I am a mopar guy through and through, but I diasagree whole heartedly. This is, without any doubt....the ugliest full size truck I have ever laid my eyes on.
Dave Belcarz Yeah it looks someone poked a stick into it's big square eyes. And the cut-off-corner edge theme is taken Tooooo far inside and out. Just like the hideous Oval-aurus from the mid 90's.
I bought a 2015 with the 5.0 V8...I love it...385 hp...rides like a dream...the price increase $8000. in five years for the same truck..the only downside is price.
AraJ sure its not as reliable as Hondas and Toyotas but its improving, when USA brings strict emission norms all other brands will hit the issues that Ford is tryin to bolt up now, turbos and hybrids r the future and Ford definitely has the upper hand with something called experience
Ford used less bolts and screws they said and used more adhesives to hold the truck together . That entails meaning that is how we lessened the weight.. haha no thanks.. I don't need my truck held together with more adhesives.
Hnnotyy even Mercedes S class has this kind of design and its flawless in built quality,so does the Range Rovers Aluminium construction, also Ford tested the Aluninium f150s in quarries as well where the conditions r extreme, if it can hold to that it ll easily hold up,even better than steel rivets.
I'm glad they still have a 5.0 under the hood of the new F150 Though it would be nice if Ford gave us a very small but boosted V8 like a 4.2 Liter or something Not to mention it would be awesome if that was in other Ford cars as well like say the explorer or expedition maybe even a sedan to compete with the Dodge Charger I think ecoboost tech coupled with a V8 would equal crazy power would equal crazy power and wouldn't guzzle that much gas I'm no engine fuel economy expert but I think there's a way to make a V8 more efficient But what do I know
Why doesn't Ford offer wheel well covers for the rear sides. Would the exposed paint get chip by rocks and quickly cause it to rust? I notice the new Rams and GM trucks have rear wheel well covers on their half-ton pick-ups.
It's possible that a car company can make such a vehicle but there would be a lot of cost-cutting involved and the quality wouldn't be there. And most importantly, probably no one would buy it - or at least take it seriously, especially truck people. Manufacturers are very skittish about building cars and trucks that they feel won't appeal to certain market segments. Even new ideas introduced at car shows, while good on paper, may not generate enough buzz for a manufacturer to consider producing them. However, I'm sure you could easily find V8 4x4's for under 20 grand in the used truck market.
mister62085 Not really possible but maybe for around 25 if you stripped the interior basically steering wheel, seats what more do you need, can see a stripper Ranger for about 18 when they come out but obviously no v8 probably wouldn't fit,but a reliable 3.5 duratec paired with 4 wheel drive there you go believe the 3.5 na was rated one of the most reliable engines by consumer reports, ecoboost is also good, but long term can have issues. No not because it's a ford like all the retards proclaim because boosted engines are strained in ways na engines aren't
They didn't take bailout money, but they did take massive loans to retool and develop. not saying its a bad thing, just saying that massive auto makers require government money to function.
Seeing how big they are, they should put a a regular 200hp high torque 4 cyl as an option on these trucks. Or even a 4cyl diesel. I would certainly buy one. A 4cyl if it has enough torque will easily move a 4500lb truck. It might not tow well, but who the hell tows with F150 anyways. You generally get a F250 if you are towing all the time. You would get 25mpg easily.
Matt Thompson The Diesel is a $4000 option, uses more expensive Fuel, and exhibits poor performance, not what Ford's clientele want in a truck, go ahead and buy a Dodge. MT's has been on a Ford hunt ever since they ripped into the Explorer 2.0EB. When Ford pulled a lot of its ad dollars after that, reviews suddenly went south for Fords. A good example is the CR-V being the SUV of the year over the MKC.....or the Golf over the new Mustang. Pissing matches like this happen every few years in the auto industry. This one has been going on longer than most but it will get back to normal eventually. The car mag/ad industry is just printed incest anyway. Yeah, that one publication started out hating at the preview and has just gotten more out of breath, even complaining that the 15 is "not a real Mustang" because it doesn't have round headlights. Seriously? Just for fun, I checked, and 27 of the 50 Mustang model years have had square or molded headlights. I guess none of those (including every Fox) were not "real" either.
Of course, if you're job requires you to tow 24/7 you're gonna want a F250 or a F350 Super Duty. But for an average person, n F150 works as a daily driver, AND allows you to tow once in awhile when its needed.
