Yes! Much like the 'cost of living crisis'. I've been taking out insurance, effectively, over the years by putting money aside, not stretching myself where possible, and planning for the future. Liverpool hasn't been sanctioned for breaking FFP. In 2015, they were cleared by Uefa. After having lost £50 million, Uefa were satisfied that it was spent on infrastructure. Therefore, they were cleared. So I have no clue what Simon is on about here.
As for City, its doing them more harm than good, not on the pitch but in reputational damage, with other teams getting punished and them not. I appreciate that it's a far more complex case and requires more time as well. But this is mainly due to their obfuscation. With regards to them being found guilty or not, the premier league may have a lower threshold of evidence to prove someone is guilty, so i dont believe its a foregone conclusion that they'll get off. If the argument is that the money they have spent benefited the community and so that is okay, then other teams should be allowed to do the same.
