Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Alka Yagnik, etc legends have played with these sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa sounds at young age now it's there voice and singing style for which people are crazy after them
They all kept practising everyday that's why there voice don't change with time and the sweetness too remains the same.
Too much practice doesn't improve singing.you end up with nodes on vocal chords

Actually, this song is from 80s, 90s and is a romantic song that literally means, "you have already stolen my heart, don't refuse to look at me, you have changed my life for good, but don't change yourself ever" so putting indian ornamentations/embellisments will take away that silliness, from the song ! There are many instances when song is sung simply like this with minimal usage of Indian classical techniques. But that doesn't mean it is not based on raga. Raga is not technique or a way of singing(for ppl from other counties they think raga means indian way of singing), Raga is a set of notes(in ascending and descending order), every raga has a "chalan" small piece of music which is the soul/character of that raga. Every raga has a "prakriti", temperament, it may be serious, happy, delightful, sad, angry etc. So this song might have been taken from a raga whose prakriti is restlessness or "chanchal" , so the female lover is restless and is complaining to her love.

Film music is actually a kitsch kind of music drawing from many genres, Indian, Eastern ( to us) & Western kinds of Music. So you can come across a very classical based song as well as a total medley kind of songs in its fold, depending on how the filnm's story, filmmakers, songwriters demand/ desire/ intend!

This is the beauty that is lost in today's music. There was a whole orchestra background and every musician had something very unique and it all was so covering the theatre but the singer had to be the one who cuts through all that music and shine and make everything sound so good, this is all a one take and no post production, so this is as perfectionist as it gets on a grand scale from musicians to everyone on the stage

Burman) was the music composer of this legendary song.! They both have done numerous songs together. He passed away in 1994. Dear Vocal coach, you are absolutely right that she sings most of the pop style songs in Indian cinema (60s to 90s). Her elder sister Lata was morr accomplished in classical Indian so she got most of those songs. Asha was left to make her own genre which were more seductive or cabaret style. She also claims to have listen to Elvis and other foreign singers from world over and follow their nuances. You should also focus on the music director of her songs which was mostly Rahul Dev Burman. He was ingenious with his creativity of mixing Indian ragas with more international music such as Arabic, latin etc.

Hehehe regarding Asha Bhosle , the childish voice might be a little due to her age, cause otherwise in her time she sounded even more high soprano. Also she is younger sister of Lata Mangeskar who is also a legendary singer of India and is considered among greatest singers in Indian music of all times and is nicknamed as nightingale of india.
Also probably the nasality thing is because of language and also in India, the singing is done with your full pure voice.

Also, in modern songs Indian music use western cord progression only but the singing is done in Indian style or songs has technique used in classical music. Like here too the song was romantic and from movie genre but there were use of "kan swaras". You can react to this teaching video as this vocal coach explains it very easily what this technique is and it's very common in Indian songs which makes it sound uniquely Indian and different from western style. It's just like the video you reacted one with what is raag.