2015 F-150 sales are down and Silverado sales are up 24% for 1st Quarter 15' as well as Ram....Without the hefty rebates, Ford sales have slowed on the new truck...did not see that coming!!
mikesanto70 It seems that Ford lovers need to get this message thorough their thick skulls and the fact that the Camaro is already outselling the Mustang
So much money, it's pretty much Corvette Stingray money. And I'd rather have a V8 than a twin turbo six because there is less to break and down the road it won't cost as much. In the real world, it's been shown they get the same mileage anyway.
did anyone else look at the thumbnail and see "EEE" printed on the bumper in big black letters before realising they were ventilation grilles/license hole
So not interested in the 2.7L Ecoboost. Maybe I'm just getting fatigued from hearing about this light duty city truck engine. Would be nice to hear impressions 3.5L Ecoboost with the reduced weight or of the 5L V8 since they gained more Hp/torque for the upcoming year. We get it, we get it... A new smaller engine, woopdeedoo, its capability is "meh" at best :P
Ford used less bolts and screws they said and used more adhesives to hold the truck together . That entails meaning that is how we lessened the weight.. haha no thanks.. I don't need my truck held together with more adhesives.
EscapeforMankind People who know nothing like to try and look smart. I guess he never knew what a Lambo or most other exotic sports cars are made of. What a dimwit!
Can't say a new standard has been achieved until 10 years down the road. If the aluminum body held up good, then a new standard has been achieved, however, if the body falls apart and the Ecoboost engines continue to give troubles, then it is an epic failure. I will not be a consumer taking this so called "achievement".
Folks just to let you know it doesn't matter what engine you chose nor what trim level you get because either way they're Absoulty overpriced just like any other modern vehicle you see on the road today.
Ford only improves over time. The 10sp tranny needs work! I'm happy with my 2015 5.0L 6sp. I wonder who'd make the best trk barring gov't BS. It's gov't Nonsense controlling everything. Ford didn't want to make a 10sp tranny!
if you're deciding wether or not to get a truck, you don't need a truck. i foresee this trend ending, like the large suv craze. ford has spent a lot of money turning their truck into a consumer good for people who don't need it. yes, they will make their money back, and then some. but one day the "fad" will die out, and trucks will be built for people who need them. the 2.7 is great for an empty bed, but to haul loads, it will burn plenty of fuel, and will be working much harder than a larger motor. imho, this is a houswife special.
bking50482 LMAO! No he doesn't! People don't buy trucks because they like the looks, they buy them because they use/need them. hatebreed must drive a prius.
shane ackerman i've had my class a license since 2009 and my fra engineers license since 2012. i've been in the industry of transportation for quite some time now and can ASSURE you that these new breed of trucks cater to people who do not utilize them. our fleet vehicles are used by people that need a truck, and they optioned quite differently from the ones represented here. as stated before, the 2.7 is for the empty bedder, who wants the look, but doesn't use it. there are other powertrain options for people who actually use their truck.
if this is such a potent powertrain, perhaps you dad can tell me how many f250, 350 ,450, 550, and 650s he sold withe the 2.7 ecoboost? i stand by my comment. this is a toy truck. for people who want a truck, but don't need it. if gas goes to $10 a gallon, a lot of these customers will realize that what they NEED is a car.
Biggest flop since New Coke!!!!! Ford is doing their best to make their trucks for the upper class only. First, with the "Aluminum body", repair costs will be through the roof. Not to mention the extremely higher insurance rates do to this aluminum blunder!!!! I looked at a completely standard XL 4x4 extended cab the other day. Not eco boost. It had a 3.5l V6. This thing had a MSRP of $39,000!!! For an XL model??!!! That's $5,000 more than an STX with a lot more options and a 5.0 V8 only a year ago!!!! Ford, you have broke one off in the middle class with this hideous, over priced piece of crap. I'll keep my 2010 STX as long as it will hold up. If it finally dies, I'll go to a Ram!!!!! NO LONGER A FORD GUY!!!!!!!
***** No,,, just people buying into it. That's why manufacturers keep doing things like this, because they know that die hard fans of their products will buy what they make no matter the price. They could put a blue oval on a turd and charge $50,000 for it and there will be people dumb enough to buy it!
