R H I’ve Pre-ordered the premium-deluxe version, as Heathrow is also my local airport and I frequently fly to and from Heathrow and San Francisco so it will be nice to be able to do in high levels of detail 😆😆😆

Nice video. The 787 flight controls in the cockpit was designed by Rockwell Collins for Boeing back in 2006-2008. I worked on these flight controls and it was challenging yet also very fun to see it workout well in the end.
Oooh! You could well hold the knowledge I seek! I’m trying to build a simulator based on a 787, dimensions for control panels seem to be as rare as hens teeth! Would you by any chance be able to point me in any kind of direction that I might be able to find these? Cheers

I have used the PMDG mod for the amazing 737 in FSX 2005 and I can happily say that it looks quite similar - just a LOT more advanced and futuristic! This was amazing, thanks for the share!

The advantages of being a new type rating is that you can create modern interfaces, since you do not need to keep compatibility with legacy ones in order to maintain the type rating.
ccmps , except of course, you do.....as you get the 777 type rating with the 787. 787 cockpit could be more advanced if that hadn’t been required

Now I feel regret to fly a330 (was flying 737ng) 🤣. 787 seems much more familiar and easier to learn
a330 is basically a big a320 so a lot easier to learn
737 manuals, charts/table are much easier to learn. Yes, both airbus and boeing have advantages and disadvantages, but for me 737 is a lot easier and much more fun to control and fly. And don’t forget how simple the 737ng’s cdu to operate 🤣. And I can’t find hand drawn illustration in 737ng manuals like I found in a330’s 🤣🤣🤣

what about the a350?
101Xander not sure about that. But how airbus (a330) manuals presented are awful for me. I know airbus has different method to handle failure, but when we come to the QRH, as the name, you have to do it “QUICK”, the airbus’ QRH are “not meant to be read at cockpit in bad situation” 🤣. As monkey like me, which even monkey can fly, the manuals are supposed to be easy to read, especially in emergency situation.
Still haven't gotten to fly on a 787 yet but hopefully pretty soon. Would also love to see Boeing get the 797 out. Replacement and a truly new and modern plane to fill that 757/A321 spot

I want to be an observer!! It reminds me of the early to mid 90s when we were transitioning from DOS to a Windows GUI. Think Windows 3.1 maybe? At least there are less that 1,000 switches/buttons!🙂

How do we set the course for ILS and also how do we set the altimeter in 787-9 Dreamliner and the 747 ? (I fly in x plane 11 and have problem figuring it out, if you could tell me it would be great)
787 does not have raw data navigation if that is what you are looking for (flying with HSI and setting VOR or ILS frequencies), the way to set the approach is through the CDU, simply select the ILS on the DEP ARR approach page. The only other way to do it is through the TCP (9:28) on the NAV page but it is only used if all 3 FMC have failed. Altimeter is set on the EFIS control panel (5:43). I am not familiar with the 747 so I could not tell you.

Flaps 17 and 18?!!? Never seen this on Boeing. Awesome aircraft.
Aykut Kahveci well, this proves that this is a Boeing 787-9. Flaps 17 and 18 were introduced on the 787-9 and 787-10 to further increase its take-off performance by finding the exact performance they need. This is how you could differentiate with a 787-8 and other variants, the former lacks Flaps 17 and 18 settings. It only has Flaps 15 and 20. Even though they hid the registration i can tell that this is an Aeromexico Boeing 787-9. :)
I got the registration. It’s ‘N183AM’, an AeroMexico Boeing 787-9 equipped with two General Electric GEnx-1B engines. :)
