Hi! She was 10 years old when she sung this (the actual recording is from July 2014). The year before she won Holland’s Got Talent after singing 3 (extremely beautiful) opera songs. She really has something angelic, pure and divine about her and it is always a joy listening to her (while also crying 😅)
Wow! I might have to react to one of those auditions, for sure. And trust me, I got emotional aswell, but was able to hold back some tears 😆

Amira was 10 years old. Today she is 19 and will be 20 in a few weeks. Amira really is a phenomenon. She taught herself to sing and was discovered by Andre Rieu when she won the sixth season of "Holland's Got Talent" a few months earlier. There are many spectacular performances by Amira. I would recommend watching her audition for "Hollands got Talent". The judges were sitting there with their mouths open when she started singing. My personal favourites from her would be "Your Love", "Amazing Grache" (at 13) and "la vergine degli angeli" (at 16). But there are many other performances that are at least as beautiful.
Love it! Happy to see that she has come along way with her abilities and skills. Most definitely a talented singer, there is no doubt about that!

Like you I was totally blown away.. shocked.. and was up half the night listening to anything else from her I could find on RUclips...

Hello. Nice reaction ! Amira was singing in Maastricht (Netherlands) O mio babbino caro (O my dear Papa !), an opera.aria in Italian from Giacomo Puccini.
She had received only a short masterclass of three days from André Rieu. She taught herself, watching You Tube videos and imitating Maria Callas, Pavarotti and Boccelli. And yes, she continues to sing now.
You can react to many of her performances, one of her masterpieces was the rendition of an Ave Maria by William Gomez in 2011, at the age of 11. Clearly out of this world...

Heidari, that was one of the very best reactions of all Reactors seeing Amira for the first time. This is a long post, but you sound very interested, so here goes. ( by the way, I’ve just subscribed )
Amira was first interested in Opera at age 7 & as already mentioned, commenced watching uTube, mimicking these artists, learning mouth movements, breathing techniques & even vibrato. She had no singing lessons whatsoever when she won Hollands Got Talent at age 9 & then Andre Rieu gave her some instructions in the form of a master class before this performance.
Since then, Amira has basically performed around the world, often to a packed auditorium supported by a full orchestra and backup . I’m sure it’s over 20 countries and she has sung in at least 6 languages. Amira is fluid in Dutch, English and Africana and the other languages she needed to not only learn, but understand the lyrics, & it’s obvious by her passionate delivery that she certainly does understand the lyrics.
Amira has a very strong religious faith and some of her best work revolves around hymns & other religious songs. She does however sing any music genre including classical cross over, musicals etc. Her versatility is astounding .
Also when Amira was 7 y.o she was travelling in Sth Africa & noticed that many schools had no playground equipment & the children were just playing in the dirt. She said at the time that every child has a right to play, so she decided to do something about it.
After winning Hollands Got Talent & when she started getting monies from her performances ( still aged 9 ) she formed a charity foundation, putting in 50 percent of her monies earned with the intention of supplying ONE school with this equipment. To date, I believe that in excess of TWENTY schools now have playground equipment installed & also maintained.
Amira has never sought fame or recognition for her singing or her philanthropic deeds and is simply a beautiful human being.
She was also an ambassador for world peace, although I’m unsure if this is her current status.
I warned you it would be a long post, but you said you’re interested. You’ve got a couple of suggestions already for future reactions. & I fully endorse for you to react to her performing “ Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church “ at age 11. This should be Mandatory for all Reactors. It is breathtaking.

Nice genuine reaction. Andre Reiu had seen Amira on Hollands got talent six months earlier, and invited her to perform with him. She did a couple of shows with him in July 2014, but hasn't worked with him since. However in the last 10 years she has done a lot of performing elsewhere. There are plenty of outstanding videos of her on you tube. Live in concert Nella Fantasia is a good one, as is her Ave Maria Gomez. More recently Gesu Bambino informal recording is beautiful. She loves singing and delivers each song from her heart.
She truly does deliver the music through her heart. A lot of passion and emotion. I will definitely react to other videos!

O My Dear Father is an aria from the opera Gianni Schicchi by Puccini. Amira loves opera, but now, at 19, has a wide repertoire, including musicals, classic crossover, and hymns. In 2017 she sang Nessun Dorma from the opera Turandot, one of her best. Nella Fantasia (2016) is also worthy of your attention. There have been many more over the past nine years. Welcome to the world of Amira. Ps. She is fluent in Dutch (her language), English, and Afrikaans, although has sung in around 11 languages.