Jsalrulz No, Donald Trump doesn't drive my pick-up! I was being sarcastic about how OVER PRICED these things are. A truck is supposed to be a work and recreational vehicle but ALL manufactures have been targeting the UPPER MODEL CLASS with useless luxury options on a fricking truck!!!!! Understand simple sarcasm and try not to be a troll!!!
rcflyboy65 Talk about not understanding sarcasm. I didn't say he drives your pick up. You don't have to buy a top of the line truck! That is why they offer more than one model.
Yea, right. Like I would let my "camry-driving neighbor" borrow the all new F150 for a run to home depot.
Ha! You are so right.
the only vehicle I would ever consider lending someone is my 50cc scooter!
lol
Haha that's what I said 😂
***** weren't big knobs and buttons copied from the Tundra along with the easy drop tailgate?
If your a Dodge or Chevy guy you have to admit this truck looks beautiful.
Yeah, I'm the proud owner of a 2014 Ram and this F150 sure looks damn good. But I wouldn't trade in my Ram for anything.
Dandy S You must have lots of money for gas...lol
kodiak
It drives with LPG, MUCH cheaper than gas or diesel! Booya! But besides you're probably right.
I bought a 2015 with the 5.0 V8...I love it...385 hp...rides like a dream...the price increase $8000. in five years for the same truck..the only downside is price.
inflation, taxation, and regulation my friend, thank the Gov.
Love mine in every possible way
And now new ones cost $10000+ more than they did in 2015
Ford clearly setting the standard as always.
Ford- always one step ahead of competition.
and 20 steps behind when it comes to reliability lolllllll
AraJ
sure its not as reliable as Hondas and Toyotas but its improving,
when USA brings strict emission norms all other brands will hit the issues that Ford is tryin to bolt up now, turbos and hybrids r the future and Ford definitely has the upper hand with something called experience
totally agree with you

Great looking truck! Ford quality is unmatched. I'm buying one!
Great trucks id Ford F150
Looking well Mr. Davis, my old friend!!!
I have the 16 Platinum, best truck I've ever owned. Nothing close.
I have a 15 Lariat it is the greatest thing ever my dad never thought of himself as a truck guy but he bought a 16 XLT and loves it more than anything
I'm glad they still have a 5.0 under the hood of the new F150
Though it would be nice if Ford gave us a very small but boosted V8 like a 4.2 Liter or something
Not to mention it would be awesome if that was in other Ford cars as well like say the explorer or expedition maybe even a sedan to compete with the Dodge Charger
I think ecoboost tech coupled with a V8 would equal crazy power would equal crazy power and wouldn't guzzle that much gas
I'm no engine fuel economy expert but I think there's a way to make a V8 more efficient
But what do I know
Ford knows trucks!
That's why when I sold my 1995 F150 a few months ago I got a 2005 F150 to replace it.
I wouldn't even consider any other brand!
love my 15 f150 ecoboost. nothing out there compares.
Just traded my 14 ram ctd for a 15 3.5 eb. Time will tell if I made the right decision....
u did
+roy kwon Regular maintenance and the engine will last a long time.
Their is people with 3.5 ecoboost with 250 300k miles very minor issues. So yes just take care of it.
Where the heck did Motorweek get there pricing cause dealers around here are almost 5k-7k more.
They should make a 6.2 v8 ecoboost lol
I love my 2015 Ford F 150
Have you guys ever thought about making a MotorWeek Classics/Classic MotorWeek channel for the Retro Reviews?!!!
They do its called retro review
My neighbor will never, never....ever use my 2015 150. Noooooo!!!!
Why isn't there anymore track stats?
Well Done Ford!
I work at a Ford Lincoln and Chevy dealership. After driving this and the 16 silverado on a daily basis the Ford is better.
It's true. I made the same conclusion also
Which trim level Is that. The one he was standing in front of starting of the segment
Looks like it’s either a STX or FX4 just based off the color and dark grill and headlights but idk. It’s a 12th Generation (2009-2014)
tell my neighbor to go rent a truck for your home depot run you aren't driving my new f150.
Lol
Why doesn't Ford offer wheel well covers for the rear sides. Would the exposed paint get chip by rocks and quickly cause it to rust? I notice the new Rams and GM trucks have rear wheel well covers on their half-ton pick-ups.
