As an Australian I can tell you right now, we as a country were so proud of that man! not one Australian has ever given him nothing but praise, he was our hero too, and we loved him so much! that misleading information was false. Australia has always been behind Steve all the way. We love ya Mate. And miss you so much.

      "this very popular, wildlife warrior Australian bloke. And yet back here in my own country, some people find me a little bit embarrassing. They kind of cringe 'cause I'm coming out with 'Crikey' and 'Look at this beauty'." Is a quote from Steve Irwin. Whether you knew about it or not, there are Australians who looked down on him. Maybe after his death everyone seems to have forgotten about it, but it was there. And I'm not saying that someone who wasn't proud, or even critical of him, then can't be proud now. But you shouldn't pretend or erase that real people made him feel like that. That those feelings, about how some of the people of his country saw him, were real.

    • @knoxy_in_oz
      @knoxy_in_oz 5 лет назад +18

      This exactly. I am one of those people who was not a fan of him. I respected him and the work he did but his "over the top" antics were too much for me to get behind. I have never watched more than 1 or 2 episodes of his shows. But I have seen the interviews he was part of, the articles written about his work etc. Even saying all of this I still agree that we, as whole world, have lost one of the last bastions of animal conservation. Steve was right up there with David Attenborough in his work to bring the wild world to everyone.

      I'm english and of all the people in the world i think i saw the most of him from all his separate shows, there was hundreds and i loved him. But i never really saw him and thought wow all australians must be like that, even as a young kid. But to be fair neighbours was on a fair bit too and theyre not a great deal different to english people on that. What im trying to say is it's sad some australians may have felt misrepresented or whatever when i dont think that was ever the case. And what a legend to be represented by either way

I made my parents record every single episode on the VCR so when i couldnt watch an episode I would have it recorded so I could sit right in front of the tv and watch in amazement. Even as a child, Steve was a hero of mine. I was a teenager when he died, but ill be damned if i didnt cry like I had just lost my best friend.

    • @CaptainAMAZINGGG
      @CaptainAMAZINGGG 5 лет назад +1

      @Rar Ted When we are connected with the universe from within, consciously, there is no separation, and there is deep understanding of soul/consciousness, expressing as humans and also all other things in awareness as we are awareness itself... So, I experience the person Steve, still, as these various mediums exist for me to watch and reflect upon, on my now moment, and also, am guided by that energy from beyond the personality/human experience. Tbh various things in my life are being healed and progressed, because I am once again in connection with this all on every level, not just the personality perspective named Steve. So yea it would've been incredible to experience newly emerging Steve Irwin in his human form, now, however, on another level, there is more happening energetically and mass consciousness-ly, from an omni present state of being, holding space, being infinite instead of just a limited human personality etc and as we attune to that, it's a very real in this moment thing to be guided by, connect with, celebrate etc vs being in lack and Limitation consciousness and perceiving things are missing, or gone, wrong, etc. Which is what the limited ego does.
      To experience way beyond that and that which is in higher clarity, we much connect with and come from the heart, which is ever expansive and in a constant state of appreciation, love, bliss etc. One cannot be sad, while they are in their heartspace bkuz THEY are connected. We are only ever sad, depressed, angry etc negative in any way, when We are not in that moment in our open heartspace, coming from within, connected with our true self and true nature etc.

      Nah, PETA is just a group of people thinking they can be SJWs for animals and change things through being annoying and slacktivism. They don't want to be active, hands-on, and directly involved with conservation like Steve was. Their belief that "animals are people too" is also absolutely stupid. Treating animals like people will NOT work to keep them off the endangered species list. Animals need to be respected in ways that humans are not respected. Treating them like humans and leaving them to their business will basically be neglect when their population begins to drop rapidly.

      As an American I remember it vividly as well as I was in the 6th grade at the time. Steve was my childhood hero and he was the one that got me into my love of animals so much that I wanted to become a wildlife biologist. I saw his movie opening day at my local theater at one of the earliest showings they had haha. Unfortunately I wasn't cut out for that as chemistry and upper biology just aren't my forte and I struggle with those parts now. But my childhood dream that I'll never be able to fulfill was to travel to the Australian zoo and meet him, and it still saddens me about that. But I've vowed to myself that I at least will visit his zoo when I visit Australia in the future.

In the video about him holding bob as an infant really pissed me off, it wasn't that dangerous have you seen his reflexes? He did the same thing with Bindi at that age because its a few years later it became dangerous?
