see a lot of college athletes wear these now, and I think if your main job is to be an athlete, it might be more useful.

      Definitely is an amazing fitness tracker probably one of the best but also depends heavily on the person, their goals, training style, etc. just not for me right now 👍🏼

    Great review! I was interested in the but somehow missed it doesn’t track distance/steps. Also a big thing I track….so probably just stick with the garmin until something else comes out. Keep up the great content!

    Hey! Great video!
    A way to solve the problem of the straps you could buy a bicep bracelet for the whoop so you could use the whoop on your bicep so it doesn’t get in the way.
    Btw, you just got a new sub!

    • @_jackperez_
      @_jackperez_  7 месяцев назад +1

    seems weird it wouldn't track steps as this seems like such a basic thing and for the price you pay for the device plus subscription seems silly. Can't recall, but don't believe my fitbit required the extra cost of a subscription