Did he say 385 HP 5.0? Did they bump up the HP on that engine? Or did he just screw up??
Not it's been bumped. It's gone from...
360hp - 380lb/ft of torque (2011 - 2014 models)
to
385hp - 387lb/ft of torque (2015+ models)
Power tailgate!!!! Damn!
Yuppie ages for you.
How about make truck that is v8 and 4x4 for under 20 grand.
I don't think that's possible with the regulations today.
It's possible that a car company can make such a vehicle but there would be a lot of cost-cutting involved and the quality wouldn't be there. WTF do you get your info from?
+Andrew Dion (TravellAll901) You're pulling fake stats out of your ass and you think Ford fans have thick skulls bwahaha What a putz!
TheMeanmarine13 why don't you get back on the Ford bandwagon express and shut your mouth
I wish that still made the Ranger...
Myke there bringin it back 3500 pound payload 3.5 ton towing capcity! outta the new mid size ( no longer mini ) coming 2019 go looks around on it
Myke they do, but it's not sold in America
Im here from the future to tell you its coming back in 2019 with the 2.7 turbo!
So much money, it's pretty much Corvette Stingray money. And I'd rather have a V8 than a twin turbo six because there is less to break and down the road it won't cost as much. In the real world, it's been shown they get the same mileage anyway.
Clearanceman2 just take an xlt model with FX4 package 5.0 & that's it .
that's my favorite truck.
Ugh Idk if I am feeling this one!
I can't help but think that this 2.7 v6 ecoboost should've been the engine on the new mustang.
Ford doesn't want ecoboost mustang to rival the 5.0 GT, they need it sandwiched in the middle.
FrostyCoug Yeah i figured =(
stephen king
Did you figure if you add a High Performance Tune to the ECU on the 2.3L EcoBoost you'll add *+35hp* & *+65tq*?
EscapeforMankind even with that added power, it still wouldn't beat a GT and it wouldn't sound as good as a turbo v6.
stephen king
Install a Supercharger only on the 5.0L and it produces 725hp on 91 octane.
Buy a Jap car instead.
did anyone else look at the thumbnail and see "EEE" printed on the bumper in big black letters before realising they were ventilation grilles/license hole
They did bumped the power on the 5.0.
What we need is a body panel durability test, not that any auto mag can reasonably do that.
And the whole reason for the aluminization is MPGs, which are...?
Where are the track numbers?!?!?!?!
Who the hell would get a Fullsize pickup truck with a 6 cylinder engine?
Me, quick, powerfull. Loaded it up too 7,000 pounds one days and drove it for 400 miles and got 21 mpg
Strigent Odin oh, well enjoy it I guess
Personally I'm a fan of V8 muscle and my dad and I love our new 2012 raptor
Golden Retriever those of us who don't measure our manhood by the number of cylinders under the hoods of our trucks, that's who.
TED Schmitt well dad and I have a 2012 raptor it puts a smile on our faces every time we drive it
Golden Retriever
Nice. I was gona get a raptor but I already got a truck that gets 14 mpg. Why I bought the ecoboost to get 21 - 23
Oh yeah!!!
Insurance companies and body shops are going to hate these trucks, get a dent and replace the whole panel
they should put the twin turbo on the V8 fuck gas saving I want the power
looks like a space ship. I still like my 2001 f150.
brianmcg321 looks too much like the Tonka concept truck!!
*video footage and review provided by Ford Motor Company
Ford trucks have not been the same since 96.
Scott Witkowski ninth generation was the all time best looking. then it just went downhill from there
I priced one out to $33k. I want to put a motorcycle in the bed, but then I also want something sporty like a Mustang GT or WRX STi...
2010 Ford Raptor's should be in that same range by now. Gives you some of the sport characteristics and a bed.
supercharge the 5.0 and you have a pickup that will beat the gt and sti
I work for Ford toolbagger
Well worth the the 52k
Ford used less bolts and screws they said and used more adhesives to hold the truck together . That entails meaning that is how we lessened the weight.. haha no thanks.. I don't need my truck held together with more adhesives.
How do you think Carbon Fiber Aircraft are held together, Dimwit.
EscapeforMankind This is a truck not an aircraft lol
EscapeforMankind People who know nothing like to try and look smart. I guess he never knew what a Lambo or most other exotic sports cars are made of.
