I chopped the frame off at the shock mounts, then welded in a bar from the cut frame down to the swing arm.
The battery is a AGM type so it can be mounted sideways. I would recommend either a AGM or Lithium type battery for a hard-tailed bike. The standard liquid-filled batteries don't like the bouncing.
This bike changed a little since the video, I should post a new vid. Also building up a 83 shaft drive model which I will post a vid of in a few weeks.

I am planning on chopping up and modding my 79' cb650 this year. would you be able to give me a little advice how the changes you made and any tuning changes you had to do?? I want to convert to a hard tail (and as I dont see a kit anywhere, your method seems perfect!), probably run pod filters, move the battery, and re wire so the starter switch etc is by the seat similar to yours. Any feedback is appreciated man. I can also give you my email if thats easier.
Killer bike, thanks for the inspiration.
