OnTrack Karting Wallingford, CT 2-21-19 League Race 'A' Main ***UNEXPECTED BIRTHDAY GIFT***

- So tonight was a special race night, it was a league night that was falling exactly on my birthday(Feb. 20th), but was postponed til tonight due to weather and although I was hoping for a win the way the night was going from the qualifiers it didn't look like a win was going to be in my future for the feature. So starting off in the 3 lap qualifier I was in the #18 kart and was only able to muster an 8th place starting position with a 37.857 for the 17 lap position race for the feature. Now we stay in the karts we qualify in for this race and as this race goes on I fell back another two places, I was able to go faster in the kart by 3 tenths running a fast lap of 37.558 which is decent but in comparison to other karts, this kart needs a little more work. So now I'm starting 10th in the feature out of 13 and picked the #6 kart which I wasn't sure about but was being told it was good....so fingers crossed! At the start of the race it was questionable but once finally clearing some new drivers that are still learning the track I realized how good the kart was and I was off chasing down the leaders. Once I caught up, I further realized how much faster I was compared to them and then the infamous leader pile up happened that actually gave me the edge and I'll just say WATCH THE VIDEO!! My fastest lap of the race and of all competitors this night was 36.792 and great race CARSTEN who was in the #18! So with that said Enjoy and Thanks for watching!!

Watched the whole race. Great pass to take the lead. I wouldn't haven't given so much room after your first attempt at a pass through those hairpins though lol. Good job.
What's up Kern and thanks for the comment. So with that pass I actually through myself off with my braking point lol! As you can see in the video I went in a tad to hot and locked up, but I was also aware that he had already initiated his turn and was trying not to clobber him or run him to the wall. The space I leave at times after I pass someone right before a turn if I'm on the outside so that I don't get potentially spun by them trying to come back at me....either they have to hit the brakes lol to make the tighter turn while I'm able to keep up speed. I definitely appreciate the comment and the complement. I hope enjoy the vids and I have other things planned for the channel. Thanks again and enjoy the videos!!👍😁

In comparison to Monza I would agree, but racing with the right that know what there doing any pass at even the easiest track could be difficult lol!@ManzellaBob

Yeah after looking at the video I can see I messed up my braking even though I was expecting him to jump back to the left, I just wasn't as smooth as i needed to be lol! I've come across some of your videos recently and your doing good, you just have clean up your racing line a little bit and stay consistent. I'm always working on the consistency myself.
