- There's always a ton of pulp left over after using a juicer, and it seems like a shame to just throw it away. In this CHOW Tip, Suzy Brannon of CHOW.com shows you how to skip the compost bin and use that pulp to make vegetable broth, crackers, and dip instead.

The shortest and more helpful video ever about pulp! Thank you!
Gosh
Where have yur videos been all this time? Ive been looking at the wrong videos. 5star n thumbs up. I love the way u get to straighht to the point no time wasted, no extra talk, no baby talk, etc. Thanks so much for the video.
Made the veggie crisps tonight. Also made fruit leather/fruit roll ups from an apple/lemon/ginger mix. Yum!
Veggie crisps: Added garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt and rosemary. Then sprinkled sesame seeds on them. They taste really really good but were bordering burnt on the outer edges and soft on the inner part. I ended up taking out the done ones, repositioning the soft ones and baking longer. Stuck to the pan a lot. Next time will spray more and try parchment/wax paper.
Fruit leather: Added a little sugar in the raw along with the flour and water. Taste delicious. But totally different consistency than the chips. Came out chewy but good. Really is just like a fruit roll up consistency. Stuck terribly. Wasted half of it stuck to pan. Awesome ideas though! Thanks!
Great
I don't own a juicer, but that stuff looks like it would be good mixed with ground meat for fiber rich meatballs. I use shredded carrots in mine and they turn very soft and yummy.
Neropatti I don’t know if you’re still out there, Neropatty, but thanks for the idea, they taste lovely 👌👌
This comment needs to be permanently up at the top.
U need to go vegan!
@@Imayebrook No she doesn't, you're a moron...You vegans get so OCD about it, do your own thing and leave others alone...
I eat em everyday like that. Talk about getting too much fibre haha
Some fruits & vegetables are good for dogs so you could also use certain pulp to make dog treats!
Thats not a treat.
@@fireside9549 I mean it's probably no bad dogs eat shit they wouldn't mind.
You just have to be careful about the apple, pear, grape and other arsenic/cyanide containing seeds or root veggies grown in soil high in arsenic. Grapes are bad for dogs anyway
Great tips, thanks!
We use our fruit (wine) pulp for vinegar and mostly compost. Just to give back to mother earth some of what it gave us.
SO trying the broth idea! I make veggie soups all the time, so it'll save me some money (I hope).
RUclips is a small world

Great video brief simple and very useful! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you! Is it possible to substitute the flour for almond or coconut flour to make it vegan? And what’s a good substitute for cream cheese? Most of the nutrients are gone after juicing. Shouldn't get too carried away with pulp. Giving your body the work of trying to extract nutrients where there aren't many.
Lifted Gift why shouldn't you get too carried away with the pulp? I mean most of the nutrients is in the pulp, right?
isnt the fiber in the pulp?
Fiber keeps your bowels clean. Problem with processed food is they have more digestible matter and less waste. So you shit less often than your ancestors did a few centuries ago. Food waste stays in your body for longer causing all sorts of things from flatulence to cancer. It is important to consume enough indigestible matter so that your in-out process does not take days. You eat fiber because it is undigestible, not for nutrition.
pulp = fiber
beef/etc liver is likely to be actually full of toxicants, the same way that your liver processes them. it may be healthy for protein, but it may retain heavy metals and other chemicals
I usually use the pulp in muffins and stuff :D
amazing
I just eat it straight out of the juicer with a spoon.
Then why bother juicing?
Jason Why not?
I put my mouth directly on the pulp dispenser and eat it while its juicing. It's pretty hardcore.
A. S. VanHoose loool
A. S. VanHoose you sir a legend
YAY CHOW! Great vid!
Good vid.
I plan using it in smoothies
It was a long time ago, in college. I was hungry and desperate. Don't hate, bro!!! ;-D
OK I tried this and I did something wrong. I only had coconut flour did not like them but I’m not gonna give up. I will try again I’m new to juicing and using pop, but I definitely will try the making homemade veggie
broth.
oh god
I have a nice juicer I use and a centrifugal juicer or blender and I just still don’t quite understand why I should use that pulp that comes out of the juicer instead of just blending everything in the first place. I have heard it oxidizes it’s and messes with the enzymes to blend it. If the pulp is good for you then why take it out
We drink it. Since we have a blender instead of a juicer, the pulp is still mixed in, so we drink it altogether. My husband drinks half a gallon a day. Sometimes, it's too thick for me though, so I wind up straining some of it out; it's a texture thing. This video has a lot of good ideas of how to use that pulp that gets strained out.
what about dehydrated veggie meatless balls for zucchini noodles and sauce. Just wondering?
Recipe?

Edit
Great idea's. Just wondering how to turn pulp into veggie balls for a zucchini
I want to experiment with vegetable pulp so badly! I’m like ok… if fiber isn’t digested in the body and isn’t counted as a carb on keto, could I use it as a filler? Could I fry it like fritters? Could I use it in sauces? Casserole? Dry it and grind it like flour? Like so many things!!!!
It wouldn't work as a flour because of the pectin
Have you used the pulp in your garden?
I've seen so many people throw away pulp it drives me nuts....
So, what would you suggest? There's a limit to pussification, ya know.
You might want to try just pouring boiling water over the pulp, veggies, etc. no need to simmer or cook it. That is how i make my pulp. It's more like a veggie 'tea' made that way,
just steeping the pulp.....
hell no
oh you fancy
What about fruits pulp,?
What about adding it to a smoothie?
@@snatchinitback4635 you can use it for fiber to any smoothie that you make aside from making the juice
Sometimesi feed it to my dogs. They love carrots
amazing comment,
just really
This is what I see as well.
also vegie burgers
thumbs up yo
Bring back supertaster!
Make a consomme
You just have to be careful about the apple, pear, grape and other arsenic/cyanide containing seeds or root veggies grown in soil high in arsenic.
Doesn't the heat destroy all the nutrients?
Unlike falling into a stomach full of acid? 😅
puaj!
👍👍👍
Aws😍
wait, so you juice fruit removing fibres then adding fibres in water to make broth juice,
exotic tropical nutritional
no.
