- In early August of 2021, my family and I spent a week in Whitefish, Montana. I got some railfanning in, both on BNSF's Hi-Line Subdivision, and a morning chasing trains on Montana Rail Link (MRL) west of Missoula including the day gas and a BNSF coal drag. Thanks for watching!

Beech Grove is actually located in Indianapolis, IN. The four units leading that number 8 were P42s
Fantastic Video! Thanks for sharing . Modeling MRL in my home state of Kansas in O-Gauge . My latest acquisition is a MTH MRL SD70ACe #4407 Veterans Tribute engine for my Gas Local . Gotta get back up there and watch the MRL Boys again for sure . Super narration , very well done !
Thanks a lot! Hope your model goes well, the real thing is certainly a joy to watch in action...
Just the sound of the giant 6 axles emd engines at 13:52 is sooo satisfying!
Oh yeah. They put on a great show
Wow, I'm envious. Montana is one of my bucket-list travel destinations. Terrific stuff as always!
Definitely quite a bucket-list place. Appreciate your kind words!
Love Glacier Park, awesome video!!!
Thank you very much!
that hike looks awesome, on my list for next time I am there!
Yeah it was an awesome hike, one of many. Thanks for the kind words!
Hey man Sweet video! I actually live in Whitefish and if you ever decide to come back up here I could give you a railfanning tour!
Thank you! Revisiting is certainly on my list of trips, I’d always love some help
Great job filming and Narrating!!!
Thank you!
Looks like an amazing trip! The nature and animals were a cool treat as well. It reminds me of my family’s trip to Yosemite this summer, and then the great traffic in Fresno, CA.
Certainly was a fun time, glad the wildlife and nature were a welcomed addition.
Excellent video! Just a discrepancy I noticed, you had your subdivisions mixed up on the MRL. The 10th Subdivision is actually the line that winds its way through the mountains, while the 4th Subdivision takes the more long gentle route. Other than that fantastic coverage and camera work!
Darn, was really hoping I got those correct. I suppose that's what guessing will get you. Thank you for pointing that out!
I like the way you intertwined GNP fun and local train line history.
Awesome!
Thank you!
Hahaha. Who booked your hotel? I live near Libby on this Great Northern line. I keep saying VRF should have cameras here at Whitefish or up on Marias Pass. So much rail traffic.
That would be a sweet spot for a cam, you’re totally right!
There is no schedule brother , it’s whenever the customer releases they’re cars to the mainline crews. That determines the time
That’s interesting for sure. Over here you see CSX and NS sticking to a schedule, neat to see different operating methods
Fantastic video! With the commentary, you made me feel as if I was right there taking in the views with you. Plus some great shots of the Hi-Line too :)
Appreciate the kind words!
Really good video man, you deserve a lot more subscribers. Keep up the great work. I hadn’t heard oh Whitefish before, but I’m already starting to study it as a destination for my own family.
Thanks a lot man! Whitefish is definitely a destination. Its about an hour west of Glacier, but if you're the type that enjoys hiking/rafting/mountain biking/anything outdoors, it's definitely a great vacation.
Did you make it to Essex---Issac Walton Inn??
No, that’s on the list for next time though!
Amtrak on the high line, Empire Builder, is at the mercy of BNSF. ITS notorious for being late. However I will say during Trump years it ran pretty much on time. I think it may have to do with the number of bulk oil cars
I wonder some of that traffic will be alleviated with the MRL takeover?
