- On 18th June 1992 - Paul McCartney's 50th birthday - The Beatnix performed I Saw Her Standing There live-to-air on The Ray Martin Midday Show. The musicians performing as The Beatnix on this track were Bruce Coble (myself, as "John"), the late great Steven Shipley (as "Paul"), David Wood (as "George") & John Taylor (as "Ringo").
We were pretty road-tested at this point - this line-up had been together for about 2 years. This would however be the last appearance with the group of David Wood for a few years, who left the group in mid-92 to do other things shortly after this video was recorded.
This is a great example of the effortless bass & vocals of Steven Shipley, & the brilliant early-"George" guitar of David Wood. I think I had finally become more comfortable in the role of John, though this was obviously around the time that I discovered the joys of imitating The Beatles' penchant for singing with chewing gum on national TV. I also recall enjoying replicating the southern twang that the Beatles put in some of their early vocals, this one included. Видеоклипы
The best right handed Paul McCartney I’ve ever seen or heard!!😂👌🎼.x
He did make it look effortless 👍
I agree
Now I'm not capping, but have u seen tomy kishman? He is a great right handed paul, but great opinion I agree 👍🏿
@@thefatlump6996
A great player but the joke was he’s right handed which personally speaking kind of spoils the illusion. I went to see a Beatles tribute band in Ireland once where McCartney had peroxide hair, Lennon looked like Dustin Hoffman, George was over weight and Ringo was the best looking. Sounded great but aesthetically it was “just wrong”!!😂. I will check out that guy you mentioned🎼🥊.x
I Agree
That’s a challenging bass part to play without bumming a note let alone sing on top of. Talent 👍
Isn't it just...
@@BruceCoble Hi Bruce, out of curiosity did you guys ever get to play over in Liverpool UK, The Cavern Club, The Casbah Club or The Grapes pub etc? Did you ever get to meet any of the Beatles or anyone associated? Did you ever hear any feedback from the members themselves?
It’s got to be the best Beatles cover I’ve heard. I’ve never heard of the Bearnix but I’ve seen other Beatles cover bands these guys the beatnix did a great job 👏
It’s not difficult lol
@@Boonses hmmm looked on your channel and nothing to back it up. So...put up or shut up. Or better yet....
I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS AT ALL! Wow, they are really really good!
Thank you...👍
great performance! really stays true to the energy of the beatles early performances
Thanks Jude! I liked that one too 👍
Superb! The vocals hit a few high notes and these guys (Paul/John) do them really well. The bass line by Paul is just exactly like the real Beatles. The lead guitar solo riff by George is also amazing. Great effort, 9/10 stars.
Thank you...and it is live to air TV - not a pre-record...always a bit scary...
Harmonies down and perfect licks, very impressive.
Thank you Keen!
First thing i saw. Paul right handed 😳😳😳😀😀😀but performance was pretty cool
The swagger Bruce! Proper!
I learned to swagger and chew gum 😂
Absolutely spot on!
Thank you 👍
Yo Al, you're like everywhere.

Wow, thanks Bruce, it was just great watching this video it brought back so many great memories of the "BEATELS" and the late & great Steve Shiplee R.I.P. 🙏
You guys rock and I really love Marcus Phelan's guitar playing as well as David Wood's. Best Beatles band next to the Fab Four. 👍👍
Thanks Mike for the kind words :)
Great performance. Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear of the passing of one of your band mates ..
Very good

Я это тоже заметил.
素晴らしい!😄演奏も歌も👍😉ビートルズのテンポより少し早めだが小気味よい、とてもいい気分になった😄👍
Who in the HELL are these guys? Man they are fantastic. I am a fan. Awesome Beatle cover.
Good on yer mate; this is quite wonderful.
Thanks LR 👍
What a loss Steven was! So very sad. Not easy to play bass and sing but this guy made it look so easy.
Bruce have you any plans for any future gigs. Any at all likely here in the UK when covids all done with. Lol. Best wishes!

Excellent, I just miss the hand claps.
ヴォーカルもいいし演奏も上手い。ベースが左利きなら最高だったな
I believe Sit Paul said he could also play right-handed 😊
So you mean to say 29 years since this performance and I've never heard of these guys???
Right? Same here. How was yhat possible?
Let's blame youtube for recommended this late
Yes, 29 years...and oddly enough, 29 years before that the Beatles recorded their version! Whew! Time does fly. At the time I thought 50 was pretty old. Now I am 50😢
Sou do Brasil. Onde conseguir as tablaturas e cifras do Álbum: It's for you? Obrigado.
Sorry, it is not in print anymore, but someone has uploaded some tracks to RUclips...
Interesting to finally hear the words to that song.......minus the screaming.lol
Do you remember Blaxland Tavern? Think that's where I've seen The Beatnix. Are you still in the line up or has it changed over the years?
I do indeed...great venue...the entire lineup in this video left The Beatnix in early 1996 & formed our own group, The Beatels, which is still going...we did a fun gig tonight at Collaroy, in fact 😀
Jimmy Nichols on the drums 😁😁😁

Great song! Where's it from?
It’s by the Beatles
@@brendanarmstrong3064 Oh you mean those 4 English dudes who CHANGED THE WORLD, TURNING IT UPSIDE DOWN in 1964-----1966
@@joehinojosa24 yeah, the Beatles!
This was from a midday TV show filmed live in Sydney Australia in the 90's...
Only one little thing that you could take them for (if you want to be an asshole).
"Paul" should have been left-handed - and the illusion would have been complete.
Outstanding !
is the correct word.
Thank you Tom. Actually Steve, the "Paul" in this, was originally left-handed, but a guitar teacher early on encouraged him to relearn to be right-handed, saying "you'll thank me for this one day"...by the time we did this it was too late to change back, sadly...one of life's little ironies...
@@BruceCoble - What an amazing coincidence !
Has "Paul" considered to sue him ?
Anyway, so far "The Beatnix" must be the very best tribute band to The Beatles that I have come across
so far. Your cover band is so in tune with the original band. The energy and the feel is scaringly similar.
You did an extremely good job with the songs that The Beatles gave away and never did any proper recordings
of themselves : the "It's Four You" album.
I believe you recorded these songs in exactly the same mode as The Beatles would have.
This hard to come by LP should be available on Spotify.
Thankfull for that they are available on RUclips.
Wish I owned a vinyl or CD copy or two of that one.
A genuine gem !
Thank you@@tomrogerlilleby2890 !
@@BruceCoble That has happened to Mitch Weissman too. So sad how it's impossible for them to be authentic.
The whole thing was right on the money ----------- I thought the Lennon vocal harmony was the best i've heard since the real McCoy.
Thanks Bill 👍
Nadanya Kecepatan..kaya lg balapan
Kegembiraan siaran langsung televisi...hope that translates properly...
"George" looks like Mick Jagger and "Paul" looks like Luke Skywalker hahah "John" looks like Adrien Brody ....and "Ringo" looks like Mark David Chapman....
Body language of the "George" resemble that of the real "Paul".
Paul was left handed.I dont think Ths actually isnt the beatles
It's a tribute group...
@@BruceCobleI know 😂 i’m saying that’s the only difference i can tell between them and the real beatles
@@quvuqsgoodassvideos6511 I think they made more money 😂
Na bass player you need to play lefty
Que cara tan fea tiene el que la hace de Paul.
miserable!

It’s not that bad imo
Que pelados tan feos, nada que ver con los Beatles.
Me caen gordos estos seudoimitadores. Mejor compongan algo propio.
Malos imitadores. No les veo mérito.Mejor que compongan sus propias canciones.
