    It’s believed this was the song that played as the titanic sank. Wallace Hartley performed with his band as the ship sank. They only wanted to bring some form of comfort to the people in peril around them. Wallace Hartley is honestly one of my idols and a true hero in my opinion. He could have tried to leave but instead stayed behind to try to put people at ease .

      I was a violinist for about 17 years and this was always my favorite song to play. There’s few songs that can bring me to tears but this is one of them. Got to play it at my grandpas funeral.

    Just beautiful! The BEST hymn! I grew up in church, now I'm agnostic. This song makes me feel guilty, honestly. It's so beautiful and touching, it makes me want to believe again. Like, how could I betray God? I still don't believe, hence the guilt. It stirs my soul, lol.

    Such a beautiful hymn to be played at such a terrible time only makes it that much more haunting to this day. My wife and I visited the Titanic graves in Halifax a few years ago. It was a very powerful place and peacefully silent, yet in my mind I couldn't help but hear this beautiful Welsh hymn as we walked past the grave stones. By the time my wife and I made our way around the gravesite we both had tears streaming down our faces.

    Since music is so powerful, and since you deal with depression, you'll need to avoid any negative type music, and stick with what is uplifting, always. I deal with depression if its cloudy for days on in, the weather affects me so much that i have to live in Calif, Arizona, or the "sunny south." You are such a sweet, awesome person, i hope you overcome the depression, and *stay focused on anything and everything that's positive* in life. I really believe that is the secret of happiness. Good luck to you, i love the channel and wish you the best!

    There's a very young man you should listen to, his name is Jonathan Antoin, his voice is amazing, he's maybe 25 or 26 but his voice is so pure and soothing. He sings different types of music; I love his version of Can you feel the love tonight and Unchained Melody. I love the way you share your emotions and how your feeling, trust me, depression isn't easy to deal with, I'm 63 and I was diagnosed with depression when I was 58, I thought I was going crazy, a friend told me to talk to my Dr and I did, best decision I ever made. I love classical music because I can close my eyes and see a story forming in my headright now I'm picturing beautiful ballet dancers

    You have to pause it we get it. I was on a big Factory Prosses that rolled and sank, and we lost eight people. There was a service held a year later at the Fishermans memorial where their names as well as My Grandfather and two close friends are. The Coast Gurad sent a band that played this after the sermon, and no one left with dry eyes.

    I can't help but weep when I sing this beautiful prayer song.
    Here are the words for those who don't know them:
    Nearer, my God to Thee, nearer to Thee! E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me;
    Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer, my God to Thee, nearer to Thee!
    Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down, darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
    Yet in my dreams I'd be nearer, my God , to Thee,
    Nearer, my God to Thee, nearer to Thee!
    There let the way appear, steps unto heaven: All that Thou sendest me, in mercy given;
    Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer, my God to Thee, nearer to Thee!
    Then with my waking thoughts, bright with Thy praise, Out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
    So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
    Or if on joyful wing, cleaving the sky, Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I'll fly;
    Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee! --- Sarah F. Adams
    I was afraid to die - then I drew near to God when I learned that He loves me so much that He sent His Son, Jesus,
    to deliver me from evil and save me from Hell, by paying the penalty for all my sins by dying for me on the cross.
    He rose from death - HE LIVES! I'm looking forward to the day when He comes again to take me to His Father's house
    to live happily ever after with Him!
    Jesus loves me - this I KNOW - for the Bible tells me so!
    I believe Jesus!
    Jesus is the joy of living!

    The additional musicians were attendees of the WMC in Kerkrade Netherlands. It’s a competition for marching bands from all over the world. André has asked If there are some musicians who wants to play music with him at his concert (first concerts were in his hometown Maastricht). He thought “40 or 50 would be nice” . Yeah right, they came with about 600. 😜 . They also played a peace of Ben Hur, they blow your socks off . Check it out. 😎

      That is not fully accurate. André invited amateur musicians playing brass instruments from music bands in the neighborhood of Maastricht. Some of my fellow musicians from the band I play in were present as well. At this concert there were 400 amateur musicians in total. I was present at the Vrijthof Square and it was like being swallowed by huge waves of beautiful sounds.

      @@Greyhound53200 I recognize some musicians from Advendo from Sneek and K&G from Lijden. Not exactly near Maastricht seems to me ;-). Now, it only makes it more beautiful, don't you think? He has already done something similar with bagpipe players in Germany. That was 400 players at the time. Then he said for the women; 400 Männer ohne Unterhose :D (lol)
