OnTrack Karting Wallingford, CT 8-7-19 League Race 'A' Main ***SMOOTH AS POSSIBLE***

So tonight was fun, it definitely had a better outcome than it did last week to the point of....at least I finished on the lead lap lol. As for the kart I picked, it was once again not up to the task at hand, but did bring me home on the lead lap if I didn't mention that already LOL! The qualifiers were pretty straight forward where I qualified 2nd in the second qualifier with a 38.412, and in the position race I was also able to finish 2nd with a 37.999 which was good enough to place me 4th for the feature race and as I said earlier picking the kart that would catapult me to the front of the races keeps eluding me something fierce. It's frustrating to qualify good and then to have it all undone by a less than suitable kart. So my fastest lap for the race 38.391 and that was never duplicated throughout the race, the times after that got no better as the kart felt as if it was binding up just going down the straights. There was also a joker lap tonight where I was only able to manage a 30.222 which is not great. When you can't compete for a top spot all you can do is just enjoy the drive and as I wasn't pressured as bad from behind I was obviously not the only one with a hampered kart. I truely do miss the days when these karts averaged low 37s'! Anyways it was a fun night and a big field...29 people which makes qualifying interesting. Got car 20 for qualifier, was HORRIBLE. Didn't make A main this week. We'll see happens next week.

Yeah that Kart and a couple others are just getting of the pace. As it is now if these karts can't manage the 38.0 area, it's like your just driving around with a target on your back. They definitely need some work. Next week is a maybe for me as you know!

Another lacking kart for you in the final? That sucks. How will this facility deal with the drastic kart disparities with valuable points on the line?

Lone Wolf 1, I'll tell you if it wasn't for the fact that me and a few others at the top of the charts have to finish top 3 or better to get points I would probably be more annoyed lol, but because of that and I know we're just going to inch up in points at this time...most of these nights are just fun and if the win comes it comes. Winter time things may open up for me, for some reason I feel like I do better in the cold lol!
