I had a complete labrum tear.. took 12 anchors and followed the exact rehab procedures as the doctor and physical therapist recommended...The doctor was highly regarded and recommended and 3 years later I reached out to stop a door from closing and the entire labrum re tore.. A year after surgery it was never the same.. Had to give up bench presses and dumbbell presses. I’m not electing for surgery this time.. I’m 54 and in excellent health and a former professional athlete but this surgery ruined my shoulder... @Az_s2k there's a few stretches that slightly help. Hang from a pull up bar every morning and force yourself to lateral raise and front raise arms with 2.5 pound weights if possible twice a week. Main thing that helped me recover any movement and strength was swimming. Then I would over do it trying to lift weights again and always retare swimming seems safe with constant benefits. Depends on severity/size of tear along with when it happened. A tear before 18, kiss your old arm goodbye. A tear after 18, enjoy what you have while it last.
Are these exercises only appropriate to be done after you've already had surgery and are in the rehab/physio process? Or are they safe to do before you've had surgery?

Hey Brandon, just reaching out to you to see if you are doing any better? I was told they have a tear at the labrum with involvement of the biceps tendon. It looks like in my case the biceps tendon sublimed out of place or is also partially torn as with the labrum. I’m not really sure if I’m gonna do surgery or if I should just let it heal on its own. How are you doing?
Is it bad to workout with a slap tear? Clearly its not the best thing to do for your shoulder BUT what are the side effects working out with it For a year or two untreated? once its torn its simply torn so if you weight lift 3 to 4 days a week what can happen to your shoulderm
