I injured my left shoulder rotator cuff (I don't remember which muscle, now) whilst nursing in '96, for which they gave me weekly treatments for two months for free. I ended up retiring the following year as it was re-injured two more times and was never really getting better. I became hooked on Codeine for a couple of years. Watching this video, I think the repeat injuries have damaged other rotator cuff muscles because I was favouring the "weak" one. About 8 years ago, it was mildly injured when renovating - I WAS being careful and it surprised me how little it took to hurt it. My GP sent me for x-rays and told me the "rotator cuff had calcified, that it would always be easy to hurt, and that strengthening exercise would only aggravate it further". I have my own "hack" for protecting myself - any moderate to heavy lifting: I wear a loop of elastic around my waist with my left arm tucked into it. The elastic reminds me to keep my elbow close to my body, thereby protecting it. I also use this if I have re-injured it, as a sling is too restrictive.

Thank you! I had the worst night ever. With left arm pain, I got myself so worked up, I created other physiological responses. After watching this video, I was able to self assess that a 25 year ago rotator cuff injury has reared its ugly head, and I avoided a doctor visit. From experience, I’m sure the regular doctor would explore really expensive options and get nowhere. 🙏🏼

    test 1 - no
2 - yes, but inside the joint
3 - discomfort as if under the scapula
4 - no, but in this position without pressure it is between painful and uncomfortable
5 - no, but just being in this position is same as 3d test
    ...
12:15 I can reach the back of my head with my finders without the towel using my arm that's got the aching shoulder...
14:13 aaand... both of my shoulder joints crack several times (not painful, just loud) every time I do this. Also it's hard physically to do this even without the stretch band.
15:40 and after 5reps my neck started hurting near first vertebrae
16:00 pain intensifies when I pull on the affected side, but not in the shoulder - near 1st thoracic vertebrae
16:30 oh, now the shoulder hurts
Well, this warmed up the muscles and joints so it feels better now but... it's still there and I know it will be back. CT/MRT found nothing special there. No idea what that is, but thanks, I guess...
